  • This Building was engineered and designed for cedar plank siding with weathering steel wainscot and roof.
    Because of the location and the elevation we had to engineer the building for a 250 PSF Roof Snow Load. Our customer made the comment "it looks like it could take a direct hit" and we agree.
    For those of you just discovering us:
    Great Western Building Systems supplies high-quality pre-engineered steel buildings. On this Channel, we host videos of our featured projects, tutorials, how-to, tips and tricks, DIY suggestions, and answer frequently asked questions that new builders and customers commonly have. We hope that with our help anyone can learn how to put up a steel building. Many of our customers put their buildings up themselves, and this channel is a resource to help them every step of the way. Enjoy!

    Why are some building girts bypass and some flush?

    • @GWBuildings
      @GWBuildings  3 роки тому

      Hi Daniel, Girts and Purlins on can be made flush to move the rigid frame columns and rafters to the very edge of the building. This doesn't affect the square footage for the most part - it just gives more clearance around the heavy I-Beam framing. This building ua-cam.com/video/vGJcRjPRPVM/v-deo.html has a flush purlin and girt system. It is a good example of a flush system. Hope this helps.

    I'm becoming very interested in your work. Already in contact with you guys about a project. My main concern for a while has been the exterior look. I see that here there is a wooden exterior and ceiling. Is that also part of what you do or was that all the owner's side? What are the options for exterior texture and look? Thanks.

      Hi Prema, GWB Provided the structural steel framing and the owner hired a second contractor to deck the building and roof with plywood. The siding is Cedar, The wainscot and roof is corrugated weathering steel similar to Corten. Very Nice siding and steel.

      @@ericbeavers4769 I too am looking to get a building from you. Do you offer the Corten option, or one like it?

      @@markschneider4469 Hi Mark, we do not offer a weathering steel product but there are suppliers that run siding like this pretty much all over the country. I’m familiar with some. Mostly in the western states though.

    This beautiful building is just for equipment?! That’s a damn shame.
    I would like to do this exact building except a 2-story with mezzanine and with clear story roll up doors rather than the barn door style. 30’x 50’. I guess that’s really pricey, huh? Do you have finance companies you work with?

      We have a few finance company's that we can refer, but most of our customers have the best luck obtaining a loan from their local bank.
