Thanks guys. Spring is here and so is gold panning. I panned an old creek bank and found 5 very small flakes/slivers. I haven't heard of anyone ever finding any nuggets or anything bigger but it has to be there. There's color in every pan!! I'm in a place where to creeks join and lots of solid bedrock down stream. Can't wait to get out again. I just bought a 36" sluice box after watching one of your videos but haven't had much luck with it yet. Water flow and positioning etc.. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Hi Jeff. I have never tried to find gold before, but I have been watching your videos with utter fascination. I really like the part when you told people to take their trash with them when they leave. I am a long distance mountain trekker. I haul other people trash out of the mountains when I find it. I hike in all the mountains of Nevada. I bring home little rusty treasures that have been hidden for who knows how long. Thanks for all your awesome videos.

You did not show or talk about the larger rocks in the clarifier. Do you not look in the clarifier for nuggets. Is it not possible there could be a nugget in this clarifier? Yes it would have to be large or gold which is bonded with a quartz? I know you said you were saving this, the material in the clarifier. Was this overlooked because it just not part of the video? Good Job

I have to pull out my gold teeth and throw them in the pan in order to get gold in my pan. I suck at panning that's why i gold mine with a minelab gpz

Looks like a fun hobby, however 1g of gold is worth about 37 bucks, so it's not really profitable unless you are finding like a gram an hour.
95TurboSol I would not recommend trying to make a living from gold prospecting. If you enjoy camping and the out doors it is something fun to do and who knows how much can be found? anyway it's better than most hobbies...

+thenekom The diamond industry has shifted to "man made" diamonds the natural ones are still have some value but the man made ones have few flaws so they are now widely excepted.
this was only one pan. you could do like a pan every 5 minutes if ur good enough
+Tony Iocca tony you are right . but that nugget is worth about 150.00 on the right gold chain maybe a little more Gold is where you find it , you can go hit and miss and then all of a sudden when your ready to stop working a hole and then give it another hour or so and hit a pocket you were ready to walk off of and leave it for another man to find . the founding father of the GPAA .. ( George Buzzard Massey ) a few years before he passed if I remember right hit a pocket of placer and took over 260 some ounces , I believe his sons were with him when he hit the strike . but you know it all adds up at 1300 an ounce a couple ounces a month is good money threw the summer , you retort ( smelt ) it your self get rid of the impurities the man that buys your gold has no reason to doc you for the waste .. Aint that right Jeff ...
LOL, Hey Jeff, That "Come on, let's go!" It's so goofy, but it got me through the night at work last night in the freezing wind during a January arctic blast where I work. I was freezing and fumbling components in my frozen, burning hands. I could hear you saying that, "Come on, let's go!" It's one of those irritating things that you can't forget. Here's a tip for you....cover your camera mic with a wind screen. A piece of thin felt or nylon stocking will do the trick.

To prevent small grain gold from floating and thus being tossed out during panning process. Gold floating will run out of the pan jet dry break surface tension and allows the gold to sink to bottom of pan.
