That’s exactly why I got the twisting soufflé. Leave-ins are just that. Leave-in conditioners. You need a styling product after that. I’m trying Mielle to see if I can find anything as good as my honey child type 4 hair creme.
Yass so glad this is not the ordinary review that most UA-camrs are doing. I wanna see/know the difference with all 4, cuz the way my bank account is set up, chile I aint gonna be able to get all 4 lol. I like this kind of video versus the voice over, as your personality is BOMB.
Creams give definition to hair that doesn’t need a strong hold. Creams give u a soft and voluminous wash n go. While gels give you more of tamed sleek kinda look. I prefer creams over gels for my wash n gos
The Leave in and smoothie are more like "layering" or "base" products. You would usually put your stylers on top of these. The Twisting cream and custard are more like "stylers" . (I put quotes on these terms because you are allowed to use these products have ever you plz)
I'm glad that you showed us all 4. Although the leave in was not an actual "styler" it was still beneficial to actually see what it does. I think sometimes we get too focused on labels and instructions that we forget to "do our own thing." Hey someone may only have a leave in in their closet and thinks she can't achieve a twist out just because she doesn't have a "styler"...and thanks to your video, we can clearly see it's achievable. Not perfect, wont last as long- but still not impossible. Sometimes we need to just relax and LIVE. Great job!
I actually just tried the curling custard this wash week and so far so good ! It does say on the container to use the mint oil (or any oil ) before using it to prevent flakes so in all fairness I think it’s worth a try using it the way they suggest. I have been a huge fan of the twisting soufflé since it can out and I can get a whole week out of my twist out ! Thanks for the review 🙂
Bria I appreciate the multi product review. However, to review a leave-in conditioner as a styler doesn't makes sense because everyone knows that you would layer the leave-in with another product and not use it as a styler
damphatty I was thinking the exact same thing I just bought the pomegranate and honey leave in and smoothie today because I was going to use them in conjunction with each other, when she said she was testing all 4 as stylers I said PAUSE lmao
I have the entire line as well. The curling custard flakes soooo much! i just use the leave in with the twisting souffle on dry, stretched hair and i have awesome results for my flat twist out
I just recently tried their Leave-In along with the Twisting Souffle and it left alot of flakes in my freshly washed hair. Unfortunately I had to throw these products away. My hair felt like straw after my hair dried. I'm really disappointing in the results especially after all the major hype. :/
CrownJewels Oh no you threw it away. You could have returned it. So you used the leave in conditioner with the soufflé? I’m surprised it left flakes. Was this only two products used on wet hair. Thanks I may reconsider getting it..
I used the curling custard and it flaked so much on my freshly washed hair. I really wanted these products to work. I am very disappointed and I bought the whole line. It smells great was the only plus.
AqsoulX I tried the soufflé on my daughters hair at night braiding it in plats. It smells amazing and really moisturized her hair and left her hair amazing. Then again, I used my own leave in conditioner I made and then the soufflé. Btw the baby is 2 y/o.
I tried the leave-in and the curl smoothie, I love both. I have 4C thin hair with low porosity. I do the LCO method: liquid (water), conditioner (mielle, only 1 at the time) then oil (coconut). I do NOT experience flaking. My hair is moisturized for days. Mielle is honestly the first line i LOVE.
@@sabraabraham253 nope but now I do it on damp hair. I wash my hair, remove water excess with a t-shirt, apply the leave-in, then the oil. The oil seals the hydratation so your hair can't be dry when you apply it. Sorry for the long answer 😅
This was a good idea for a video. We don't get to see this type of video. It's really good for any naturalista or new naturalista. Great and infornative video.
i know this is old but i love that you reviewed each product because sometimes i don’t like layering my products including the leave in which actually keeps my hair moisturized and defined for at least a week and just spray it with some water and a apply a little bit more of the same product and make it stretch for another week
This has to be the most informative video I have found as a newbie in this thing I am so tempted to buy everything thing in a product line and use them all together thinking I need to, but after seeing this looks like you just have to find which styler works for your hair and then use a leave in conditioner/oil. Am I right??
the bottles usually state the kind of definition you will get so im not surprised by the results. Leave-ins are essentially stylers with no hold. some ppl use them after a rinse out conditioner if they feel they need a primer with more moisture prior to styling. the smoothie is meant for soft definition and more volume or for ppl with finer hair that don't use a lot of product. the twisting souffle is a lot thicker and has a semi-deep definition which some ppl prefer for twist outs and braid outs. the custard gives more definition and ppl tend to use it for wash-and-go styles. you tend to see a film or gel cast if you use it with a leave in or if you use a lot of the product on the hair
I used the custard after applying the leave in and oil and saw a ton of flaking a few days later. Can that happen from applying too much of the custard or leave in? Or could the oil have been the issue?
@@jocelyndeloney I would follow the instructions on the packaging. You can use with just leave in and custard or use the custard alone. If u used too much of either you will get flaking. The oil isn't necessary there is already oil formulated in the leave in and custard. The extra oil will likely decrease the definition you want to achieve if you are doing a wash and go
I use the custard and soufle together and don't get many flakes but I always do it on wet hair despite what the directions say. I had more flakes with Eco styler gel. Great video, thank you for breaking down everything because it is hard for me to notice the difference when I try to compare myself and I don't want to be a product junky.
I agree, I just recently bought the entire line and had so much flaking...I'm snowing! The custard is a no for me. I wish I would've watched this before my purchase.
Use a ton of castor oil and your favorite leave-in conditioner with any gel or custard and you will never see a flake. I coat my strands with castor after my final rinse and after my leave-in. Flakes be gone. Good luck.
I really enjoyed how you demonstrated each product separately. I have so many of these products and I'm not sure what is what. Are they used together or can be used separately. Sometimes when I use together my hair is too heavy. So thank you very much.
Thank you so much for this! I just bought the custard and smoothie yesterday and I was wondering what the difference is. NEEED to see that wash and go with the custard!

Thanks for the tutorial! I did wonder about all the different products and the difference each one has on the hair! You nailed it! I was trying it for the first time. I brought the spray white leave in conditioner and the white cream soufflé! I did a twist out on my daughter’s hair who works at a bank! However she decided to keep it twisted and wear in a ponytail! I’m trying to keep her from putting tracks in her hair! She wants to give her natural hair a break from the flatiron! You where very effective in your demonstration of the different products! Thanks a lot!!!
Glad to have come across this video... I was super confused when I went to purchase a product from this line. I read all the details online and was like all them say basically the same thing. I like the new trial style of video... I love your hair and thank you for being honest... I was excited for the wash and go video until the bad new at the end

The custard made my hair sticky, gummy. Maybe I used too much. doñt know
Why would use a leave in conditioner as a styling product?!?!?! You should have used it in addition to with a styling product!
I was nothing but dizzy from trying to keep up with this video *.*
Tried the custard it was a No for me.
Can you share why it was a no?
@@jocelyndeloney I should try it again, last year I didn’t know what I was doing. No custards worked as a WNG for me But now I have mastered my WNG and I now like custards.
@@Listen2me400 really?! What have you done differently? I'm just learning 😌
@@jocelyndeloney I now combine my gels. In order for the custard or botanical gels to work the way I want them to I add a gel with a heavier hold on top of it to make it last.
@@Listen2me400 ahhh gotcha. Thank you for sharing
I love your lips...
You are very beautiful. Wow
