    Thanks for this video tutorial. I followed all your steps and fixed mine. My carb is brand new, needed a little jet enlargement, new O-rings( black for the back side of the carb and the red one that seals to the engine block.) Done, fixed. Thanks.

    Fought a surging issue on one of these cards. Finally found by removing the white jet assembly (pry it straight out) then separating the assembly (2 piece) more holes will be exposed to clean out. Ran perfect after that.

    Great video, my trim mower started surging, but I didn't have time to go into the carb. I shot Seafoam top end cleaner with a 10 minute hot soak. Immediately stopped surging.

    It is the OLD MAN at Eliminator Performance, finally a recommended video that showed up. Have not seen you for a while since we have been slammed with repairs and just looked to see that you finally got monetized. Congratulations keep er going i think you will be surprised what comes in within a few years of keepin it going. Good luck and stay healthy. Those are the carbs that the choke lever needs to be ground back to eliminate sticking on the metal mount i noticed this mount is not slotted for the choke.

    Excellent tutorial !! It's excellent because of the caution you give about not expanding the main jet to much.
    I cleaned my carburetor and expanded the main jet to much. Engine would not start and had to buy a new plastic clip,$8.00. Wish I had found this video first. Fun fact, if a little bit bigger is good, a lot bigger is not better.🤥

    you should separate the two pieces of the white jet module.....there are 3 or more holes on the tube and they can get clogged....also I have seen guys remove the check ball and clean the tube from the jet to the ball because crap can get there also....i have a carb right now that i have the same issues as you and these tricks fixed it great...thanks....also one other trick I saw was that the choke lever was hitting the air cleaner bracket and causing the choke to stay open all the time...this was fixed by grinding the plastic on the choke lever to avoid interference with the bracket....unless someone showed this to me, I would have gone insane trying to figure out the "no-start" situation

    Those carburetors without the primer bulbs have a design flaw that allows dirt into the float bowl that no one seems to catch. Red o ring between filter housing and carburetor on the righthand side doesn't seal. Look carefully and you'll find it. Spray cleaner through that hole of disassembled carburetor and you'll see where all your dirt is entering float bowl and clogging jets.

    Do not drill the jet out. Use a small strand of copper wire to poke it clear and use carb cleaner and compressed air to blow it out. Drilling can ruin the carb. If it used to run right then started surging then the jet is the proper size and does not need drilling. The buildup just needs to be removed. Usually buildup from old gas.
    Also using a fuel additive lake Startron is the best thing you can do for your small engine carburetor.

    • @brantsmallenginerepairs
      @brantsmallenginerepairs  Рік тому +2

      As I said in the video, I already cleaned out the carb. Sometimes no matter how well it's cleaned, it still won't run right. Drilling out the jet of a carburetor that is not functioning after proper cleaning will work sometimes and sometimes you just end up replacing the carb anyway. Plenty of small engine mechanics use this trick. Feel free not to use this technique. Just giving a last resort option when proper cleaning doesn't completely solve the issue.

    In the absence of a small enough wire, would a can of compressed air work well? Thanks.

    • @brantsmallenginerepairs
      @brantsmallenginerepairs  11 місяців тому

      The reason for using a wire is to scrape any solid deposits from the jet. Compressed air is unlikely to do that

      @Richard Ybanez if it surges for a short time but then smoothes out then you wouldn't do this. This technique should only be used if you've cleaned the carb and it still surges.

    As your rings ware and lower compression you have to drill jet out to eat .0024/25 to have power and run right

      I do agree for older machines but this mower was less than 2 years old. I believe it's more likely the carb was designed with the smallest jet size to make this thing run. As soon as our ethanol-based fuels start sitting for any length of time in these plastic carbs, they start gumming up. I constantly have this issue with these plastic carbs. Thanks for watching. Cheers
