Great review. I miss the days when you could work a blue collar job and pay off a car like this in 3 years. LX 5.0 was the lighter weight street beasty.
Hell I bought several running driving muscle cars during the early to late 90sfor litteraly 2 or 3 paychecks. Everyone said you were a wife beating mullet wearing redneck if you drove a muscle car back then. NOW everyone thinks they're Dominic Toretto.
I was 19 years old when I bought my 87 GT with T-tops, black with red trim, the cops absolutely hated on me every chance they got, a female cop pulled me over and referred to me as Mr 5.0 😂, a lot of great memories, I’m now 54 and wanting an LX, trying to find one that hasn’t been wrecked or hacked all to hell isn’t easy, you’re gonna pay up for a clean 5.0
Yup, I had a 88 LX 5.0. Boought it new for $12,800 and with a few thousand in mods it was a killer. Ran it to 183K and traded it in when I had kids for a 95 Impala SS
Still my favorite car of all time. Love to have one of these myself. Definitely ruled the streets back in the 80s and even early 90s. Power to weight was there with a strong rear end and great reliability made these cars a force to be reckoned with.

@EnjoyTheSHO I always loved the SHO cars, but.....its a big but 🤣....the 5.0 cars were soooo easy to make quick it was like cheating. A 3.73 gear swap, the 10 minute tune up and some exhaust and they were mid 13 second cars all day with some traction. @@danfriesen4417 they make plenty of aftermarket parts for the SHO including a supercharger kit ....and they will take a 100 shot of nitrous all day trust me I know lol
Another big benefit of the popularity and high production is the fantastic aftermarket support. The parts are readily available and fairly cheap by todays standards. I have a 90 LX which came from the factory with a forged bottom end, all it took was a top end kit to push it up to 400 horses and have something that can be beat on regularly without fear of breakage. Lightweight, instant torque and a 5 speed that is happy banging gears is a prescription for a lot of fun!
I graduated high school back in the 80’s. My dad bought me an ‘86 SVO my senior year. Luckily he was good friends with the man who owned the dealership. He had the mechanics adjust the wastegate so that I got 18 psi outta that lil 4 banger. It would definitely put a smile on your face.
@@ArnoldsDesignI was teenager in the 80s and this guy our dad's age had a rusty looking 82 coupe with a built 351w and he would smoke all the guys with a practically stock later 80s mustang or Camaros.
Had so much fun in my 87 GT back in the day. I know the wife's minivan has more HP but that car just is so much fun to drive. Ford knocked it out of the park when they designed the Fox body. Remember when the Florida Highway Patrol used to use the LX 5.0. Great content on these iconic cars.
I had a brand new '88 LX 5.0 in gray, a true sleeper (for the time.) It was my first Stang, the first of many, and what turned me into a Stang guy. What I recall of the car, outside of its great performance, was that the AC blew so cold you could hang meat inside. It was an awesome ride.
High school memories! I graduated in 1990. About 5-6 ppl had these! I had an Omni GHL Turbo. We all raced and the little GLH was right there with ‘em. Great upload man! GT 225hp
I have owned two of these. 1st one was an 88 GT Hatchback with T-Tops and Manual. Most recent one was an 89 LX 5.0 Hatchback with Manual. Even with only 225 HP these are a white knuckle ride when the weather gets sketchy since they have no driver aids. TON OF FUN! 💪😎👊
My daughter turned 16 this month. I've been seriously looking at fox mustang for her first car. I just hope she doesn't drive the way we did back then.
I had a 91 hatchback which was a blast. I eventually swapped out the 5.0 for a 408 stroker motor and was running high 10's. I sold it almost 20 years ago and ever since have been hoping ford would return to that style one day.
Oh man, this brings back so many memories. I had a '93 GT with the 5-speed manual that I purchased from the service manager at a local dealership. So, of course, he had done some 'minor' modifications, including 3.73 gears, ported & polished heads, short-throw shifter, Flowmaster exhaust, etc. He really didn't want to sell it, but his family was growing and it just wasn't practical anymore. It only had 45K miles when I got it (I think it was 5 or 6 years old). I drove it for 6 years before I decided to sell it. Man, if I only realized how much I would miss it. It's easily one of the most fun cars I've ever owned (and since then, I've owned several 'fun' cars, including Integra, Camaro, BMW & Alfa Romeo, to name a few).
The fox body wasn't a perfect design but it served it's purpose very well. can't argue with it's success. It is worth noting that these cars with smog deletes ran good times at the track, it did not take much to get one into the 13s which was pretty quick back then.
i have owned / own 2, bought my first 89 in 94 for my graduation present from college, got divorced and became a 40 year old teenager... drove the wheels off her, 3 wrecks, put back together until she was too weak to be rebuilt... 3 - 4 hunnred thousand miles on her and she still ran good... came back from iraq in 08 and bought my 2nd 89 fox... she sittin in the garage... 1 owner, never wrecked... and she has bout 3 - 4 hunnered on her... :)
Awesome review Mr X had multiple Fox body cars from full drag cars to three Vortech supercharged daily drivers! A bone stock 3.08 geared 5 speed 89 up GT would run 14.0’s all day and a 89 up LX Coupe 3.08 5speed bone stock notch back would run 13.70’s out of the box! These cars were way faster then there rated power levels were! Slicks and 4.10’s in either car could get you into the 12.90’s with good air!!
A big thing guys did back wen these were new was swap out the Gt tail lights for LX tailights including myself ,Then flowmasters ,a gear swap with either 3.55s or 3.73 s and u were ready for loads of fun
I bought this car brand new back in 1988 it had 225 horsepower with a 5speed this car was hot back in the day with the street racers it was the Mustangs against the Iroc Camaro in Chicago we raced at Doty road and several other spots I loved that car it was a joy to drive except in the winter.
These cars are the reason we got the modern muscle car era. These were the first EFI cars that could take old school hot rod tricks and turn them into reliable performance gains. Low curb weight, good launch characteristics, and low prices made these cars unbeatable! No matter how many times I have tried to replace my Foxbody 5speeds for something more powerful or refined. They keep finding their way back into my life. I currently own a pair of them. Black 89 Gt and Red 92 Lx both 5.0 5 speed cars. These cars are just so raw to drive yet reliable and good fuel economy. Great video.
You. Are. Killing. Me. 😂 Thx for posting, your video making me ultra nostalgic. I just now posted up old VHS of my 1989 (bought new!)... and now I am browsing UA-cam wishing so BAD that I still had it. Thanks for this vid! Beautiful car!
My best friend got one as a graduation present from high school. We drove that thing to San Francisco, to the Sierra Mountains, the desert...I loved that car. Am considering getting one for myself now after all these years. 😁👍
My first car in 1998 was a 1979 5.0, and my second, four years later was a 1990. To this day, over 20 years later, I miss both dearly. Watching videos like this bring back many great memories!
Automatic was mid 15’s, 5 speed cars ran 14.7-14.8 in the quarter stock. That car might have had the 3.08 gears so maybe that’s why it felt like it had a little more punch to it. Fox body cars had either 2.73s or 3.08 gears from the factory.
I HAVE A RED 87 MUSTANG GT WITH THE RARE T TOP OPTION AND IT HAS 69 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND IT'S IN GOOD SHAPE BUT MY VIBRANT RED 93 COBRA IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH 22 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND IT'S ALMOST PERFECT AND ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR EXHAUST AND THAT'S HOW ITS STAYING.
New edge was also a 13 second car stock, but most people would run 14s all day. My 03 gt with bolt one’s went a best of 13.42 at 106 on street tires back when new. Always wondered if I could’ve squeezed out a 12.99 or better on a slick with her
@dom_not_torretotedesco5707 I AGREE BUT I WILL SAY THIS THE BEST TIME I RAN IN MY 87 MUSTANG GT WITH EXHAUST AND HEADERS WITH STOCK 308 GEAR WAS A 14.1 AT 100 MPH
Love driving my 1989 Mustang GT Convertible named Bonnie. She has now passed over 50,000 miles and has won first place in her car class at many car shows. Love talking to the people in my age group about the memories that come up when they see Bonnie. But what really excites me is how many young people now fall in love with her.
Drove a 87" GT From age 18-21, blew it up Twice, put it in the ditch the first time I drove it in the rain!! Learned so much about car's from that thing! Had some amazing times in that car, what a way to grow up!
Big diff between 205 H.P and 275 TQ..But, TQ., is where it's at...My friend from high school ( my class of '90 ) still has a cobra w/ 245 and IDK tq...I like the rear orange break lights w/ the black grilled out look :):) He still has a ford model T, cuz his whole family are ford fans...That's a VERY long lineage of family ford fans Nice video, Racer X !!
Still have my black 89 LX 5.0, nothing like the flows on a 5,0, everyone knew that sound before you even turned your head, I don't know of anything that even comes close.
I think it was stock 225 HP not 205. My 88 had cold air K&N intake, 3.55 gears, 1 5/8 BBK headers, off road H, Flowmaster catback, underdrive pulleys and an aluminum driveshaft. All simple bolt-ons (except maybe the gears). It ran 12.9 @ 106.
In 1992, Ford went to a SAE net system for rating the horsepower (measuring engine output with accessories on the car instead of off as they had previously). The engine actually didn't lose any real world horsepower, just that the process for measuring and advertising it had changed.
I test drove one of these in the early 1990's. It was in the Seattle area and raining outside. The dealer asked me if I knew how to do a "snap turn." That's some sort of turn you do if you lose control of a car. I told him I didn't know how to do a "snap turn" but I compensated by driving slower when it's raining. Stupid story, but at least I've driven a new one of those.
One of things that car guys loved about things foxboy's is u could make it pretty much a 10sec car in a weekend with some machine shop work at home with some aftermarket heads cam & tune or carb swap...& maybe some jungle juice gap insurance lol..the one big weakness in these is the t5 manual transmission..alot of people would put in a built modded C4 as a upgrade..cause the T5. Just was not designed to handle very high hp.. not hard to blow out 2nd gear with 400 plus horse
I literally just sold mine 2 years ago... Bought it brand new in 1990. 25th anniversary GT. Had it originally a IASCA Stereo competition car, cover car in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords August 1996, then drag racing, then back to show car... Owned it 1 owner for 30 years since I was 17 years old in high school. So many good memories, it's now somewhere in Philly. Nostalgia!!!
Stock these would run 14s. Actual HP is 225, not 205 (not a lot, but still; Ford played games with the power ratings). I have an '86 GT. With 3.73s and removal of the air intake silencer and cats for offroad and U/D pulleys with Contour electric fans I'm in the 13s. Getting into the 12s -- so in other words, running roughly like a new GT -- might be another $1500 for Explorer heads, intake, manifolds and gaskets (possibly the pistons would need to be flycut). My GT weighs just under 3K pounds and total outlay so far including car? $8k. The combination of light weight, cheap speed, abundant parts and simple to drive & maintain have made these the cult cars they are. Nothing from this era comes close. FWIW in the 80s the 5.0 was one of the five fastest cars sold in America. Only the Porsche 928, 911 Turbo, Corvette and Grand National were faster. Any other car I ran on the street back then I could beat and believe me, my teenaged self ran them *all*. Turbo VWs, 924s, 944s, 70s & early 80s Vettes, Auto GTOs, IROCs, 390 Galaxies, 350 anything (Vette, Camaro, Nova), 16v/VR6 Scirocco/Golf, etc. all were Fox victims. Now here we are with clubs, websites, FB Usergroups, Foxtoberfest and TONS of aftermarket support while nobody gives a $hit about any of those. The Fox saved American muscle in a very dark period of Detroit malaise.
Stunning example! What a great opportunity to drive one like that again. I bet you felt like you were stepping back into a simpler time. I grew up with these cars. My Father built and raced these., I always wanted one as a teen. Great content!
Love the streetside content brother! I was a senior in HS in 93. For me and my friends it was the constant debate. Ford vs GM. For me the best of the breed from back on the day were the sleepers. The camaro RS, the mustang LX 5.0 and my all time personal favorite the FIREBIRD FORMULA! The 5 litre V8 is still my favorite engine. Be it the GM 305 or the Ford 302. Mated with a slice 5 speed there was just something special happening with those cars. And you could actually afford to own one with a blue collar income! Gotta go listen to some AC/DC now! Thanks for the memory refresh my friend. Keep it coming
Tgis is my most favorite generation of the Mustang. Love it. Even the 4 cylinder versions are great too: Love the foxbodys: My mom used to have one: I miss it. Great cars of all time.
1st car was a used 85 with the 2.3l. Only had a 1 barrel carb on it.......and came with a 4 speed man. Actually a great car, minus some trunk rust issues, valve guides had to b adjusted twice, and a few cooling system issues. Heck they used natural rubber on the hoses back then.....far inferior to silicone. All that aside i put over 100k on it, and sold it for 300 bux less than the purchase price. Was still going strong with 150k miles on it.
Hey where did you get that horsepower figure because the automatics were 220hp and standards are 225hp. I had a few of these cars. The Motors responded well to bolt on parts
I had an ‘86 5.0 with a short throw shift kit and 2” I believe it was flowmaster exhaust. I will always remember that sweet sound in second gear at 2k RPM. That hum is like no other.
Wow, those numbers are down from 1988 at 225 hp, and 330 lbft of torque. I know emissions kept strangling those engines at the end, but they were also super light.
The performance numbers you gave are interesting. We timed my 88 multiple times and it was just shy of 6 seconds to 100kph, multiple books and articles from the time agreed with what I found too. I drove multiple versions since, and heard the current ecoboost was faster, but I didn't find that. Pretty close though. I will add my 1988 was faster than my 1987, but you could also get different rear end gears. The difference between 2.74 and 3.11, 3.45, and 3.73 would be huge. My 87 was 2.74 and my 88 was 3.45.
I own 3, a 93 Notch, a 91 LX Hatchback 5.0 and a 90 Hatchback GT. Mine aren't stock but they aren't all cut up either. Still boasting their original interiors and 5.0 engines (with some mods to the vehicles). . I love them all and very fun to drive. They are quick and handle impressively (especially for 30yr old cars). Great review!
I have owned many car in my 50 years but I don’t miss any of them as much as my 93 Mustang GT. Best car I owned. I had the most fun it. 30 years later and I’m looking for another.
I've had ever new body style from 1991 Mustang Ford has came out with except for the 2005 to 2015 and I can honestly say that my favorite and most enjoyable Mustang was my 1991 foxbody. At the time it felt like it was the fast car on the road lol with the mods I had I was probably pushing 300 hp 😅, but today I own a 2019 procharged Mustang with 780 whp. There's still something about that foxbody that I'd trade anything for
I just bought a ‘93 5.0 LX hatchback (all black) last year. It’s got about 20k more than the one in this video. This is a car I’ve been wanting for a long time. Very glad I finally got one.
Brings back great memories. I had an 86 LX 4 banger, and couldn't get out of its own way. I also had an 88 LX with a high performance 351W in it, set up for the track but street legal. Definitely better 0-60 times, and a bit scary for some passengers. But I've driven a couple of the 5.0 GT's. One would put you back in the seat, and one was a relative dog. It was just a difference in rear end gear ratio.
Had an 89 red/grey/5-speed like this one. Have many fond memories of the car spanking IROCs, Trans Ams, Corvettes and GNs. Of course mine wasn't stock though as I had every bolt-on available at the time on it.
I bought an 89 5.0 mustang in 1990 that had about 9,000 miles on it, a ford executive owned it before me, it’s still in the family, my oldest son has it now, I still have all the original parts for her so she could be turned completely stock if he wanted to, great video Sir 👍😁
My brother wants a corvette of today, i want a Foxbody Mustang, one of the most simplistic yet amazing looking and handling muscle cars in the history of forever!
I had one of these in 1996 and it was a great car! Mine had the gray leather interior though. Ran consist 13.60’s at 102 mph with not a lot of mods or money into it. Awesome review but save the Mullet and hairspray for the Iroc Z three car lengths behind from the last stop light.
Great video bro. I worked at Carlisle Ford here in St Pete back in 92-93 as a lot guy. Best time for a guy that loved these cars to work at a Ford dealer...lol. We used to run them up to the Shell on 30th Ave for gas. Needless to say we never would have got down on the way up to the store. I look back on those days now as just dumb luck that I had that experience. There was a guy that came to the dealer that did gold plating and would do the emblems in Gold. The black on black 93 Gt verts didnt look bad with the gold 5.0 emblems. That and triple whites. Driving them brand new they seemed pretty fast. Sales guys would take the LX notches as the demo's. Reef Blue was beautiful and I almost bought one. I ended up getting an 87 Whte/silver lowers GT in 95 with 20k miles and still have it. Love me some FoxBody
Hell YES Brother. I can completely relate to everything you said, right down to the specific jams to listen to while driving a Fox Body!!!! Great video and great content! What a GREAT piece of American history!!!
I bought a brand new 1989 Saleen California Edition GT in 1989. I still own it but I just gave it to my son who lives in Georgia. I never had a car that I had so much fun in or was so comfortable to drive. Shortly after buying it I took a trip in it with the whole family 2 adults and 2 male late teens and luggage form northern ca to southern ca and I checked the mileage the first time and it was 29 mpg. I thought for sure I made a big mistake. So I checked for sure again and it was 28. I was driving consistently at 70 mph and the rpm was about 1600 rpms. Amazing. After California started fooling around with the gasoline adding whatever to it the mileage dropped off some. It didn't matter really because I went on to modify the car extensively.
I owned a 91 GT, with bolt on mods (heads, cam, headers, gear ratio changes, weight reduction, sticky tires. My best 1/4 mile ET was 11.74 @115mph, I miss her terribly
Here from Tampa… I had a mint 1993 Lx 5.0 for years… It was my first car… Life got in the way and I sold it… Years later I’m rocking my dream car 2001 cobra 🐍… crazy how when I had my 5.0 I wanted a cobra now I miss the fox body.
225hp not 205,, they were 200hp in '86 until sometime in 87 then 88 n up were 225 thru '93, same 302 h.o one more time in the next generation '94 then 95 came the 4.6,, nice video!
Owned a few foxs in my time. My favorite was my 89 Saleen. That thing handled like it w as on rails, but even with extra bracing the chassis still flexed a bit. These need subframe connectors and rear shock tower brace above what Saleen put on them back then. These cars arecoming up in value. What were they asking for this car?
I had one, a 5 speed manual 1989 Ford Mustang GT. It was plenty fast and I would probably still own it but my Dad wrecked it while I was in boot camp US Navy. Loved that car for sure.
I have the joy of owning both a 1990 Mustang GT Convertible and a 22 Dodge Charger Widebody Scat Pack. Both are fun but hard to not love a clean foxbody
Guy my dad's age had an ugly 84 coupe (in 1990)with a souped up 351w C4 and gears. That car was butt ugly but would stomp everyone's azz on Saturday night. It was rusty looking with gray primer.
LOL MY 87 MUSTANG GT AND MY VIBRANT RED 93 ARE 2 GOOD LOOKING FOX BODY MUSTANGS LOL BACK IN THE 90S MY 87 MUSTANG WAS A FAST CAR AND FOXBODY MUSTANGS WERE EVERYWHERE BUT NOT AS MANY ON THE ROADS TODAY.

The new Teal 93 Cobra was my 3rd fox body. Following an 89 black gt and an 88 5.0 lx. I sold the Cobra to the founders of the MCA for a thoroughbred judgement rules book development for the 93 Cobras. I sold it in about 02 and they cars were almost 10 years old for the ability to be judged for points. It had the original tires, oil filter air filter, battery and all stickers were removed and stored with the factory plastic interior protection, etc. 3k miles . I sold it for a historic building project. I should had kept the car. Will have to win a lottery to buy it back. Totally different driver than the modded gt..
I have a number of friends that had and still have a fox body mustang. One of my drag racing friends was racing me at Irwindale and he had a decent built engine on nitrous. While we were race he had an electrical fire under the dash. I could see him pulling wires out and smoke inside the car. We got on the turn out I grabbed my fire extinguisher and ran over to the car. Asked him why he didn't pull over and stop. Said he would rather burn the car to the ground then lose to my ice cream van. He did get the fire out before I got to the car. But it was the last time he raced it for about 3 years
They had a flirtation with digital dashboards in the 80s but people didn't like them. People preferred analog. The fact that there's no fancy electronics "helping" you drive is exactly why older cars are more fun to drive. You are actually driving. It's funny to me when people who normally drive modern cars think they need all that stuff and get nervous about not having it. Simplicity is the greatest feature.

Own an original 93 Gt myself. 90k miles, only comes out when it's sunny. Love the Fox.
This is the only car that makes my blood flow. I absolutely love this car. I had a 91 GT and regret selling it.

TON OF FUN! 💪😎👊
My 89 LX 5.0 was a daily driver. As a midwesterner, I got the full brunt of Winter. The key was four 70 pound bags of sand in the trunk.
YAH BACK IN THE 90S THEY WERE EVERYWHERE LOL BUT WHEN I HAVE MY 87 MUSTANG GT OUT I GET A LOT OF LOOKS AND EVEN MORE WITH MY 93 COBRA.
MY 87 WITH JUST EXHAUST AND HEADERS RAN A 14.1 AT 98 MPH SO THERE MID 14S STOCK.
My daughter turned 16 this month. I've been seriously looking at fox mustang for her first car. I just hope she doesn't drive the way we did back then.
The best and one of the fastest stock engine ever Made.
Thanks for doing this. I bought mine in 1990 and still have it.
The fox body wasn't a perfect design but it served it's purpose very well. can't argue with it's success. It is worth noting that these cars with smog deletes ran good times at the track, it did not take much to get one into the 13s which was pretty quick back then.
Mid 13’s is quick today
I had a 1990 hatch lx. One of the best most fun cars I ever had. Sold it with 155k miles and still ran great!
i have owned / own 2, bought my first 89 in 94 for my graduation present from college, got divorced and became a 40 year old teenager... drove the wheels off her, 3 wrecks, put back together until she was too weak to be rebuilt... 3 - 4 hunnred thousand miles on her and she still ran good... came back from iraq in 08 and bought my 2nd 89 fox... she sittin in the garage... 1 owner, never wrecked... and she has bout 3 - 4 hunnered on her... :)
I picked up a 1989 5.0 LX a year ago, it runs and drives. I plan on making it 100% brand new one day just like it came off the assembly line 😎
I bought one last year they I plan on bringing back 100%
Awesome review Mr X had multiple Fox body cars from full drag cars to three Vortech supercharged daily drivers!
I had the pleasure of riding in one of these about 20 years ago. It was built to around 680 horse and was so unbelievably fast.
My best friend got one as a graduation present from high school. We drove that thing to San Francisco, to the Sierra Mountains, the desert...I loved that car. Am considering getting one for myself now after all these years. 😁👍
I had three 1989 mustangs they came with 225hp and 300ft pounds of torque.
My first car in 1998 was a 1979 5.0, and my second, four years later was a 1990. To this day, over 20 years later, I miss both dearly. Watching videos like this bring back many great memories!
My buddy had one of those growing up,convertible, back in the day that was the car to have. It was a beast.
Still my favorite body style. I had a white 1989 gt convertible and loved driving it everyday. Great video.
Automatic was mid 15’s, 5 speed cars ran 14.7-14.8 in the quarter stock. That car might have had the 3.08 gears so maybe that’s why it felt like it had a little more punch to it. Fox body cars had either 2.73s or 3.08 gears from the factory.
I replaced my 2.73’s with 4.10’s in my 90 GT
I HAVE A RED 87 MUSTANG GT WITH THE RARE T TOP OPTION AND IT HAS 69 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND IT'S IN GOOD SHAPE BUT MY VIBRANT RED 93 COBRA IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH 22 THOUSAND ORIGINAL MILES AND IT'S ALMOST PERFECT AND ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR EXHAUST AND THAT'S HOW ITS STAYING.
Lx with AC and radio delete was a high 13 second car stock. I still have the car craft magazine from thier track day, car went 13.80s at like 100
New edge was also a 13 second car stock, but most people would run 14s all day.
In 1993 they rated 5.0 at 205hp instead of prior years 225. The Cobra was 235hp in ‘93.
In 1992, Ford went to a SAE net system for rating the horsepower (measuring engine output with accessories on the car instead of off as they had previously). The engine actually didn't lose any real world horsepower, just that the process for measuring and advertising it had changed.
Love the foxbody generation. It’s what got me into cara as a young kid. There will always be a special place in my memory of these cars
My favorite body style ever for the Mustang.
American analog heaven. Great review.
I’m a die hard Chevy guy, but as a kid I LOVED those old Fox Body Mustangs
Only thing I would put on it is some 40 series flowmasters
Stunning example! What a great opportunity to drive one like that again. I bet you felt like you were stepping back into a simpler time. I grew up with these cars. My Father built and raced these., I always wanted one as a teen. Great content!
Loving these recent vids!!! People love talking about cars that are actually attainable
The greatest vehicle ever created …. All hail to the allmighty foxbody perfect mustang 5.0
Gorgeous car, I have a 1990 GT almost identical. Stick shift so fun to drive and agree on the connectivity you have while driving. Great Video!
I have owned foxbodies since 2001. My current fox has almost 400hp and set up for road racing. I love this generation of Mustangs
My uncle has a 1992 convertible GT 5.0 brought it new. And he still have it to this day originally motor everything.
They designed with a place to put your phone. Before phones. F-ckin- brilliant!
Still have my 91 GT that I bought brand new when I was 18! I love these cars, definitely from a different time.
I have a 1989 notch. H/C/I, 4.10 gears. It's still a blast to drive.
225 horsepower. Friend had a ‘92 green lx 5 speed, stock besides flowmasters. Hoot to drive, those 302’s had torque where you want it in a street car.
I still have my 1992 GT that I bought new off the lot. 68k on the odometer and still going strong!
The Hydraulic roller setup was nice in the HO 5.0 sounds great with exhaust
I had a 1982 and a 1987. Loved them both!🚗
Cheers! X, you are growing on me...
I owned a 91 GT, with bolt on mods (heads, cam, headers, gear ratio changes, weight reduction, sticky tires. My best 1/4 mile ET was 11.74 @115mph, I miss her terribly
I grew up loving the late 80s Mustang GT, I thought it looked so cool with the ground effects and it’s super fast 5.0 engine.
Here from Tampa… I had a mint 1993 Lx 5.0 for years… It was my first car… Life got in the way and I sold it… Years later I’m rocking my dream car 2001 cobra 🐍… crazy how when I had my 5.0 I wanted a cobra now I miss the fox body.
nice car but the 4 eye stangs are nicer looking
I always wanted one since the day I seen the mechanic do a rolling burnout at the dealership after fixing it !!
Both are fun but hard to not love a clean foxbody
my dad got his in like 97 or so I'm not sure how many miles where on it but
we had slot of fun in that car my mom was pissed when he got the car .
It's amazing how times change. I remember in the late 80s every kid thought these were fast as hell
They were and still are... cheap to work on and just with 302HO you can do mild H/C/I, exhaust, gears build and run right with gen 3 coyote.
They used to be the measuring stick. “Can you beat a 5.0?”😂
Guy my dad's age had an ugly 84 coupe (in 1990)with a souped up 351w C4 and gears. That car was butt ugly but would stomp everyone's azz on Saturday night. It was rusty looking with gray primer.
They still are the fastest ever and always will be
LOL MY 87 MUSTANG GT AND MY VIBRANT RED 93 ARE 2 GOOD LOOKING FOX BODY MUSTANGS LOL BACK IN THE 90S MY 87 MUSTANG WAS A FAST CAR AND FOXBODY MUSTANGS WERE EVERYWHERE BUT NOT AS MANY ON THE ROADS TODAY.
love it! its a time machine for us 80's & 90's peeps
I've owned a 74 Mustang II with a 302 conversion, an 88 GT,and a 2013 Shelby GT500. It's really hard to pick my favorite.
Still havin mine. '88 Ford Mustang 5.0 as convertible with 40k Miles. Love it ❤
Damn 22k miles!! She's a gem!!! I had a 89 stock manual from the factory was really awesome and 91 manual that was built.. Great fun cars. Wish i could find that 89!
If anyone interested I have 1993 mustang Gt convertible with only 900 miles one owner car. Auto.
Would sell for 38,000.
But it was the last time he raced it for about 3 years
I’ll never get rid of my notchback!
That’s a beautiful GT! Ty for sharing:)
I have a 91 gt and a convertible 91 also love them both
🏆Racer X 🏆
How dare u make the 1st comment...Kidding :):) !!
🍀S*** happens 😆✌️
They had a flirtation with digital dashboards in the 80s but people didn't like them. People preferred analog.
The fact that there's no fancy electronics "helping" you drive is exactly why older cars are more fun to drive. You are actually driving.
It's funny to me when people who normally drive modern cars think they need all that stuff and get nervous about not having it.
Simplicity is the greatest feature.
I still have one.
my 1st car was a 79 Cobra followed by an 81, 83GT, 86GT ,79 Pace car, 87GT and the one I have had the longest (20 years) my 88 lx T-Top 5.0 WitchCraft done to SAAC specs I found you as the wife just got a 2021 SCAT Widebody (1st Dodge) New Fords make me Sad ..........another diamond in the ruff the Crown Vic Sport the Marauder before and after (as it stayed in production as it has the 2v 4.6 ) it not much heavier then the Scat LOL
and if you dont know the SAAC cars ....they are the ultimate foxbody had to build my own to few made and few ever see the open market
How much H.P. and TQ. does the marauder have !! At one point, I thought of picking one up !! I think both cars are w/ in 150 ish pounds diff !!
