Every once in a while Electric Callboy need to release a song like this just to show they can be serious. Obviously, this isn't a serious song, it's just them having a fun time playing a catchy song but it's enough to stop people from thinking they're just a funny meme electroni-core band.. and I'm totally ok with that.
I hit like before I was far enough into the song to see if it had a weird twisty breakdown. staying within a mould is for cookie dough.
They do. Hate/Love was a good one. Not my favorite though. They keep reminding us not to put them in any box bc they can do it all...

For those that don't know, Conquer Divide is going on Electric Callboy's US tour later this year. They won't be at every stop, but they're at a good chunk of them. So there's a good chance they'll play this whole thing live with both bands (or at least both singers) if you live in the US and you want to see them on tour.

EC were good before but with Nico, damn they took it up a notch. And I think the reason they are so attractive to us right now is that they revisit their and our youth styles while just having fun. It feels like the get up in the morning, feel a certain way, doing a song in that feel, then going to bed and no-one knows what they're waking up the next day feeling like...

I love this song. I don't even have a ton of nostalgia around the 2000's pop/punk stuff. Didn't listen to a lot of it. But this song is just so damn catchy and good. I like that EC can do so many different styles and keep surprising people like this.
Also this song introduced my to Conquer Divide and I'm a fan. Their music is great.
When the song started I got Blink 182 vibes and when conquer divide came in, I feel they were channeling Avril Lavigne.

I came across Conquer Divide a couple of months ago and have loved everything I heard so far. They definitely usually have a much more metal-core sound, but maybe I just haven't listened to enough. I guess I'll listen to them exclusively today and see what else I can find. As for this collab with EB, I loved it. Great upbeat song, good energy, nice to see Nico get to stretch his vocals a little more. I can't wait for the new album!

Love this song! TBT blink -182, Avril Lavigne, Sum 41. Those where the days! Also like it that EC sometimes take a different direction. Like the time when Hate/Love came out: very good song, totally different (vocally and visual), and just like this song maybe a little too short ;-)
I appreciate how EC shows that they can put out great music whether it's in their current dominant genre or in something else entirely. Look at the acoustic rendition of Pump It. Doesn't have the same energy, but still a great song. I think it's not only good, but important that they release songs which are divergent from the course. It allows people to see their true range, and also allows them to keep the inspiration fresh.
Example: Go find Weird Al's thoughts on not renewing his record contract. He was so pigeonholed by that contract, forced to write X number of songs in specific styles per album, that it can cause creative issues when you're having trouble making it work out.
Should definitely check out more conquer divide. All female metal core band that is just amazing

Not gonna lie, I thought it was Leighton Meister(sp) halfway through the song.But style wise, when they come back for the 2nd half of the bridge she really sounds like Haley Williams circa 2007. Great song...wish it was a full album like this sub 3 minutes is just a tease.

Leighton Meester actually has music of her own too, not this genre but if you ever wanted to check it out it isn’t bad.
I don't think nobody gets the subtile JOKE!!!!!!!. This Video and Song is a tribute and maybe even a parody of the early 2000 pop punk aera or even high school musical. But it's so catchy and will be a banger and singalong on every Concert :-)

I think as a rule we (as music listeners) need to stop genre-locking bands. Since 2020 a lot of bands moved their content online, also a lot of artists that were just doing online shit (UA-cam, Twitch etc) became more visible. So now there is a huge amount of Artist-to-Artist exposure, internationally. So people are really able to connect to vastly larger network of artists and creators. This is gonna cause a lot of interesting crossover effects.
TLDR: Stop genre-locking bands. COVID => Internet Content. More artists doing crazy shit to come.

Bums me out they took this route. The whole adtr, state champs, etc sound is overdone. I know you guys liked it. But the whole starting the song with the chorus thing is so bleh. And this is so generic. And the girl melodies are literally just avril Lavigne . Surprised Travis Barker wasn't on this.
