    I used this mousse for the first time this week after watching your video a few times. Mielle has really good affordable products that my hair loves. I love the volume and fluffiness of this mousse. My curls are simply enhanced and not sculpted looking. I don’t like that. It’s also soft to touch. Oh and I’m using ouidad shampoos, conditioners and leave-ins thanks to u! LOVE the scent! I’m learning so much. Your videos are great❣️ Keep up the good work!

I have a few more mielle products to try out (more like try again because I haven’t used them in years but I have used them before) and I’m excited because the mousse really did exceeded my expectations. If you ever go back to using creams, the Fantasia Curly&Coily Curl Activator Cream combined with the Fantasia coconut/Argan oil curl custard is a game changer. It applies like a cream/gel but dries like a mousse with more moisture and better hold and no flaking.

    I love all ur wash n gos but this was was my favorite! I was big on finger detangling only up until like a month ago. I broke down and purchased a tangle teezer and I have not regretted it one bit. It makes the detangling process and removing shed hairs so much easier! Even when I’m doing my mid week water rinse I use my tangle teezer to smooth and detangled my hair while I’m in the shower. It has been a game changer!

    I was never a fan of co-washing. I never found one that cleansed my scalp. I need my scalp to feel clean.
    Something I did that helped me get more in tune with my hair. I went a month without using any products that had polyquats, silicone, or silicone alternatives. I truly know what my hair feels like and how products perform on my hair. I now limit my products that contain those ingredients. My styling products work so much better when I limit my exposure to those ingredients.
    Alot of these brands are claiming silicone free but using silicone alternatives, which essentially do the same thing as silicones. Have to be careful of build up.

      Why not just use a clarifying shampoo? That will solve a lot of your problems with silicones and heavy ingredients like jbco, shea butters, and stearyl alcohol, and guar (yes all these build up similarly to silicones).
      Use it once a month. I use hair grease(not much of a wash n go girly now) and a clarifying once a month helps...that is the purpose of shampoos, yoy clear away all the stuff that builds up on your hair so you can put moisture back in.
      I'm in my case, I use clarifyier that has sulfates. I believe you can use a sulfate free one as long as it has c13-14 olefin since it is also good at removing silicones in concentrated amounts.

    100% get what you feel about finger detangling. I tried it for a while when I just couldn't find a styling tool I enjoyed, but I was more frustrated because I have so much hair. When I saw Afrikanhairgod suggesting his Denman, I didn't look back. I do still take my time and will put the brush down for more tangled sections, but it moves so much faster with the brush.
    The Mielle Mouse is definitely one of the best on you so far (of the videos I've seen of your mousse series, I'm just kind of taking my time and going in order). My mom bought it last week for her own hair, but I ended up using it and loved it. but I've only used it for a twist out

    The Felicia Leatherwood is a great tool especially the newer version. The older version the seams were fought but the new version they smoothed it out and it’s more flexible the plastic they used. I will say though I never use it as the first and only detangling tool. I think it works better as a second layer or final detangling after detangling with fingers first or a brush like the Phillips Flexx/ Flexy brush or a brush of its kind. I’ve even recently returned to try the Kazmaleje paddle brush as a first detangling tool and my hair is in much better condition as well as my technique has gotten better to where using that then Felicia works the best. At times I only find the Kazmaleje paddle brush necessary. As always I need the Conditoner water ratio to be frothy and slippery enough to reduce friction and be able to glide the tool through.

    Your hair looks bomb. I don't co-wash very often. Usually, co-wash more in the summer or when a style does not work out. I use Oyin Ginger Mint co-wash. If I wash too often in a week, my scalp gets sore.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  Рік тому +1

      That makes sense. I don’t put the conditioner directly on my scalp. I concentrated it on my hair, but I understand the scalp soreness for sure. I don’t have that issue anymore but I used to when I would cowash with actual cowash products. They still seemed to cause dryness in my hair, yet build up in my scalp.

    The only time I cowashed daily was shortly after I big chopped. My hair was extremely dry so I started following the Curly Girl Method. I cowashed daily with Tresemme Naturals (a silicone free conditioner). But I literally just washed and went. There was no definition, it was just a TWA. I knew that once my hair became hydrated enough, I would start to see definition. Fast forward 13 years, I am…like you…going through some things with my hair. I think my hair has changed, also I got lazy for a bit and wasn’t washing it like I should. I too am active, so now I wash and style twice weekly. No refresh or reapplication of products in between. Now that my hair is longer, it is a balance between keeping it well hydrated and cutting down on the manipulation. I really enjoy trying new products, so I’m experimenting with new regimens as well. I watched this video in preparation for trying a mousse wash-n-go (I’m team gel all day, every day). Good luck and I wish you many, many, many good hair days!

      @@BrittanyMia so I tried it out twice. First time my hair was soaking wet when applying the mousse, so it dried with NO hold. However I refreshed it the next day and it had great hold. I would say medium/soft - similar gold to design essentials, but more moisturizing.
      The second time around I let the leave in sit on my hair for a good 5 minutes with a plastic cap and squeezed as much water out my hair so it was more damp than wet. After applying the mousse It dried with a medium hold and great moisture. I used about 1-2 pumps per section. I work in small sections (slightly smaller than your sections) my hair is very dense and coarse. The slip was amazing.
      I’ve tried many mousses including the design essentials and Camille rose. But this one is top two with aunt Jackie’s mousse. Aunt Jackie’s mousse doesn’t have as strong of a hold but it gives more volume on day 1 and is very moisturizing. I used it with the eco slay deep conditioner which can also be used as a leave in. (That’s the best leave in I’ve used. My hair tends to be on the drier side, so good moisturizing products are always a PLUS PLUS for me)
      So I can’t decide what’s my favorite mousse right now, but it’s definitely between aunt Jackie’s and treluxe. I’m going to experiment with the eco slay deep conditioner as a leave in with the tre luxe and see how I like it then.
      Also I live in MS, where it’s typically humid.

    I love how you're experiencing everything I promised with cowashing lol. It really does just help curl pattern and moisture level. Heavy shampooing and detangling are the biggest impediments to curl pattern. I TOLD YOU VERBAITM... 'the more hydrated your hair is the more juicy and defined and easy to detangle it is' and here you are weeks later having the same realization lol.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  Рік тому +1

      I think it does do just that. They’re all different, but this mousse with a botanical gel for a little more more hold would hold up great. Alone, I just feel like it depends on your shampoo, conditioner, and if you choose to use a leave-in or not. And also just your hair in general. In high humidity I feel like it would only last a few days, depending on how much are outside.

    I had been thinking about trying the Mielle mousse and as always your video is coming at the right time because Ive been looking at reviews to make a final decision. I’m waiting for you to get some sponsorships because you’re out here influencing the girls!
    I’ve noticed with mousse, shampoo, conditioner and leave in (if you choose) is very important. Like most other products, it can greatly change the outcome of your hair. For the more conditioning ones I find that the most basic wash day enhances the performance of the mousse (for me). For some of the ones you’re on the fence about, maybe you could try that?

      I agree. It really is all about how you set up your hair for success for the styling products and technique. Choosing the right leave-in will for sure put the nail in the coffin on how it turns out (if I’m using one, which of course now I am). I’m gonna revisit some of the mousse I’ve already used alone with leave-in as you mentioned because I think the Doux Bee girl specifically would be 💣 with a leave in.

    Would you try a wash n go on towel dry damp hair and spray with water? Does your hair start to itch after working out?

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  Рік тому

      Oh, I don’t think so honestly. The thought of doing it on towel-dried hair and having to wet my hair again with a spray bottle or something just sounds like a lot of work.
      My scalp sometimes starts to itch because the gym I work out and it is very hot and it gets really humid in there. Which is really a big reason why I would rather reset my hair after a work out because it just feels nasty sometimes but not every day. I also sweat a lot on my scalp and since I walk to and from the gym it’s just a lot of sweat lol. The itching isn’t out of control, but it’s just a little bothersome, and I’d rather not deal with it.

    Now you know I don't believe in cowashing, and honestly it's a waste of product! Because if the strand is never fully cleansed, then you're never actually getting the full benefits out of the conditioner. Which makes me ask, why you used the k18, into the treatment? Also, why you choose to scrunch in your conditioner, as opposed to smoothing/squeezing it in? Lastly, I think I'm always asking these questions, because your technique is just... different, & yeah idk

    • @BrittanyMia

      I use the K18 for what it’s made for, bond building. I like to scrunch the conditioner in to make sure that it’s mixed well with the water. I also smooth it in. I’ll stick with my cowashing because it’s working for me right now.

      @melisajbeauty Рік тому +9

      Sorry to butt in. I love seeing all your videos as well, especially these mousse series, but not at the detriment of your hair. I think you may end up over manipulating , and there is such thing as over moisturizing, or wetting your hair too much which may cause hygral fatigue. Since you do workout, a mid week cowash and weekly shampoo is should be sufficient. If your hydration level is good, and you find,a good styler combo that gives you the definition, hold and volume that you want, your wash n go should be able to last at least 3 to 4 days even with working out.
