It is not only a starter bike. I am 66 and that's what I have. I love this bike and I do not dream of buying a 1200 cc bike which I would not be able to lift. It is not a constitutional aim of every biker to start his riding career with 125cc and go up to a Honda Goldwing which is heavy, expensive and thirsty like a car.
You are correct no such thing as a starter or learner bike . I have held a full licence for decades , I purchase & ride the type & engine size that suits my purpose at the time ,be it a 125 cc or a massive super bike . 👍
I agree with you. I really like this bike. What I ment was in the uk in particular people pass their test and go straight for 1000cc or bigger and I think you should get experience on something more manageable. This bike is plenty fast enough for anyone.
@maskedavenger2578 really what I was trying to say is you don’t need to get a stupidly large bike to start with. This is perfect to start on. Not to heavy, not to powerful, but still enough power to have lots of fun.
@@GillyBikes The problem is the U.K. motorcycle media , & there thirst for ever more horse power & ccs . I never remember anyone who referred to 500cc machines as learner bikes or 750 cc as mid range bikes back in the day . Now riders are made to feel they should get the biggest & fastest bike they can ,just because they passed their test. We started on small bikes & worked our way up gradually , & I reckon it made us better & safer riders . Unless a motorcycle is expected to carry two pie munchers plus everything plus the kitchen sick ,a 500cc machine is perfectly adequate for everyday real world riding . I never bother about horse power figures , all I need to know is will the bike serve its purpose & do what it’s designed to do , & do it reliably . 👍
I can't make my mind up which one I like better, the road version or the Trail. Tubeless tyres on the road version. I really like the basic dash. All you need. This bike is miles better than a Hunter. Not comparable, single versus twin. The engine note on the Leoncino is sublime. It's the 360-degree crank.
Not got or ridden a Benelli yet but I have been following what they do for ages and I have had a close look at various bikes and I have to say they are not far behind or equal to some of the major brands products,.they also have a very interesting range of machines and more to come soon, they are selling the 500 TRK by the container load in Europe where brand snobbery isn't so much of an issue and value, reliability etc are what people want so obviously they are doing something very right
Yes. I think the TRK 502 is the best selling bike in Europe. The Italians love them. The 702 is a million times better than the 502. They are improving with every new bike.
I've just commentated on your other review of the Leoncino 500, something I forgot to mention, the fuel gauge is not the most accurate, but as I said, minor issues for what is a great bike.
Certainly bang for buck . And wipes the floor with the hunter tbh on the bhp front , is the build quality as good , theres not alot between them i dont think..
Nice video. I wouldn't really compare it with the HNTR 350 because this is a twin, but I got the point. What was the RPMs at 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6th gear? Thanks a lot.
Would look a lot better with a proper rear end , looks tacky with that bitza rear mudguard come reg plate holder . Also the front mudguard looks just a gesture & not keen on wrong way up forks on a street bike . Otherwise it’s not a bad effort , & the only issue would be the usual question of quick parts availability , if intending it to be a long term bike . 👍

My thoughts exactly. Bigger is not always better.
I’ve got one of these and I love it. I’ve owned a lot of bikes over the years, I’m 60 years old, and for value for money this is well worth it.
Totally agree. Thanks for sharing 👍
Big fan of your contents on Benelli! Hopefully you can cover the Imperialle 400 too and a long term review maybe.
Thank you. I will ask the guys at MotoGB if they have one I can borrow 👍

Good timing posting on that bike 😂 i was looking for that kind of review 🔥🔥 thank you.
You’re welcome. 👍

Very similar to be honest but price wise this new is a few grand more than the hunter. But as a used bike it’s great value just under 4k
Hunter 350 is about 20 hp, as all RE 350s are so that bike has double the power.
Yes you’re right. Over double the power.
Great bike, really flickable through traffic.
They are brilliant. 😁
That looks really nice and fast 😎🔥
It’s definitely fast enough 😎

I didn’t notice the RPM at 62 but it had plenty left in it.
@@GillyBikes I see. Thanks a lot.
100kph at 6th would be around 5k
Thanks for the answer.

It’s been around a few years and still going. I can’t see parts being an issue.

Going back a few years I think they struggled for money but now they are part of the keeway group so financially their future looks very good.

it does seem to be a little under geared?
Compared to the 800 version it lacks a bit of thrill factor but for a cheap 500cc bike I still had fun with it.
Man I'm from India I want this bikeee how can I buy this bike
Do they sell Benelli’s in India?
@@GillyBikesyes here we have showroom but they are saying leoncino models are not producing
@wglimmortal2161 that’s such a shame. You are missing out.
You look like you’ve lost weight 🥰😘
Thanks Ange. I think I’ve just put it all back on, on a weekend away with the boys 🍺🍷🍔🥐🧀🥩🥖
You like all the bikes you test ride
Most of them yes, there have been a few awful ones though like this 🤮 ua-cam.com/video/a9GIIVuhNYs/v-deo.htmlsi=UJqveNC0i6SplmH4
