    How to epoxy coat a garage floor in 2023.
    This garage floor had a lot of de-icing salt damage we had to repair before we could install our epoxy flake garage coating.
    Some of the concrete was damaged about an inch deep. We used our two best repair methods to fix the spalled concrete. You'll see both methods in the video.
    Then we applied our epoxy base coat, the flakes, and a polyaspartic top coat.
    We've used these same methods on dozens of damaged garage floors to fix them and make the floor look beautiful again.
    This is the best way to fix spalled concrete and the best epoxy garage floor coating, in my opinion.
    Learn how to install epoxy garage floor coatings with flakes in my course below.

    Yeah, good job! Night and day compared to what it looked like before! My question is the poly aspartic going to block the road salt? Thats what the pitting/spalling was probably from.

    Very nice! I would like to have this done to my garage floor. I don't have damage like the one in the video but I do have a unique problem. The floor was not poured properly and let's in rain due to the slope being wrong. I need to float it which would take about an extra 1/2 to 2" of material. Is this possible? I'm concerned that a thin layer like that would be prone to flaking.

    Great video! With how deep some of those spalls are, I'd bet that concrete isn't made to withstand freezing conditions - is the garage temperature controlled?. Salts also don't help haha. That epoxy coating will keep it well protected from moisture and salts, good work!

    Would I be able to use this same repair material for a driveway with some pretty bad spalling? This spring Im going to try to save our driveway as it gets worse every year.

    Have you ever had a problem with self leveling cement chipping after you applied the epoxy? Also what epoxy product did you use to fix the pitting?

    Could the spauling be caused by steel troweling it? My garage floor (12 years old) is starting to spaul and sounds hollow in spots.

    Is there a reason to hand grind this surface vs using a larger floor grinder? Is it due to the repair ?

    I have a drain in the center of my garage. Of coarse the water from melting snow runs out the garage door and pedestrian door. I’d love to resurface the garage floor, but I want to fix the water flow issue first? Can you recommend a way to fix the flow and get it to the drain?

      it’s a 2 car garage, plus he’s repairing the concrete. You also have take into consideration his drive time, if this out of his service area but yet he’s still helping this customer out.

    • @chrisbrann7733
      @chrisbrann7733 Рік тому

      Ya agreed, that floor was a wreck, he didn’t just bandaid it, he made the surface stronger and more dense, I don’t believe that was just road salt that made the floor spawl, I think when they finished it originally, they either bull floated it too many times or Fresno troweled it fight after, trapping bled water beneath the surface and it spawled, but the road salt didn’t help, there were some deep spawls in that floor, combination of both I think. And the other thing is, it’s expensive material, and it took him 2 days to do it, the do it yourself kits last about a year, I’m sure Mike uses at least a 5 year product and if you keep the floor clean it can last forever.
