We decided to install a winch to help bring the material up the incline shaft and to also help load it onto the skip car.
The Gold is traveling in a thick conglomerate layer of black to red brown clay and is resting on top of a very hard layer of Caliche .

keep up the crazyness :) I have learned alot from your videos. Just bought a pan and a sift. have built my own sluice using regular rubbermats (working ok for now). I live 10km from several iron, gold and silvermines with rivers all the way passing 100m from my house. The best thing is that there isn't many prospectors here in Sweden even if we are the bigges goldproducer in Europe.

That swivel system you have is pretty cool, and now I think you need to add a motor to the cart so that way you're not lugging that thing to make life a whole whole lot easier

Congrats on that egg :) Okay, I have a question... I have been watching the videos on this drift mine, and you are following a placer deposit on "artificial" bedrock, caliche... You are finding nugget gold with a VLF detector, but from what I have learned from you, there should also be fine gold in that paydirt correct? Do you process the paydirt after detecting and digging out the big gold with the VLF? How are you doing that, milling the paydirt down and then running it through a Gold Cube?
Hi Richard and very good question and yes you are right there are fines that we find in the material after we dry it, crush it and run it through a cube . The pieces look like little tiny round balls of Gold and not much to look at. Yes we collect everything up and run it and we even made a video of us doing that too. If you like we can make another video of us running the material as that seems to be what people want to see.
If you made a video on extracting the fines from the paydirt from your drift mine I have not watched it yet... But I thought I had watched them all... I did see a video where you talked about using a Gold Cube, but I never saw the process... How long to dry the paydirt, type of mill, etc... If you posted this already my apologies, drop me the link in a reply. You might get me to go in on a chance to win that egg...

Jeff, are you following an ancient river bed? How did you find info on where ancient hold bearing rivers flowed?? I did some research in California around Randsburg but I am still learning and haven't found gold yet.

I am very interested in the prospecting of several mines located in be Lucerne Valley ca. I think I have the panning thing down. But, I was wondering if the best way to look and see if I got anything is by what type of light!?
Jeff~! i have a problem. we have platinum salts in micacious form how to get the silica which forms around the platinum is difficult to remove. we cant use standard means to remove the silica and the platinums are in mostly colloidal form covered by this siclica. Our Ore is testing out good platiunum paladium with Rodium. this summer well be prducing . When we do you will be welcome to Idaho County in Stites Idaho where nonexistent platinum is mined. ill even get you a platinum nugget.
