Diablo was killed by Poe a long time ago, my argument is that the rpg elite, the best rpg players, play in Poe, only Diablo fanboys and casual players play in Diablo. But LA is going to be good, I'm hyped.

It's been the theme for Blizzard games, WoW was the WoW killer, Diablo was the Diablo killer, OW2 was the OW killer, and Starcraft died of OD or something idk what happened but yeah Blizzard didn't need another game to kill their games, they were able to do it them selves.

Man at least with D4 i know i will be welcomed by a nice popup about a new cosmetic in the store everytime i login so that i can spend 30$ on a horse that has a different colour! It really made me sick when i found out that LE cares more about the gameplay instead of giving us new cosmetics every day imagine actually having gameplay but no 20 mounts with a different colour.

Keep in mind LE is just entering 1.0 release. I'm excited for release but I'm even more excited to see what the game looks like after a few seasonal cycles and patches. It has major potential.

And yes, D3 sucked ass on launch as well, but that's exactly the point, they have learned absolutely nothing from it. 6 years in development with a team of over 9000 people just to get this half assed game out? Bruh. Meanwhile, games like BG3, Helldivers 2, Last Epoch come out from indie companies that have had WAY fewer resources and are absolute masterpieces. You cannot NOT be mad about it.

That’s the whole point. The game was finished and at launch had more content than d2 and d3. You just parroted something you saw on Facebook. Misery loves company. And you, like others, are complaining about not only unrealistic issues but expectations you don’t apply to ANY other game. Helldivers isn’t a masterpiece. Reload and stim delay, horrid farmability with a load screen that’s minutes long. 1 good primary weapon late game. 1 good support weapon late game. Shield pack is also a must. It’s a 3rd person objective based shooter with an ammo economy. You think it’s a masterpiece because you were told to think it. The best part about the game is the players and the jokes. The game itself is extremely basic and dated. Doesn’t mean it isn’t awesome. It is. The D4 issue is, y’all aren’t smart enough to forge your own opinion and see what’s happening….A) drama content does wayyyyyy better monetization wise. Like…astronomically better. That’s why they do these videos. They aren’t sincere, they just need money. You don’t look at logistics, so you don’t know. 2) you continue to say games with less features are better. This is safe for you because there’s other morons that don’t see the irony or contradiction. All because you were influenced by social media. You’re a puppet. And your feelings are going to be hurt, I don’t mean to hurt them. I’m just being honest. We had a massive article exposing the D4 witch hunt. It was entirely fabricated. A lot of bot accounts that said verbatim the same thing. These weren’t even real people. But they said the same thing. Now you’re going to want to say “a lot of people having the same problem with the game isn’t weird”. Correct, it isn’t…if it was real. The accounts were saying the same thing in Starfield and Baldurs gate pages. “No end game, incomplete, too many bugs.” It’s a hard pill to swallow because you want to feel independent. But your logic for other games being good is what makes D4 a great game to you. Youre just doing what you think is popular. And thats complaining.
Blizzard has been profiteering and scamming people by making cash-grab games since 2010... And 2011 was about when their higher ups and actual workers within the company went through a massive change due to OVER 2 THOUSAND people either leaving or being fired over the course of only 3 years, from 2007 to 2010 (and that was back when Blizzard had ''only'' about 4,000 employees) and just COINCIDENTALLY that's when the whole game logic, design and game dev system changed to a way more cash grabby one. Who would have thought?! It's just a coincidence, right?! The Blizzard conspiracy theory goes like this: The companies higher ups were planning to do that all along ever since they saw just how much money they made from WoW;Wotlk release in 2008 and 2010. The thousands of employees that got swapped, were actually indirectly forced to quit/got fired on purpose for the sole purpose of them being able to go through with this plan - and when you realize that other big companies such as Apple, Google, Leica, T-Mobile, Ford, Hyundai and many, many more actually did the same exact thing, then you also realize that this conspiracy isn't actually a conspiracy...

D4's skill twig was the reason I never bought the game. I still am utterly lost at how they managed to make a skill 'tree' more barren than diablo 2... Even diablo 3 had 2-3x the choice... It's absolutely mind boggling.

But you know, I am 36, diablo1 was my first game ever I played so blizz has the old nostalgic love in my heart even if I know they didn't make anything good since StarCraft2
@@KrigHammar I think this is the general sentiment around Blizzard entirely at the moment. Most of us grew up playing amazing games like D1/2, WC2/3 and SC2. We're all hanging onto what little shred of hope we still have that Blizzard might once again be a company worth following.

Just bought this game last night after asmon reacted to this video. Started as a primalist and have had a blast hust running around with my thorn totem and the spikes skill. What sold me was the skill trees within the skills themselves. So much diversity, game is insane so far. I just want my time and hours back from D4 so i can toss it here instead.
the most fun imo is just making your own builds and seeing what happens

I also started with the druid and wanted to try something else around lvl 70, I made a new character a Rogue Falconer and Divebomb is awesome. I am having a blast, reminds me of early ages of PoE playing with the archer and old Ragnarok Online archer that also had a falcon.
Set items are actually kinda cool in last epoch. They are mostly just kinda bad, but a lot of them are weird enough you can make a build around them.
Sets aren't strong, they are just very odd. They often give benefits you wouldnt expect like changing the element of an attack or something.
They seem to just encourage theory crafting. Hoping to see more.
They are niche. Like the electric damage set for Mage. You can make an electric fireball build with it, that drops electric meteors whenever you crit.
D4 bad LE good
i like set items not used as a leveling or grinding item but for cosmetics and collection and completing a set item gives me a sense of fulfilment every time i completed a set piece ❤

Monolith's do have several static bosses though then there is Shade of Orobos to defeat and push corruption. With that said LE is hype and having a blast playing it.
But they are arbitrarily increasing in power through corruption, it's not like a static boss that is X hard and takes quite the grind to be able to overcome. So once you push that higher corruption you kind of have the mechanics etc. down from farming the lower corruption levels.
Shade is anything but a pinnacle boss. It's more of a nuisance after you've done it 100 times pushing corruption. The hardest content in LE outside of extremely high corruption monos is T4 dungeons. Those bosses will fuck you up if you're not careful.

I think set items have a place in the game. They shouldn't be end game gear but I think they would work well for leveling alts and low / mid level characters.
They would and its clear in practice if you go play the D2 mod MedianXL they have sets but most of them are mid tier gear. Only a couple builds use them in end game and even then its 4 pieces of gear not all of it.

I don't mind sets in ARPGs really, as long as they aren't so strong that they make doing anything else pointless once you have them.
Sets that change how a character plays, but not make them more powerful than a build used by non set items can be really interesting to work towards and be a fun reward for hunting everything down.

On the skill trees, i do have to say that the way D4 skill trees are setup it looks like they could easily expand the trees for skills. I would be mind blown if they don't do it with expansions eventhough i probably still wont play it.

@8:17 I'm not a fan of sets either, I prefer mixing and matching legendary effects. Sets lock you into a particular playstyle with less modifiability, and you have to target farm them which gets tedious.
Luckily in LE there aren't any real game-breaking sets. I honestly don't even know of any builds that use set pieces. They have some cool features but I think the devs knew what they were doing when they made them.

i love D2 sets. They are mostly for leveling and nobody cares in late game. There are some classes (sorc) that may pick up a 2/3/4-piece bonus, but most of the time you just equip other stuff. And for leveling its not even that the sets are overpowered, they are just good enough, so that you can run with them without having to worry about picking up upgrades along the way
IDEA: "Rune of Fate" a 50/50 of either acting as a Rune of Shatter or giving the item +X Potential. (Only drops at like level 90+, or maybe a blessing that can make them drop)
If you can close an eye on the overall graphics and sound compartment, the game is a blast.

Wow hearing Flyff to be used as an example, that shit game had some good systems but was overshadowed by its heavy monetization. Even the leveling and class systems were fun when xp events happened atleast. I remember hitting 105 for the first time and getting a maxed +10 blade set. Multi boxing your own RM, good times

I didn't bought D4. After the awful start of D3, i decided to wait for reviews for D4. I also didn't like the Online World, and Item system of D4. Im happy that i saved my money.
Blizzard will not change until people stop buying their games. The predetory ingame shop is just the tip of the iceberg for me.
They hate it because it has more content than the D4 Beta that was released at a $70+ price point.
I'm not going to go over the top defending D4. It's got bad loot, bad skill trees and other issues. However I don't understand the stash complaint. The level of hoarding that I've seen people do is absurd. I've played on and off since release and leveled several characters. There just isn't enough loot in the game, period, to fill those stash tabs.
TBH, I don't really want to keep and go through more than 250 items "just in case"...

D4 was my first ever deep dive into an aRPG and by deep dive I mean sinking a lot of hours. I wasn’t around for d2 when blizzard was “north” or so I hear. D4 is okay and has potential but the past 3 days I’ve played last epoch 40 hours and as a D4 player I LOVE Last Epoch and it’s a PERFECT middle ground between d4 and PoE. Trust me. PLAY IT! You won’t regret it if you like d4.

I'm a longtime Diablo player. D2 was the best. I'm enjoying D4 hella more than D3! As for Last Epoch, I love it! I can't wait for the official launch. I put my Necromancer on hold only because I want to play in the new cycle, not in the Legacy option. I wish LE maps were a bit more wide open, but overall the game is great. The crafting system is way cool! The classes seem cool too.

Also, for the set-enthusiasts out there:
Yes, set-items are a thing in LE but you will RARELY if ever find a single set item in any late-game builds. There might be a niche exception out there since single set items already offer a transformative effect in some way but you usually have a way better option out there regardless. The reason why set-items don't hold up is that they can't be altered in any way, so they will always lose out to crafted uniques and Exalted items in terms of stats. So, consider set-items more of a early/mid-game gear that helps you leveling your character or get through the campaign smoothly.

I was starting to feel bad for diablo 4 dev's, started to even think maybe it got better, I download it again, logged in, opened skill tree, played 5 min, opened skill tree a last time and I was like nah i'm out.
at lease d4 is actually playable last epoch cant even play online and if you can its 5+ min to load changing areas

Having played D4 from early release it seemed okay. But our clan is getting bored with it. Our Clan Master said about Last Epoch and having seem several videos of it we are switching to LE. I think LE and PoE2 will kill D4 stone dead. Even an expansion won't save D4, not when PoE and LE will both be adding as well.

Diablo 4 achieved the feat of being worse than Diablo 3. Even in terms of graphics, Diablo 3 is more attractive, has more atmosphere. In Diablo 4, the graphics look like artificial intelligence tools were used to create worlds, maps and physical models of characters. The price of the game went beyond common sense. It's a generic game, with no life, no content, no artistic personality, no variety of items and builds. It was all done in a hurry to sell cosmetics in the Blizzard store. Grim dawn for me is still my favorite arpg.

I guess its something related to consoles... many devs or marketing choices was because consoles and "casual audience" they think console players are... LE wont be on any console. they may have anything they want!... LE devs made this game for their own enjoyment first not about revenue... larger audience... etc... the only thing D4 is still better is ARTstyle ... thou LE has many cool skill FX!... Character models still a bit off for my taste...
Path of exile 2 will be on PS5 and Xbox x so that's not an excuse. Lack of stash tabs is bad programming and lack of skill tree variety is laziness.
