I was really excited thinking she was listening to the song... then I walked out and she was watching an episode of "House". I asked her if she liked the song, and she said "not at all". I went from excited to disappointed so fast 😞
I bought this album when it was released in '97. I was 14, and my room was very much a 90s room... glow in the dark stars hanging from the ceiling, black light posters on the walls, and multiple candles. I would light my candles, put this album on, and lie on the floor while listening and "looking up at the stars". My parents thought this meant I was super depressed, but really I was just having a great night experiencing the music. :)
Love that you appreciate the work Nigel Godrich did on the mixing, like when you talk about how wide it sounds. As an audiophile I can't say enough good things about what he brings to the work radiohead does. It's hard to beat Radiohead on a proper HiFi. Definitely enjoying watching you two experience Radiohead together. Such a unique band.

He’s so lucky to be discovering this now. Started listening to radiohead in middle school and its still my favorite. Every album is special to me, and i feel like Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, and King of Limbs are super underrated. I hope you guys do them too
Thanks for watching Sarah! Definitely going to do videos on the other Radiohead albums. The King of Limbs holds a special place in my heart. I love that album.
You shoulda seen my reaction back in 2000 after waiting 3 years for a new RH album and being greeted with a "WTF is that" moment .. I was so angry .. took me a while to see the beauty in it.
Your guys’ bond is amazing. To immerse yourselves into some great music together as father and son listening to Radiohead is truly a divine thing. Kudos to the both of you for maintaining such a relationship and making these videos.
Great review of one of the greatest albums of all time. I went to see Radiohead on their OK Computer tour in 1997 and they were amazing. Truly mesmerising. My favourite Radiohead album though is their 1995 album The Bends. To me that album is perfection! One of the rare times where I love every single track on an album. There's no filler. It's a masterpiece from beginning to end. The first time I ever saw Radiohead was when they were promoting The Bends in 1995. I saw them in a small venue in Northampton, England and I wasn't sure what to expect as I didn't have the album yet (it had just come out a week or so beforehand) and was going mainly by the first single they'd released from it, High And Dry. Before then I knew their song Creep and a couple of other tracks but that's all. I'd never bought their first album at that point. On the strength of High And Dry I bought a ticket to see them at the Roadmender Club and was in awe from beginning to end. They totally captivated the audience throughout. The song that really stood out for me at that concert was Street Spirit. Spellbinding, ethereal, hypnotic, I completely fell in love with the band during that gig. I've been to many brilliant concerts by many great artists during my life and I can safely say that Radiohead at the Roadmender in Northampton in March 1995 is my all-time favourite! I remember still being in a daze at work the next day. I found it hard to concentrate on anything, that's the effect Radiohead had on me, haha! I would so love you to react to The Bends, if you're able to. I guarantee you will love it as much, if not more than OK Computer! :)
I really loved how your dad was mind blown after hearing Paranoid Android. The very first time I heard the song was when I was around 8 years old or so at that point of time I really didn't dig the song although the music video was crazy for me to watch at that age, however when I listened to the song again (very random btw) when I was like 15 that was the moment I realised Radiohead was something else.
By reading through some comments, it seems I'm the only one who immediately loved Let Down. It's always been my favorite RH song. It's had me in tears more times than I can count lol.
Hey Jason. Let Down has really really grown on me and I find myself singing it out of the blue. So glad Connor introduced me to this album at this time of my life :) cheers 🍻
Greatest band of my lifetime! Wish I could rediscover them again- this album is way better listened from start to Finish uninterrupted. Such an emotional journey every time.
Talking about "missing things", as dad says. I love that there is music out there waiting to be discovered. I've listened to Radiohead since '97. On the other hand, I started listening to Slipknot last year, 20 years after they got popular, and I love them. (I'm 48, btw). Great series, this.
I listened to this album for a year and nothing else. I compair it to Bethovan's 9th symphony. Simply remarkable work. I like you guys since of humor. I actually laughed out loud several times. Thank you for what you guys are doing.
2 videos down and you and your dad are seriously doing Radiohead videos better than anyone on here. Would love to hear you both break down In Rainbows next, and I'm sure everyone else would too!
Watching these videos gives me new appreciation for these albums. I listened to a moon shaped pool after watching the last reaction and it’s like I was listening for the first time again after seeing you guys’s reactions. Can’t wait for more Radiohead!
I gotta be honest, I wouldn’t normally watch something like this. But I absolutely loved this video. I loved listening to both your views and feelings from the recordings. I’ll definitely listen to more.
This. Radiohead were commissioned a song for the Romeo + Juliet OST, they gave Talk Show Host instead since they thought Exit Music fitted better with what they were doing for OKC but the lyrics make much more sense in that context.
I really enjoyed watching a Father-Son fellow music lover reaction. I have been a Radiohead fan since The Bends, so my daughter grew up listening to it, and I have passed the torch. [Her podcast is called Like Spinning Plates]. Dad, better late than never. OK Computer is pure brilliance.
Do the rest of the albums in order of release so he can see the transitions and progression that culminates at moon shaped pool again :) I agree with your dad- I’m so disappointed in myself for not listening to them back then. But I am glad I’m finally on the bus!
I'm in love with these reactions! Your dad is such a charm, I love the humour between the listenings and the analysis for each track. It's lovely to see someone so deeply in love with a band this brilliant, it's truly refreshing. Love this channel guys, keep the good work up!
they're sound engenieering is so good that live in the concert no matter where you stand it feels like Thom Yorke is singing in your ear or right next to you.
Some other great albums from around 97: Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space - Spiritualized Fat of the land - The Prodigy (Also love Jilted generation) Urban hymns - Verve Portishead - Portishead (Dummy is also a stunning album) Mezzanine - Massive Attack (Any of their early albums are great) It was a great time for records and the corresponding gigs. Happy days! Another vote for In rainbows and the bends by radiohead. Amazing records.
Great stuff guys. Always brilliant to see someone listen to OK Computer for the first time. Takes me back. Funnily enough Let Down which you didn't like is my favourite.
Radioheads" music and songs are just simply timeless. 20 years later their songs are still just as fresh & relevant as when I heard them in the beginning. They are truly one of those bands that their songs and music grow on you the more you listen to them. I'm hoping they come back and release 2 or 3 albulms would be even better. Thoms melodies and Jonnys guitar as well as the rest of the band was & is truly genius. One of those bands that will remain timeless to those who give them a chance. The good thing about having not heard their songs back then is the fact that you now have very interesting music to listen to during this current stagnant time where there's very few artist now that in my opinion, people will still be listening to 20 to 50 years in the future the way they still listen to the Beatles and Zeppelin. Sadly there's alot of young people today that when asked, don't even know who they were.
I recommend that your dad check out some of the articles, literature, and even some of the more well written reviews of the album, that breakdown the meaning and significance of OKC within the larger zeitgeist of the human experience at the time of its release in 1997. The early years of the internet and related technologies were for the first time really starting to permeate society in a major way, and the potential side effects that this would have on the human psyche are explored in OKC. Themes like isolation, anxiety, dissatisfaction with the hum drum tedium of modern life and the work place, are all covered. (Your dad definitely picked up on this at one point, and his reaction was appropriate.) Honestly OK Computer is one of the most prescient works of art to ever make it big and become "mainstream." This is why OKC is such an important album. Not to mention the music itself, and the way Radiohead blended electronic elements in what is otherwise an alternative rock album. It had been done before, but not like this, and rarely with the success they achieved. I've also read many interpretations that explore how this approach to the music (alt rock blended with electronic elements) actually mirrors the overall theme as it relates to society and technology. Fuckin brilliant. Understanding the message behind this album, and especially during the time that it was released, really adds to its importance as a work of art, and justifies its status as one of the greatest albums ever recorded. Understanding the backdrop allows the listener to appreciate it even more. Also, the car crash theme that ties "Airbag" to "the Tourist," and brings the album full circle, is pretty badass.
In case you never heard or were answered re: Exit Music: The band was approached to compose a track for the closing credits of the DiCaprio remake of Romeo + Juliet, and that was what they came up with. I think it played in theaters but is only on this album, not the film soundtrack (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND). So, to answer your question, yes, they both died.
Great chemistry between father and son. Just subscribed. I'm a huge Radiohead fan. Seen them several times, and also separately seen Thom several times (with Atoms for Peace). But, here is a curveball for you (maybe), have you listened to Conor Oberst? Here are two albums to check out: Conor Oberst: Upside Down Mountain Brighteyes: I'm Wide Awake, It's morning.
Anything by Radiohead is worth doing. The bends is stellar and more rocky, and would provide interesting commentary (street spirit in particular - there's a famous interview where Thom speaks about how the song chose them to write it). Although ok computer is my fav album, fake plastic trees is my favorite song, so would love to hear reactions on that. For other bands, Interpol turn off the bright lights is a great listen. Sigur Rós nothing album is super emotive too. Also to say, the relationship you two have is quite beautiful and inspiring. Cheers for sharing x
Man this is gonna be additive. I usually don't watch reaction videos but this idea of a guy showing cool stuff to his dad is very satisfying to watch for some reason. Probably because my dad wants nothing to do with music and I love music and also write songs as well. You two have very nice vibe btw.
Lost my father a year ago, I would have loved to do this with him. He was a traditional Mexican man so it would have funny to see his reactions. Credit to you guys cheers.
Don’t feel bad. I didn’t get into Radiohead until my 40s. I listen to them daily now. They’re mysterious. You could never even attempt to guess what the next album will be like. Kid A proved that in a HUGE way. Happy you are a fan now! #oknotok
Thanks for your comment. This was a huge eye opener for me. You are right about being mysterious. I find I’m peeking around every corner of a new song waiting for a time change or diminished chord outta nowhere. Thx for watching & the comments :)

I really appreciate you guys getting together. It’s a really amazing thing seeing a father and son actually laughing and bonding. Hold on to your friendship. 😊
Re: Exit Music (For A Film), it was written for the Baz Luhrman Romeo+Juliet film, so the lyrics are based off Romeo and Juliet. Which means, dad's right...
"Do they die in this?" YESSS Exit Music (For a Film) was meant for the movie Romeo + Juliet (1996) but i don't think they took it for the movie. so yes, i'm pretty sure they do die in it
Have enjoyed watching dad discover all this great music and listening to the whole Radiohead discography. I bet he’d dig Talk Talk’s album The Color of Spring or XTC’s Skylarking.
Totally a grower! It's actually become one of my Dad's favorites off the album now just after a week of listening. He talks about it briefly in the next video that we'll have uploaded this week.
LOVE how at 10:45 your dad asks "do they die in this" because he got that chill - it is so brilliant because the song is directly inspired by Romeo and Juliet and the "(for a film)" in the title is referring to the songs use at the end credits of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet (1996) where, spoiler, they both die. Amazing that the song translates that feeling so well that someone who has no idea about that link sill comes to the same chilling conclusion:')
Trust me, Thom gets a fairly good amount of kudos for his vocals. There's a whole other side of YT channels, singers, vocal coaches, etc, that do vocal reviews and in all the ones I've seen they're pretty blown away by RH and the way Thom uses his voice.
It's great to see a father/son relationship like this. It's great that you can share music together as well. You have to review In Rainbows. Radioheads finest album 😁
It really is an awesome experience being able to share music together, I think we will definitely look back at these videos in the future and be glad we made them. As for In Rainbows, very soon! We just did Kid A and that video will be out this week, In Rainbows after that!
Cant be sad you missed out on it earlier, Think of how lovely this is with your son. I remember the very very small handful of stuff I was able to get my dad into that he actually liked and it was such an amazing bonding experience. Its been fun binging you two's videos

I was in my early 20s when I had the experience of diving into this album - and I haven't left it to this day. Each of the songs is connected with certain episodes, with people and incidents and feelings. It's more than love, the album is a part of me.
OH MY GOD!!! I'm here from watching y'all react to An Evening With Silk Sonic, and I can't believe I just stumbled upon another gem. It's so amazing to watch y'all react to OK computer -- it has to be one of my favorite albums of all time.
Have been following Radiohead since Pablo Honey. I have loved their musical journey through the years. Btw- This was the best alternative album of the year in 1998. Sublime!
Man I love this series.. I listened to radiohead compulsively during college and had to stop for awhile. Watching you guys listen to no surprises made me want to cry too
Loved seeing your dads reaction to this classic album. I was trying to think of another modern artist that is as unique as Radiohead to recommend, but it’s hard as hell! Maybe something like Silverchair’s Diorama (insane vocals, orchestral arrangements, etc). Another would be Matthew Good’s Avalanche. Julia Holter’s Loud City Song, Blur’s 13 and The Shape Of Punk To Come by Refused, would also be interesting to check out.
Firstly I love the relationship between you guys it’s totally precious!!! Here in the UK Radiohead are not fully appreciated I feel, but I’ve been a fan of them since Pablo Honey. If you guys could sometime react to the songs that were B sides to some of their tracks I’m sure you will not be disappointed. Songs like Man of war, Banana Co., Melatonin, polyethylene (pt 1&2 ), Talk show host, Killer cars, Meeting in the aisle just to name a few. Really don’t know why they didn’t put these on a separate album as it would still be a fantastic album!!!

Would love to see a reaction to something like Loveless, or maybe Deathconciousness ! These videos are great, keep up the hard work
I was just thinking about doing that with my dad!
@@newblue7183 those two are a must! Hopefully you guys can listen to them and react!
man a reaction to either loveless/souvlaki would be awesome!
Let down is so great. For me it sounds like coming out of numbness and finally hear the sounds again. The building up in the middle is beautiful.
I love this channel! Nice to see that Dad appreciating the music, but the father/son dynamic, the humor and the love there, is what keeps me coming back. Keep rocking, guys.

My son is only 7 now, but I can only hope that our relationship develops the same way yours has with your son. Great dynamic!!!

It’s not my fave off the album but I loved it the first time as well, didn’t expect for it to have to grow on to people.
Greatest band of my lifetime! Wish I could rediscover them again- this album is way better listened from start to
Finish uninterrupted. Such an emotional journey every time.
this was beautiful to witness
Your dad rules…and the relationship between you two is so refreshing.
Talking about "missing things", as dad says. I love that there is music out there waiting to be discovered. I've listened to Radiohead since '97. On the other hand, I started listening to Slipknot last year, 20 years after they got popular, and I love them. (I'm 48, btw). Great series, this.
Thx Ario
I listened to this album for a year and nothing else. I compair it to Bethovan's 9th symphony. Simply remarkable work.
I like you guys since of humor. I actually laughed out loud several times.
Thank you for what you guys are doing.
Thx ZT ! This is now one of my favourites! Masterpiece:)
Fantastic reaction guys!!!!! Please please please do “ In Rainbows” 🙏🏼
I was 19 when I first heard this album and it completely connected with my soul. To this day my absolute fav.
You guys are awesome and genuine. I’m super pumped for more content and to watch you guys succeed
Love this comment. Thank you for the kind words!
I gotta be honest, I wouldn’t normally watch something like this. But I absolutely loved this video. I loved listening to both your views and feelings from the recordings. I’ll definitely listen to more.
How could a musician miss this in 97? I was 46 when it came out. First group since the Beatles that have continually blown me away.
Guys, thanks you, great reaction! Exit Music is written for Romeo + Julliet movie, that's why the lyrics are dark
This. Radiohead were commissioned a song for the Romeo + Juliet OST, they gave Talk Show Host instead since they thought Exit Music fitted better with what they were doing for OKC but the lyrics make much more sense in that context.
OK Computer is the current generation’s “Dark Side of the Moon.” Iconic…

I really enjoyed watching a Father-Son fellow music lover reaction. I have been a Radiohead fan since The Bends, so my daughter grew up listening to it, and I have passed the torch. [Her podcast is called Like Spinning Plates]. Dad, better late than never. OK Computer is pure brilliance.
Do the rest of the albums in order of release so he can see the transitions and progression that culminates at moon shaped pool again :) I agree with your dad- I’m so disappointed in myself for not listening to them back then. But I am glad I’m finally on the bus!
Greatest album of all time IMO. That’s for reacting to it!
Thank YOU for watching us react to it!
Kid A and In Rainbows will be great videos
This is one of the greatest albums of all time.
for sure, and most people when you say that say..."how typical"...lol this album just backs up all its bark

It has a great sound and theme but I just simply prefer culture
I'm in love with these reactions! Your dad is such a charm, I love the humour between the listenings and the analysis for each track. It's lovely to see someone so deeply in love with a band this brilliant, it's truly refreshing. Love this channel guys, keep the good work up!
they're sound engenieering is so good that live in the concert no matter where you stand it feels like Thom Yorke is singing in your ear or right next to you.
I always found The Tourist loops back perfectly to Airbag in context

Some other great albums from around 97:
Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space - Spiritualized
Fat of the land - The Prodigy
(Also love Jilted generation)
Urban hymns - Verve
Portishead - Portishead
(Dummy is also a stunning album)
Mezzanine - Massive Attack
(Any of their early albums are great)
It was a great time for records and the corresponding gigs. Happy days!
Another vote for In rainbows and the bends by radiohead. Amazing records.
Mezzanine is the shit
Portishead and Massive Attack would be interesting
Nice list....love your taste.
Great stuff guys. Always brilliant to see someone listen to OK Computer for the first time. Takes me back.
Funnily enough Let Down which you didn't like is my favourite.
Y'all only had 100 subscribers at this point? unreal. Congrats on all the success, well deserved
(Your dad definitely picked up on this at one point, and his reaction was appropriate.)
Honestly OK Computer is one of the most prescient works of art to ever make it big and become "mainstream." This is why OKC is such an important album.
So, to answer your question, yes, they both died.
wait did it make ut in the movie though?
Thank you for reacting! This is one of my favorite albums of all time! Would love you guys to react to Porcupine Tree albums.....!!
Great chemistry between father and son. Just subscribed.
I'm a huge Radiohead fan. Seen them several times, and also separately seen Thom several times (with Atoms for Peace).
But, here is a curveball for you (maybe), have you listened to Conor Oberst? Here are two albums to check out:
Conor Oberst: Upside Down Mountain
Brighteyes: I'm Wide Awake, It's morning.
This is one of the greatest albums ever to exsist. Thank you.
This was an amazing experience and I have been playing this non stop since :)
Thx for watching Alicia
Can't wait to see you guys review more radiohead. Great content
Your dad's reaction is awesome haha. Love genuine ones on youtube where the reaction videos are flooded with people faking it for views.
Man this is gonna be additive. I usually don't watch reaction videos but this idea of a guy showing cool stuff to his dad is very satisfying to watch for some reason. Probably because my dad wants nothing to do with music and I love music and also write songs as well. You two have very nice vibe btw.

Let Down is actually one of my fave songs in the whole catalogue. I end up saying that for so many songs, so that might not be saying much :)
Let Down really grows on you. I remember not being particularly impressed the first time I listened to it. Now it is one of if not my favourite song of all time.

Re: Exit Music (For A Film), it was written for the Baz Luhrman Romeo+Juliet film, so the lyrics are based off Romeo and Juliet. Which means, dad's right...
"Do they die in this?" YESSS
Exit Music (For a Film) was meant for the movie Romeo + Juliet (1996) but i don't think they took it for the movie. so yes, i'm pretty sure they do die in it
Have enjoyed watching dad discover all this great music and listening to the whole Radiohead discography. I bet he’d dig Talk Talk’s album The Color of Spring or XTC’s Skylarking.
Great stuff guys! Now time for the best Radiohead album, The Bends :-)
Also, Parachutes is one of my favorite albums ever.
I listen to Let Down more now than I did 24 years ago
Now that's a grower,it's one of my all time favourite Radiohead songs
Listening to this album for the first time completely changed my outlook and taste in music. Otherworldly.

I was in my early 20s when I had the experience of diving into this album - and I haven't left it to this day. Each of the songs is connected with certain episodes, with people and incidents and feelings. It's more than love, the album is a part of me.
Based on the ones he picked out as loving off the album, I think he would definitely love In Rainbows and maybe not be as hot on Kid A.
Definitely a Bends more than Amnesiac kinda guy lol
Listening to the albums will change him. If he'd listened to Kid A first he probably wouldn't appreciate it like he would after hearing OK Computer.
Exit Music(for a film) was written for Romeo And Juliet-a Baz Luhrman film from the nineties then included on OK as they liked it so much.
Colin's bass on Airbag is just delicious ...
