In my opinion, perhaps the reason Benavidez, Charlo and Andrade haven’t fought each other is because obviously someone will take an L; meaning now they’ll have a loss on their resume, giving them a less likely chance to fight Canelo, putting their highest payday at risk. That means only one out of the three guys will get that big payday, if they fought each other. If one became superior out of the three, this will corner Canelo to take the fight, truly limiting any excuses. He does have a point though. Just my opinion…

1. Benavides is Canelo's MANDATORY, Canelo did not earn the WBC belt on his undisputed run, it was gifted to him, David actually EARNED that belt TWICE, and NEVER lost it in the ring.
2. It is ILLEGAL, for any fighter to hold the WBC belt HOSTAGE, for this long without defending it against a mandatory that WANTS to mandate his title shot and fight for the belt, Canelo only gets away with this due to the FRANCHISE BELT, he requested at 160 to dodge Charlo and go undisputed at 168 with no WBC mandatories.
3. Without the franchise belt David would have been able to activate his title shot long ago, which would mean Canelo would have to face him or vacate the WBC belt, this is why David said in a previous interview that if Canelo is not going to fight him he needs to VACATE the WBC belt so he can fight another willing opponent for it, Canelo has now fought outside the division and lost, and fought a guy who NEVER fought at 168 for the belt that David DESERVES, to fight for, GGG has done NOTHING at 168 to deserve a title shot, David has 3 TIMES NOW.
4. Canelo has fought PLENTY of fighters who have done nothing in their careers, including in his prime fighting opponents who were not champions and brought NOTHING to the table, and who he did not have to fight, and ignored much better opponents to fight them, examples, Rocky Fielding, old washed Kovalev, Avni Yildirim, James Kirkland, etc.
5. It is a complete LIE, when Canelo says he represents Mexico and he won't fight Mexicans, almost ALL of Canelo's early opponents were Mexican LIGHTWEIGHTS, who Canelo forced to move up to welterweight to fight him when he was already far below his natural weight at welterweight walking around 180+ outside of fights; Canelo has never had a problem fighting Mexicans HE KNOWS HE CAN BEAT, now the problem is you have 2 Mexicans in David, and Zurdo he does not know he can beat, it's just a LIE, to hide from the fact and not admit he is ducking.
6. You cannot represent Mexico by not fighting Mexican fighters, you are HURTING you own legacy, your own fellow Mexican fighters who need opportunities to advance their career, your own Mexican people, because they never get to see who is the real best of their national representative fighters, which is a shame, so many all time great fights were between two Mexican fighters, Canelo is a disgrace to more than boxing; and that also goes for most of his fans.

The problem is, nobody will fight Benevidez. He doesn't have his pick of the lot Like Canelo does. People can avoid him with little repercussion, so to say nobody has fought him is kind of dumb.
Canelo got his pick of the Lot by having good promotion. It’s the same why the Eastern European fighters (unless you’re a HW) don’t ever get big fights in the states or the UK bc they’re too dangerous with little to no reward. Canelo also got his shot bc he was able to secure the fight with Floyd, again due to Golden Boy promotion. That brought him stock in name and promotion, just of fighting Floyd. Look how many fights with big names he secured after that fight. Now with Dazn and promoting himself he can do what he wants. Benevidez is not getting good promotion, if he was guys would be constantly calling him out just for the money, win or lose. When you don’t have good promo, which brings that money, you won’t be getting big fights unless a big name fighter decides to give you that chance.
