Electric Callboy are working on their Feel-good-metal, I guess. Everything they made so far with Nico makes me feel good. It’s so uplifting by poking fun of Genres, stereotypes and drag us back to the good‘ol time. I’m completely fine with this, cause ‚hello old friend. It’s been a while since I was a teen.‘

I get the feeling that nostalgia was deliberate here. Did you notice that all the mikes and instruments are plugged, rather than wireless? It was still a thing in the early 2000s. Also, all the references to high school and outfits - they wanted to make a song from their childhood, and I'd say they did a fine job. Is this going to be memorable years after? Probably not. Is it fun? Sure it is. I kind of like how Electric Callboy do not take themselves seriously, and they have no pretence about being a too serious of a band.
12:17 the completely nonchalant delivery of that was the funniest thing I've seen on UA-cam in probably weeks. for once, *I* had to pause because I couldn't stop the laughter.

If you ever get time for it, I highly recommend Andy Cizek, he’s the vocalist of Monuments, Makari, Wvnder, and Termina. He definitely warrants a video imo, the new termina song would be a great song to check out, but there are plenty of others.

I’d love to see you do Signal Fire by Killswitch Engage. It’s a couple years old but it has both singers in it and such powerful screams! I’d like to learn what their different approaches to their harsh vocals are. Both great but different even doing the same type of scream.

Hey all as sb from Germany who realy enjoys metalcore bands - I knew "Eskimo Calboy" for some years. I saw them at several festivals - I always thought... ok...nice band, but get me another drink. Then Covid19 came, they switched their 2nd singer.. and MAN DID THEY EXPLODE!!!... a different style - NO!!! I DO LIKE TECHNO - but their vibes where awesome since then.. And now they are gettin to some oldschool Sum41 or Blink 182 Stuff? I am blown away.... this is like "Skater Boi" ft "Fat Lip".. great song, great appreciation of their musical background!

Personal shit aside, I recommend Conquer/Divide on their own. Kia has an an amazing voice and Janel sounds awfully similar to Courtney.

I'd say for me the conquer divide parts evoke early Avril Lavigne more than Paramore. You should check out some of their stuff though, the bassist has some great harsh vocals

When I heard this song for the first time yesterday I got paramore vibes and her voice sounds alot like hayleys. Which is early 2000 pop punk and very nostalgic.
And I also hear harsh vocals in the background I think in the bridge right before Nico starts on the chorus.

I was a arrogant, pompous contrarian in my youth. I hated most of the stuff that was popular with other kids and teens and couldn't allow myself to like any of it, especially the Boy Band stuff in the 90s and the Pop Punk stuff in the early 2000s, but now, to my own surprise, when I hear this band do stuff like that (including the Boy Band style segment in Hypa Hypa), I suddenly like it and feel nostalgic about it.
A Callboy To Remember. The starting riff sounds a lot like “Savin' Me” by Nickelback, maybe same scale?
Would you have a look at Draconian, say, “Bloodflower” or something more recent like “Lustrous Heart”?
