Arizona Cardinals vs. New Orleans Saints | NFL 2009 Divisional Round Highlights

- After a 3 game losing streak to end the regular season, the top seeded New Orleans Saints face the 10-6 Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Divisional Round.
This is the game that Reggie Bush carried a bat onto the field that said “bring the wood” after some had called him soft. Best game of his career.
Bounty gate
@@cavemanriley you listen to french montana shut up
@@cavemanriley Haha only the naive think the the saints are the first or only team to pay bonuses for big hits. This happened all throughout the league before the saints were switched on.
Reggie was huge that super bowl run
Yep you got that right good buddy... But every time the ball was kicked to him I got really worried.. an the opponent worried for other reasons then I did... overall yes I was happy with his production...
I miss this team, but more importantly, its amazing to see how good brees is still after all these years
Spoke too soon lol
If he were we’d have more Super Bowls
@@44thelegendary funny how you had to comment 7 months later for that lol. But yeah Brees was past 40 and still kept going to playoffs, only weakness was the arm strength before retirement
@@georgepeppjr6829 stfu casual
@@Ash-lf6to true bro lol was just messing around
What Bush did to those two guys at 2:44 is still one of the craziest NFL moments I've ever seen. I'll never forget it.
Thx
If only our defense was like this 7 years ago
You mean dirty?
We wasted all Brees good years(5000yd passing) with all those bad defenses. Saints should have had atleast 3,in the time brees has been in nola
@@thekingbradable not dirty not good enough
@@thekingbradable hard hitting.
@@thekingbradable Bounties were not started by the saints that type of stuff went on throughout the entire league for decades. This defense was good they forced so many turnovers that year none of which had anything to do with bounty gate.
Reggie Bush was a beast😮
RIP WILL SMITH
New Orleans was so lit after each game this series. And that’s an understatement. I never experienced anything like it since.
If the Saints had this kind of defense for all these years Brees would have atleast 3 rings. These last three years the defense has made sure to choke on playoff games.
You mean one with bounties for deliberately hurting players? They knocked out Warner of the game, the most dangerous weapon of the Cardinales and went on to repeat their dirtiness with Favre a week later.
@@zy9662 those hits were legal my guy
@@zy9662 go watch the highlights from that “bounty game” even the announcers were calling them legal
@@saintsfan255 definitely legal. And definitely with the intention to hurt. As with real life law, there's only so much the rules of the game can capture regarding shitty ways to achieve success
@Diagonal_Fleece even without the paying, that hit was with the intention of putting Warner out of the game, and they achieved that. And that is a legal but shitty way of getting success, that's my criticism.
When ever I think of this game. The first thing that comes to mind is Bobby Mccray bringing the wood, and laying KW the **** OUT! “If your gonna be a defender, you had better defend yourself” and what a game by Reggie!
Thank you! I could never find a good highlight video for this game
2:43 Bush juke move right here is
😮🔥
Tim Hightower and Adrian Peterson, two future Saints were on the Cardinals and Vikings, wrong team at the wrong time 😂
And score opening touchdowns in both playoff games but doesn't matter we still won em both AND the Superbowl.
DAMN they were such a power house then i wanna see that saints again
Reggie's best game in New Orleans
I swear the highlight quality makes it look like this game was played in 1989 instead of 2009
Reggie was him this game
Man I was there…..what an atmosphere that Dome!! Bobby McCray laid Warner out!! 😂😂😂😂😂⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️
The sound of the superdome crowd...I almost forgot what it sounded like since the stadium is always empty now :(
It never gets old...WHO DAT!!
Back when Bree’s was slinging that rock
2:38. Bush being a god.
09 Saints takeaway machine.
Also I hate we got hit with the "bountygate"... I mean it's like boxing! You play til the whistle blows (protect yourself at all times). There's no player targeting stigma when you make a crack back block or get blindsided or decleated... Always felt like the NFL had it in for us.
Not the NFL it's the refs who don't like us
. what bout the famous no call on the rams. We definitely got cheated out of our second SB appearance 😮
Wasn’t there literally footage/ audio recordings of everything tho? Like the saints coaches/staff were putting bounties on certain players to influence the defense to try and injure them. I feel like that’s the problem. If it was just that they were playing hard then sure, but they were literally targeting, can’t get anymore blatant than that.
It was later proven they did have it in for the Saints because The NFL wanted another team (in the NFC conference) to go to the Superbowl instead of the Saints. Roger could not show evidence that the Saints were accused of, but like a mob boss, Roger charged and penalized the Saints organization without proof according to the NFL rules.
This was back when I thought the NFL wasnt fixed.
Flashback to College Reggie Bush
Kirk Warner retired after that beat down 😢😢😢
Bush was one of the best ,if not the number 1 running back of all time 😮
NEVER FORGET DREW ONE OF THE BEST EVER!!!
Ahh, the days when mediocre linebackers like Scott Fujita were considered our defensive team captain.
As bad as a head coach he was for us as a whole, Ditka's Saints defense was pretty damn good, all things considered. Zaven Yeralian was our Defensive coordinator during those years and I wish we had him now
Kurt Warners last game 😢
From 2009-2020, we should've been in the superbowl at least 4 times total including 2009 superbowl win.. I don't know who many superbowls we would have won, but definitely at least made it to the SB... 4 times.. without a doubt 2011 season should have made it.. The offense was better in 2011 then 09.. But anyway I'm still pissed about the rams nfc game, right there that miss call kept us out the superbowl an the rams had no business in SB..
Sharper was a ballhawk.
My god...Bress was so deadly..
Saints liked to play from behind sometime 😮
Cool intro lol
Impressive 1st offensive play 70 yard dash TD play for az even tho they got destroyed😭😭
Wish you could get the Patriots and Redskins games next.
The patriots game got blocked, but you can find the redskins game on NFL throwback
@@wyattbdv that's cool. Do you by chance still have the video tho?
Gabriel D. Matthews II yeah, I have the video but it’s blocked worldwide so I can’t make it unlisted or anything. The 2nd half is completely copyrighted so maybe I could try to just put some music in the background of the 2nd half or just have it muted, idk
@@wyattbdv I feel like the Patriots have something to do with it being blocked, tbh. idk y
@@LilGabe504 maybe their best sideline taping tactics were on full display.
My very first Saints game I went to!
2:40, SHEESH
CARD DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE IN HELL TO BEAT MYSAINTS😮
The Sharper interception should have never been blown dead. He never had possession of the ball until "after" there was any contact. Bad quick whistle.
2:42
LOOK THAT
Bush best game
Let go cardinals
Bush was sorely misused and underutilized for his entire saints career. This game was just the tip of the iceberg of what he could've been. He even averaged 5 yards a carry the next year, but only had 70 attempts. People didn't think he was a between the tackles runner bc Payton always put him in space. But if he would've gotten a consistent load instead of running RBs like Hamiliton, a Bell, he would've been an all timer. Him and Pierre both
Reggie was not a bruising back but a speedster and Payton knew this. If you know the dynamics of pro football tactics, according to what team you play and the available players, you use them according to the other team's weaknesses.

Can't forget that. Coming from a Cards fan, hated seeing 13 take that shot.
That shit was hilarious man what you talking about I keep replaying it over and over 😂😂😂😂
@@49ernightmareyour an L of a human
5:40 You can see number 93 cheap shot Kurt Warner and then get congratulated coming off of the side line. You should never congratulate someone for blind side purposefully hurting a QB. Disrespectful and cheap. Saints with out the bounty gate don’t have a Super Bowl to their name.
Every other team headed for greatness target the opponent's players (making big hits) but the Saints are not allowed to do it too?!?
@@thetruthisthis1301 Saints took it over the top. That’s why Sean Peyton got fired for a year.
@@primer3458 That's not in the rule book as a violation😂Sean was suspended for a year (not fired Roger can't fire no player) It was Roger's jealousy of the Saints that he wanted to stop them from gaining momentum by breaking up the team and accusing them without evidence of wrongdoing.
You seem bitter and must be a Cardinal fan.😂 The Saints weren't going to be stopped that year bro.
Love how every saints fan here slurpin em off ignoring bountygate, even though that was the play that ended Kurt Warner's career. Buncha criminals under Peyton and Williams.
That juke move at 2:45 thoug!!... Filthy
#bountygate this team will always be tainted when it didn't have to be
Seening Kurt Warner get rocked was hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's cold but,I like it 😮
Ah yes, one of the games where Bountygate was on full display, ending Kurt Warner's career.
Need a tampon?
Kurt got LAID OUT
It was bounty time for the Saints, they won that superbowl but the league's punishment probably made them lose a second one with Payton/Brees.
Nothing like bountygate to cut short a career
When Hightower scored that TD I thought we had this game. Boy was I wrong. Then there was the dirty hit on KW which sealed the deal. There's a reason why the Saints haven't been to the Super Bowl since and they've lost in some creative ways: karma.
Nah we just be choking lately next year well make a run when were healthy
@@DMkizzy did you see our opponents for next year? Bucs, Saints, Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs, Eagles, Patriots not to mention the Rams and 49ers. All playoff teams or teams knocked out of the playoffs on the last day. We're going to be lucky to win 9 games next season.
