Le is not a new game lolol. 😂😂😂
Man, its so funny how many people have so obviously forgotten how flat the endgames for PoE, D3, D4, etc were at launch. Seriously, LE started soo damn strong compared to most others, and has so much room to grow. They've done a fantastic job making a great foundation, now we get to see what they build with it!
Exactly. It's much easier to build on level ground then wonky ground.
I think that's a moot point: why accept this level of unpolished beta and pay for it regardless of who it is or when it was? This game had the advantage of following in the footsteps of its predecessors, and it deserves to suffer the consequences of repeating their mistakes.
I like the game, but their failures so far have been self-inflicted, and they need to be held accountable for that.
Yeah will probably be way more enjoyable after a few cycles, cause the current endgame is barely changed since literally years. Which is not great. Expanding endgame was something they should've focused the most for 1.0, but it's obvious that they had a lot of stuff to get together and the release, even if delayed a few times, still felt a bit rushed.
There will be new D4 seasons and PoE 2 to enjoy while waiting for LE's content.
@@jaccl4539I couldn't disagree more. It's launch was on par with every other arpg launch. Maybe launching a game is more difficult than leaving entitled comments on youtube?
@@johnWayne-df6rm it really wasn't and not even close. Also why race to the bottom for a launch and call that the standard? Thats such a odd take to call it a problem a decade ago and a standard today and you wonder why people walked away ?
Were entitled ? Your proving my point so thankyou
The problem is Last Epoch combat feels very floating and it feels like i'm punching the air.
Torchlight 2, Grim Dawn, Diablo 4 and hilariously enough, Wolcen, has some weight and feedback to your attacks..
Le and poe have the worst combat for sure. However, they do everything else better.
Omg this is so true. There is no weight to my attacks but with that being said, it is still so fun!
The exact reason I keep going back to wolcen, there is so much weight to every strike and it feels fantastic. You're right, last epoch is amazing but I wish you could feel the hits a little more, it just makes for a better arpg experience.
I actually liked Wolcen, the aesthetics and combat feedback was enough to make it enjoyable for me
I disagree! Played a bit of D4 recently and I felt like I was playing a mobile game idk but didn't scratch for me felt a lot like Lost Ark disguised as an Arpg
time to be a filthy epoch.
You know it brother!
Happy early birthday my dude, I have been enjoying all forms of your content, appreciate it!
cheers man. I feel old af atm haha. The grey is coming through in my beard haha
Really looking forward to 1.3. I like the monolith endgame system and I think it has great potential, but right now I get bored of LE’s endgame after a couple of weeks. A monolith expansion could hopefully change that.
Yeah. Im interested as to how the approach the cycle to cycle mechanic and definitely dodge roll will make melee feel a lot better
Unless they fix LE's lack of oomph, I can't see myself coming back to this game. I was bored within weeks of launch because of the lack of meaningful combat feedback. Attacks have so little weight behind them I may as well be throwing marshmallows at the mobs. Visuals are part of this, but the biggest culprit is sound design. Nothing sounds like it has any meat. The crux of games like this is the small spikes of dopamine that solid visual and sound design induces. LE lacks that design.
Agreed I know most people don't care but it would be nice if the classes had customizations like D4. Wanted to be a male Acolyte :/
Last Epoch is a solid game, I look forward to its future.
The only thing that would immediately make me go back to LE is Stash Tab Affinities like in PoE ;)
Seriously, it is a massive pain to sort your tabs in LE, especially with the sheer number you can get, and the amount of loot that feels valuable especially for newer players fills them up fast too, but filtering too much feels bad as well :I
For me is loot filters, i cannot min max with the way loot works: i always feel I'm missing out on some great loot or see so many things on the floor looting takes to long, there is no in between. I hate that feeling, so i stopped playing.
@@EugenioValdes What are you talking about? You can literally make loot filters IN GAME. And the system works very well. Last Epoch has way way less bases than PoE so the filter can be very basic and still have enough tweaks that you can handle manually very well. better look up some tutorials on this lol
@@zylox5374 Im talking about min maxing the loot, a good filter need to show all valuable items, but there are so many that is imposible. If you show to many, you spend to much time looting, if you dont, you lose may valuable items that remain hidden.
I started getting into Last Epoch last month and there’s definitely a lot to like! There are some things I’m not sure about though, but I’m hoping the devs continue patching, adding, and improving on the game for years to come. PoE 2 is gonna be some rough competition though..
Yeah, it just needs a bit more time to cook. But fun game nonetheless
D4 getting their act together somewhat. LE finally out of early access and powering forward. PoE 1 new league soon. PoE 2 beta near end of 2024 hopefully. What a year to be an ARPG fan.
I know right.
I fell in love with last epoch on the steam deck. Really lookin forward to the new update and also to its already amazing potential to be fully realised.
Evade adding to base game gameplay is nice, and make LE in line with the rest of the gang. One criticism I had with last epoch was the combat feel dated.
The content part of cycle 2 (why not call it season that everyone know) seems lite. But it’s the first season after launch and maybe that’s enough as many probably haven’t tried many builds. They will need to pick up the pace in coming seasons though.
I think the road map is just an overall big ticket item list. I'd say there will be a heap of other improvements as well.
what is the skill/class at 0:54 with the red projectiles?
That'll be the warlock class, can't remember the skill though. Though warlock it tanky and was one of the new classes that launched in 1.0
Looked like Chaos Bolts converted to phys/bleed to me.
I cant wait for 1.1. I have over 400 hours in last epoch over the years and will defintiely be playing every cycle. The devs are excellent and every pathc the game gets better and better.
Same. It's not my main game, but it's good fun for a month or so.
Man, I was just thinking about Rift the other day.
Such a great game
Hey it releases on my birthday!
Hells yeah!. Mines a few days later to.
It will definitely have a resurgence but won't come close to release numbers.
no worries boys, I'm back already
When are the patch notes
Falcon Punch buffs when!?
hopefully in this patch. I'm going to be doing some pre-patch testing before all the hype starts on stream and I'm going big hit tanks.
@@JorgenPOE No doubt dude, I'm pretty hyped to jump back in again.
Great im on vacation from 08.-14. 😢....😅
The skill system and idols are awesome. But the combat feels floaty and i really hate that.
I'm hoping the patch tightens this up a bit to address this one. Seems to be the criticism across the board. That being said, I still enjoy LE way more than D4.
I think the numbers are ok for LE, for now at least, i mean there is a normal box price which they got decent all time numbers to keep it going, and mtx is not really that big now. And as they provide more content probably the mtx will pay off the rest.
I'd say so. It's likely the price of the game might drop over time as mtx grows to. Always a possibility depending on the ethics of the devs.
Tbh if they don't fix the reputation with the factions i don't see a point of coming back at this moment.
Not being able to trade properly really stopped me in my tracks.
I didn't find what i need and i couldn't buy it due to trade limitations. Hence i couldn't go further on my character.
If they never plan on fixing the multiplayer servers than a lot of people aren't going to consider it unless you enjoy playing solo. The fact they're aware of the problem and know you are pretty much forced to use a vpn to play online with friends is insane
I know people hate it but me and my friends can't play without WASD.
Game looks incredible though, I hope they'll consider it.
That's fair enough. Poe 2 will be pretty epic for that, but controlled support on this game more or less works the same as wasd
they said they would but that it wont come for quite a few updates cuz there are much higher priorities
Project Diablo 2 is a better game than all of those. Highly recommend.
Yeah but the graphics are a big turn off. Can’t get into old school d2 anymore especially after d2r - pd2 with d2r graphics would be insane though
I really liked it but the floatiness finally did me in.
Have they fixed that, anyone?
I think they did. Most likely it'll have a bunch of fixes around this in 1.1
@@JorgenPOE Great news, ty
Reckon I’ll have to play it now
It's a pretty good game. Much easier to get builds working than in Poe.
HAWG! You should try it. It's not PoE, but it's pretty darn good and has great potential.
Hopefully they fixed the stupid random disconnect and major cpu overloaded.
Yeah, still a few bugs out there
nice!
They are adding a dodge bc no one wants to use a movement skill when you only have 5 skills on your hotbar, which is the real issue.
i would say ,, a lot of players will be coming back with next pacht :) like me .. 550 hrs was enough for the first season :)
Reason i stopped playing was because of the really limited auction house functionality. If it had a poe trade system id be so happy
Yeah, that's one of my criticisms as well
Also, thats just steam numbers, for both games.
Exactly. Anyone hanging crap is just baiting for yt clicks. The game is fine.
@@JorgenPOE epoch has non steam?
was an odd comparison, pretty sure most veterans poe dont play it on steam
@@Krybo i started on steam, or tried it on it, but for some reason was super laggy, when i swapped to stand alone it was waaaay way better. That was 5 yrs ago 😊
@@specterfang99 last epoch?
@@Krybo nah poe
i hope they fix trading.....
I'll be honest, when POE2 launches the competition will only be for second place, the game seems so good at it's current state that I don't think anything else has the slightest hope of coming close.
Aside from that, Last Epoch was and is better than D4 and is an excellent ARPG with really nice endgame! Even with a really great patch for D4 - which I didn't expect to actually be good, but it turned out it was - it's still not nearly as good as current version of Last Epoch. But it's at least a better game than the crap it was at launch - crap with a decent open world for exploring as a first playthrough, D4's first playthrough is better than LE and PoE imo, but that's until you finish the campaign once.
My 2 cents for the 3 games. If Diablo is concerned, D2R is the good ARPG and not D4. (D2R devs do some great stuff with the game as well!)
But Rykker said this game is dead?
Haha... How many hours you think he actually played the game... 😄. Nah, it's not dead, has a pretty loyal community backing it.
Comparing Steam counts for POE and LE isn't an accurate picture of overall game health though. POE can be played through other platforms and LE can't. What are the PC standalone numbers for POE? My guess is the standalone dwarfs Steam, but that's purely a guess. Either way, I enjoyed LE for a time. It's lack of engaging endgame is, like most other ARPGs of recent times, causing its abysmal player retention. Hopefully this helps encourage a resurgence of players.
Sure it will get some up in players obviously but I don’t think it’ll be as high as it was and it won’t be able to keep players. EHG is making a lot of mistakes that is just pissing people off.
I hope that they can make a easier way to skip the campaign. The dungeons are too difficult.
If they don’t fix optimization I’m good. I use asus rog ally to game bc I travel for work and last epoch gets 15-40fps on any build. D4 gets 100 fps 💁🏼♂️ easy choice
I would love to return. But i am a "second class" offline player. Literally what a gamer called those that play offline during this content release poll. As an offline player, i will get my content "later". So i will just stick to POE. LE devs are weak and doing nothing new. I do prefer LE gear system better than POE. And some skills are gorgeous to look at. I am not going to be treated like a second class gamer.
Is this English?
@@h0ckey87 It's waaaaahlish
LE devs are weak and do nothing new, yet they've somehow managed to make GGG rethink their stance on trade in PoE2 and adopt something similar to trade in LE, which is something that GGG has said would _never_ happen until now, all while doing nothing new. Yep, makes total sense.
I'm not coming back. I don't like their approach to cycles . If they find people that want to play seasons that aren't actually seasons cool
But I'm going to play POE and D4 instead which does seasons the way I prefer them done.
Nothing wrong with that view at all :)
Just wait until 1.5 and it will beat d4 in everything except graphics and animation
It's so buggy and unbalanced though.
It would have been really nice to see that fixed, even as a test of the solution.
They really need to revamp the engine to get me to come back. I love the ideas in the game but the combat (mainly bosses) feel very janky. The animations interrupt movement in a very bad way with a lot of skills. It makes fighting bosses like Julra feel terrible. They should take the money they made from the launch to hire someone to really revamp the combat/engine. The fps is worse than D4 and even POE 1 with vastly worse graphics etc. Hard to love it for me.
Im playing other games and S4 of D4 was decent so still playing that as my ARPG this month. I fully crave LE and consider it the best ARPG out as it has the best of both PoE and Diablo. It does need more content and time to cook but its my fav ARPG right now. I only have so much time to play games and need to jump from this one to that one at times.
Same, I'm still on hcssf in Poe ATM waiting for this one to come out.
Monoliths are boring af.
Didn't see a single reason presented why players will be flocking back to LE? If there isn't at least major overhaul with how empowered monoliths work I won't ever be returning to LE.
New pinnacle bosses, Harbinger cycle mechanic. Same as Poe. I'm pretty certain this will get a big player kick up like last time like any league start.
Just because you hate monoliths doesn't mean other people hate monoliths.
I'm very excited for next cycle. If you don't like it, that's fine. You have other games.
@ThirteenEra actually it does mean other people hate monoliths because most do
@ThirteenEra
Unfortunately monos are boring in its current state
Boring endgame
I don't think LE has enough ... charackter. It's nothing unique, nothing really special. D2-4 or poe and even wolcen I always wanted to play different classes but with LE they all seemed so... Flat and unimaginative. The impsct doesn't feel different and in the endgame everything plays so.... .the same? I think LE needs to massively improve the sound and basic combat feedback and weight the characters differently. A bear, or a tree or this sickle insect must feel different when fighting. Or in comparison to other classes. There's still a lot of work to do.
D4ever
I could agree with many things you say but the excuse that because it is a 10 year game it does better is weak at least and laughable at worst.
Show me 10 year old games that has the exponential growth of Poe over 10 years, ill wait...till i am 90
I'm referring to the extent of content. Poe has had many many leagues to expand endgame. Le is in early stages. Poe 1.0 started very similar.
@@JorgenPOE And LE had all the 10 years of POE to copy the good stuff and transform it into their own thing and improve it. nothing against LE but the excuse of "content" is weak because what you do is always copy what your competition does good and make it better and remove what it does bad or change it into good things too. Not just poe, diablo II too can be a source of inspiration.
@@zodiarkful You can't just will something into existence in the world of software development, that's not how it works. Just as it took PoE 10 years to develop all these systems, it'd take LE about as long to develop them because there's still a metric fuck ton of work to do in actually developing and producing these systems, especially if LE were to put their own spin on them.
BUT they have the way paved so far, they have to get the good spin it into their own thing and make it, now im not saying that this and that system even though is inspired or not doesnt take time of course it takes time but they have a higher standard to met the bar is this high they need to reach it if not players wont give them the oportunity they deserve, or at least not the AMOUNT of people necessary for the developer to get the fundings to ramp up development
I'm currently only waiting for poe2 nothing more i gave Last Epoch enough time and its miles better than diablo 4 but thats it.
I guess that's why le player base has dropped 75%
Will be playing this for sure. Not paying $100+ for diablo 4 dlc. Waiting for POE2. Cant stand POE original grind. Last Epoch needs to end more end game options. Will replace diablo easy.
It's 40$ not 100+

Yes
@JorgenPOE I had hope at launch it sucked endgame was boring not wasteing my time on this trash
Or just me who thinks this
The game relies on PoE leagues or D4 seasons to suck for anyone to play this game. Unfortunately, none of that has happened in the past few months and will not happen much in the future with D4 getting its act together, and with the expansion releasing in October.
Trash game. Give me back my money.
no they wont
I bet they will
Without watching the video. The Players will be Flocking Back to this Game? No they wont, why ? Because the game just doesnt feel right.....and its boring on the long run.
Absolutely welcome to have differing opinions here man 🙂. I appreciate the conversation one way or another.
Speak for yourself
That's why they keep adding new content. Yea you definitely didn't watch the video lol.. I mean lots of POE streamers played LE and loved it during the last cycle, that should tell you something.
@@down-the-rabbit-hole I know, i played it too and for me there was somethng lacking. I dont say that it is a bad game or something, no.
To be precise i honestly think that it is one of the better ones.
But the numbers will tell, maybe i am completely wrong.
