- Saúl “Canelo” Alvarez looks back on a six-month suspension in 2018 after testing positive for clenbuterol. He attributes the low percentage of the substance in his system to eating meat and notes how the sport has since updated its rules so that trace levels of clenbuterol are legal. The world boxing champ remembers his opponent Gennady “GGG” Golovkin pushing the narrative that Canelo was using steroids and how that disrespect motivated him to victory against GGG. Out of all the fighters who have pissed hot or had tainted blood then denied all allegations Canelo is probably the fighter I believe most. Listening to his interviews and hear him speak about how important living clean is to him especially from growing up in an environment where he’s seen first hand how drugs can ravage the body and mind i truly believe he would never shoot up or ingest something willingly knowing it’s a banned substance. His dedication to his craft has created a monster that all of his opponents have to stare across the ring at and wether you call it ego or just incredible self belief that confidence in his own abilities would never allow him to cheat. Canelo’s pride and honour really comes across in this interview so why would a man who truly believes he is the best feel the need to chemically enhance himself. Great interview from start to finish amazing to get an insight into his mind and get see him in a different light, I totally agree with him if Prime Mayweather fought Prime Canelo it wouldn’t even be close. Canelo knocked out Kovalev ffs at light heavyweight.... I mean come on could you imagine would he would do to Mayweather

the thing so extraordinary about this interviewer is Which really shouldn't be extraordinary and be common with other interviewers. is he never gives his opinion he only asks questions in such non threatening way even about the worst topic and lets interviewees tell their experience...so the other guy never feels threatened... listening should be the first skill an interviewer should have

Graham showed he is not trying to be against him or press him, he gave Canelo the opportunity to speak on his behalf for what happened there, not accusing him nor was there any tensions. @@acetofresh1 Not every punch counted in the stats actually hurts. Not even the power shots. The stats don't capture subjective things like the way he rolls with those punches by turning his head. There's like only one video of Canelo getting seriously wobbled by a punch on the whole internet, and he's never been knocked down in a pro fight. The man doesn't get hurt.

He lost the first fight with Golovkin, everyone knows, but they will never give it to someone from soviet union. Second one was draw.
That was a great win for Canelo, best of his career. I thought it was a very close but clear points victory.
Nobody ever did that to GGG, went head to head with him and brawled and backed him up and hurt him at times. It was incredible. Canelo also took Golovkin's punches well, because he has a granite chin.
Im a big fan of this guy but I still stand behind that GGG beat him in the first fight. And how he spoke about Golden Boy and what type of promoters they are, that they only care about themselves, I believe that they would do something like bribing the judges.
Golovkin won the 1st fight. 2nd fight was a draw. Corruption at max when that bitch from 1st fight scored for canelo and also with that much margin. Golovkin brought the fight to him. And then the canelo drugs.. Golovkin will always be a blemish in this guy's record.

Canelo said he did his research or knew about tainted meat *after* he tested positive. And? He can't eat Tacos or Meat from the street of Mexico because "oh he rich"? He can't eat it in some mid tier or regular restaurant? American laws are not the same as Mexican laws in which they have no laws of preventing Mexican farmers from injecting clenbuterol on their cows. NFL also doesn't want their players to eat beef from Mexico or China because they can test positive for extremely low amounts of Clenbuterol by contamination and not actually Doping.

GGG dominated Canelo in the 1st fight and got robbed by the judges. The second fight was a close one. I suspect Canelo would have got knocked out if he fought GGG a few years earlier instead of ducking him for all that time since GGG was already 35 the first time they fought.
