So, I think Nikki is just following the new trend of quiet luxe… it’s been rebranded to us style lovers as something to associate with the ‘height of sophistication’… right? It’s just an ego thing. Logos are currently seen as poor taste in this economy. So what is a luxe UA-camr to do..? ‘Oh I had an awakening and now I’m a mum I have seen the light… and that means I’m into quiet luxe…’ if one fake identity doesn’t fit try another… either way , the things we wear shouldn’t define us. Period. And the fact she’s saying this was how she felt shows shallow perspective… is this someone I wanna follow? Nope . Just a privileged person focusing on very unimportant issues ❤️❤️ great video girl xxx

Yes, a big part of me suspects that she’s just trying to maximize views by following trends, yet again, and doing whatever she thinks will grow her channel. 🤷🏼♀️ given the buzz she’s caused, I’d say it’s working lol!! 😂 🤦🏼♀️

I sold 3 of my Dooney and Bourke bags, and I regret it everyday of my life!!! Everyone has a niche of what bags they like, and how many they have. At this point I don't count, every bag I have is my love!!! I will be adding more!!!!

I can't help but wonder if some of these larger UA-camrs are selling their FREE bags because maybe they need the money or their sponsorship have decreased because of the economy. All of a sudden these ladies want to shame everyone about their collection and logo. What they are really revealing is that maybe they were never authentic in the first place about what they really loved.

If she’s having an awakening and wants to live a different lifestyle why publicize it! Just get rid of the items and live the life you want! I don’t have anything Hermes or Chanel. Well I do have some Chanel sunglasses and a wallet. I sold my 3 Chanel bags and have realized I’m not a Chanel girl.
I do however have a lot of LV, most monogrammed and I love it. I’ll never sell the ones I own.
Of course I’ve been “influenced “ to buy a few but also put a lot of thought into them before I buy.
I recently bought a really cute and perfect for me raffia bag in Hawaii. It was 50. I love carrying it.
I can appreciate anyone who collects bags collections. Do some have way more than I’d be comfortable owning? Of course. Like you said there’s no reason to shame the other creators.

I appreciated Niki Sky's video but felt it was excessive, I told my fiance that I was suspicious of what her game was (He didn't care but hey ho had to tell someone lol). Even Anna Bey is doing this whole "luxury is dead" parading with her own fashion line. That being said, I have I have found myself feeling at risk sometimes when I carried my logo bags. I saw a girl carrying a Chanel bag, front side towards passengers on the tube in London once, my only thought was "she's brave", because I carry mine with the logo side towards my body. I'm very conscious for the sake of safety.
That is a sad truth about the world we live in 😫 Nice things can make us targets. We just need to be smart about our whereabouts in any situation though. 😢

Good points, Cami. Crazy how much you can make with a large following! I watch a mix of creators from large to small channels. I just go by what interests me. I prefer the smaller channels bc of the community and high interaction.

I'm pretty surprised that Niki's videos got this much reaction. I can't really understand why people are having such strong reactions. She might be going through a phase, and if so, whatever. Maybe she buys them all back in a few years...maybe not. To each their own.
I honestly agree with you. I chimed in because I was like, whoa, ANOTHER reaction vid in my feed?! It’s so interesting the different things ppl are taking from it and the range of responses people are having. Clearly struck a chord somehow!
I was watching her video and my bullshit metre was going off the charts, I don't know if it is my genx cynicism, but it all just came across as being very contrived, very fake. I feel like this is just the lead up to a new business or sponsorship deal.

Honestly I watched the video before hearing about other UA-camr’s perspective on it. I think I’m very grounded and secure now, because I didn’t have a big reaction to it. I was just okay, well, good for you! Our society is very much into over indulging in everything, let’s be honest here. But, I love what I love, sorry not sorry. I don’t think I will change and I don’t even want to! If there’s something, I will never throw a designer bag into the trash, so it’s somewhat sustainable.😂 I just passed the days where I was comparing myself with others, I’m not there anymore, I know myself so much better than I was in my 20’s. As a soon to be 50, I am unapologetically myself. I can watch 200 videos about quiet luxury and getting rid of a whole closet, that I don’t think it will push me to do the same. And also, it’s almost sad that someone realizes at 30 ish that the most important is not our possessions but our loved ones. I thought it’s just a no say, that we all think this way. No bag or jewelry in this world matters more than my family and dear friends. I don’t need to be told that, I know it since I can walk. 😂

I’ve sold many bags that I genuinely did not love anymore, or they didn’t serve a purpose. I still have like 15 bags including no-name, CC, LV and Loewe. I will not sell these anytime soon because I’ve had them for years and with the price increases, if I sell them I know I will never buy them again. Plain and simple.
