Hi Chris .....we know the feeling and now......... you need to carry a sample bag with you in your vehicle...This way when you are driving around and see something that looks like it could be hiding the Shiney you can check it out . Make sure to keep track where the samples came from and clean out your Gold pan on every sample so as to not cross contaminate your sample.

Jeff Williams thank you so much for your videos! I have been watching them and used the techniques you showed me about looking at a wash from were rain once poured and flowed and I chose a specific spot to pull out a shovel of dirt and pan it out. I paned liked crazy until all was left was black sand but just to my surprise I found a small SMALL I had to USE THEM TWEESERS TO PULL THAT SUCKER OUT but it was gold! It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From Tempe AZ Thank you Jeff Williams! I cant wait to to back out when I have more time and really dig into it. I'm also gonna re enroll in geography so hopefully that will help me learn how the ground slides around the way it does!

Bought the book Fist Full of Gold, I'm about 80% through it. It is quite good and has detailed descriptions of geology without being overly technical. Between this book and your videos , I'm starting to get a good overall grasp of gold geology and deposits. Here in Texas we don't have a lot of gold bearing deposits, except for some schists, but there is some detailed information about those as well.

Pennsylvania has fine gold..The Cornwall Mine in Lebanon County mined out 67,000 oz og gold and 443,000 oz of silver. The Grace Mine in Morgan Town in Berks County mined out similar amounts. The States on the east coast that produced the most gold was N. Carolina and Virginia

oh yeah it's a beauty and yes I do see the dolomites stalactites or stalagmites or whatever Andy Hall Professor Jeff you have really done it again I noticed your meticulous methodology and your explanations and descriptions make it quite clear to the close listener and Keen Observer because you were not digging down a quartzite vein separation zone or other you were following the layers of the basic composition of the geography congratulations and thank you again professor and God willing and the creek don't rise you will keep your wedding band on and away from the detector

I had already got the book "A Fist Full of Gold" .A Dave McCracken book Mining in the 21st century. Had a book called "Buried Treasures of the United States, this book might be old, but it has prospecting and metal detecting in it.

Jeff , your geology vidios are outstanding. I gave up in the early 80's because of lack time and no proper research of geology of the areas I was prospecting in. Recently I spent several days researching the areas I used to visit, unlike before blindly digging in a dry wash and hoping for a little gold, I followed lead and have gold my pan this time. Also would you Date your vidios, thank you.
