I have a 6200 sq ft "barndominium" myself. With a 1250 sq ft carpeted and climate-controlled room for displaying cars and a 1200 sq ft shop for building them. The rest is living space. I absolutely LOVE it and highly recommend it for anyone who wants to live simple and play hard. They're not that expensive to build and easy to maintain. My only advice to anyone thinking of doing this is, don't skimp on the foundation or the roof. You don't want cracks in the floors or your roof coming off in high winds. I LOVE seeing other people's bardominiums, so thank you for sharing.

What is so bitchen is that you made it your own. So completely cool. My hubby and I build our house from scratch and it's everything we love. Took us 2 years. 6 inch thick walls, double paned windows, extra insulation in the attic and inside the walls of the bathrooms and laundry rooms for soundproofing. Reinforcements in the walls for towel hangers, extra electric outlets, every 6 feet instead of 8 feet, vaulted ceilings, solid steel core exterior doors with magnetic seals. We though of everything.
Wow man you’ve done an excellent job here so far I’m a retired high end home builder and interior designer and I’m wanting a barndominium now to live in and make it my home Your lot is in an unbelievable location as well your views are out of this world beautifully gorgeous GREAT JOB !!
These are the exact colors of my house, this looks fabulous. You are a great person for sharing these plans with all of us and the price is correct as well thank you so much!!! I am glad you have your dream home I have mine as well but now your vision is my next dream.
Literally similar to my dream home. I’ve always loved the warehouse look and the amount of space you can have if you were to build a home like one. Very open & simple.
Truly a masterpiece... I'd add an enclosed area in the shop for a few blasting cabinets and grinding, finishing and polishing provisions- but that's all personal preferences. This is ideal for y'all and the furbabies... LOVE IT young man, kudos to you and the Mrs.!
Love the house! For your office/guest room, unless you need the seating you might look into a cabinet bed. They are the same bed size as a hideaway bed but take up less space when put away. You can always add a couple of chairs or a small loveseat couch for seating if you want.
Wonderful design!! The colors and textures y’all picked worked so well with your surroundings. You walked into the bathroom and I thought you had a beautiful sunset picture on the wall….but it was a window. 😂 such a beautiful place to call home. Congrats!!

Greetings from B7! You can add two bedrooms off the balcony on a deck over the dog area and laundry, etc, and convert some of all of the storage into a bathroom for those new bedrooms. The storage can be anywhere and in my opinion, it should be on the ground floor to minimize carrying dead weight up and down the stairs. (west side lean-to addition?) Oh, and make it big enough and insulated for your extended food storage, etc.
Hi Tristan, thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us..l have watched this build from the start..you are so talented, some people don't know that you did a lot of the work yourself..l am so proud of you and the finishing touches that your wife has done.its just absolutely stunning T..Well done, and I wish you and your wife many happy years there.all the best and much love.
Hello Dereck, good to hear from you! Thank you for being here from the start you’ve always been supportive. We appreciate the love and enjoy reading your comments!
This is gorgeous. The only drawback I can see is you have to enter the shop area to access the up stairs and I would assume in the winter if you don't have that heater running in the shop that it is quite cold.
No way would I want to go into the garage to get to my bedroom. Floor plan was definitely designed by a guy & the garage was bigger than the house too 😂
Wow. That’s awesome. Looks like a 500-600k dollar setup. I like looking at stuff like this to see how poor I really am. Lol. Probably a million dollar plus setup including the land. Fantastic.
Look at that view 🥰-- had to send to my teenager and told him to be inspired. Viewing others creativity is refreshing but even better when it's generated from us.
The master bedroom and closet are great, I’d like to duplicate them. But when you walked into that bathroom…wow!! Exactly what I want in our future barndo! I love the black fixtures you all picked, the open shower with no step (we want ours to be wheelchair accessible), and I love the tub but I haven’t won that battle with my husband yet. The dog area in the garage is an excellent idea also, with the doggy door, so they can stay in there if they come in filthy. There are so many things I love about your barndo. You have a beautiful view, and it’s awesome that you incorporated so many ways to see it!
Fantastic work you've done with the place. My wife and I fell in love with it immediately. Thanks for cataloging your journey for the rest of us to follow!

Wow. Amazing - the best I have seen so far. Gave us some great ideas. We bought land- and we’re thinking something like what you created. Also- we wanted two floors but we worry about getting older, etc… never thought about putting the stairs in the garage area- perfect space for a lift to the second floor. Also- your second bedroom/office. Think about a Murphy bed- they make all different kinds- some have desks in front- others have sofas 😊 the best of everything for you and your wife.
Dang this is awesome bro. Almost graduated in drafting design from gallatin college and this is literally all I want to design are barndominiums just like this. Keep up the great work brother🎉
Move the planter boxes to the outer edge of the cement, that way you gain back patio surface, without losing the planter boxes,. they'll still close to the house & they'll seperate the wilderness from the cement patio.
.....and to add to Brian's statement, the plants in the boxes will flourish that much more with sunlight- compared to the shade being under the deck! Otherwise, good build, but agree with more patio space, walking area!
Exactly, who puts planter boxes next to the house, move them out lol, planters go under the window if you must put them on the house, otherwise, move them out like OP said.
If you remove the tongue and groove from the outside, you should re-use under the stair case/dog area to protect against damage that the dogs can cause.
Been fun following your build over the past couple years man really enjoy it you did an awesome job! Your wife's touch definitely added a nice look as well. As someone who grew up in a small split level house with six people, I still think you're going to need another bedroom in the future 😂. The beauty of your design is you can easily punch out the back like you said
This is almost EXACTLY the house I was going to build! Did you read my mind? All I would have done differently is have larger overhangs for more sun shading (I'm in Phoenix, AZ, so every little bit of shade helps a ton). Plus I was going to have a commercial kitchen downstairs, and all living spaces upstairs.
I'm laughing because, I live in Preston and we looking to build a shop house and I snow bird in Havasu AZ. We plan to rebuild our sea container home to match.
Really nice and great job! Your young so 2 story is fine my perference no stairs. My suggestions. Dishwasher next to sink. Would put a long step height eating bar instead of walk around island in kitchen. Wife would like inclosed master bath toilet (gas/noises). Washer/dryer on same floor as bedrooms. Put a fireplace/woodburning stove in corner w mantel for Tv above it and push room about 3ft-6ft for L shape couch maybe chair. May need w when friends/future kids. Just my prefetence but Great Job!
LOOKS AWESOME! I lost track of your channel, but watched all your videos when you were doing the build. I like the idea of adding a large lean-to on the side for storage of trailers and stuff. The more I think about my needs, the more logical it becomes to have one building, a shop with an attached house! It makes no sense to maintain two buildings now that I am getting a bit older and would rather enjoy life instead of taking care of multiple buildings and the 10 acres I currently have.
The planter box will splash dirt all over the side of your house from the rainfall... Lay a base of soil then top it with thick black plastic, poke holes in it for your plants, then layer the plastic with #2 stone. That way you won't have the crap all over the side of your house from the splash.
As a builder for 30+ years I see the creativity and functionality. Amazing build. I have NOT seen your process on line. My ONLY question is the lack of fire protection separation from the living space and garage. That open stairway is suspect. Aesthetically it looks great. Please don’t take this as a criticism. I was also a volunteer fireman at one time. Can’t help it. 😂 This project is amazing and you should be proud.
The garage separation issue was my first thought seeing the interior shots with the open stairs and my only experience is watching TV shows use running cars in garages to unalive people.
That is the sensible form of "housing/shop/garage" there is. If I built new...that's what I'd do...other than my wife would argue with me on it. Great job!
Hi Christian, new subscriber here. I've been a long time follower of your father in law Heath over on Red Poppy Ranch, so when I saw you in one of his latest videos with Cheyenne, I just had to check out your channel too. So I did as I did with RPR and made a private playlist and chewed my way through. It's been a pleasure to see the evolution of your content, and of course to follow the progress of your house being built. So great to see that Cheyenne found a good husband as capable as her father to provide and protect her and your future family. There's a lot of similarities between you and Heath in my opinion, which shows the ideal of daughters looking for a man measuring up to their father and sons looking for a woman measuring up to their mothers. I wish you both very good fortunes, and I'm looking forward to continue to follow you on your jointed paths.
Looks great man, You actually inspired my design for my Barndominium! I love the videos keep them coming! You should also totally do a video on the new truck with a walkthrough of the mods you have done to it so far!
I absolutely love your home. It’s a perfect layout in my opinion. The outside I love although you send you’re going to change it. But I have question; at some point down the line, are you considering installing solar panels? The view is spectacular as well.
@@ML-sc3pt That's just false, they make up for what energy it takes to make them in about 4 years. You also should factor in that they will pay off the cost you initially paid by saving you money on your electricity bill. Additionally, some states offer tax incentives for installing solar panels so it's especially financially feasible. If your home has lots of sun shining on it throughout the year, it would make sense from a financial perspective to look into installing solar.
If space allows, would suggest building walls around the toilet and adding a pocket or sliding door to create a "water closet" for extra privacy. That way, someone can be showering or in the tub and someone else can access the toilet at the same time.
@@brokenwrench404 no matter how comfortable you and your woman are together, she still doesn't want you to watch her shit or vise-versa. unless y'all are a couple of animals or something..
Looks pretty sick. One thing I’d add would be a pony wall between the tub and toilet in the master bath. Run the tiles all the way along. You will be pleasantly surprised how much nicer the tub will look (not looking at plumbing and toilet. And when on the throne also a nice little zone.
Awesome, what a great place you and your wife have..I could do something like this but a barn instead of the huge garage and I would put a garage on the other side.
This is a rad house. Every man should have the ability to make things and fix things, and i really appreciate a house plan that thoughtfully integrated a thoughtfully planned work shop. House looks good, and my 2C is that the T&G looks nice, but thats after camera opinion and up front irl things can often look waaaay off. If you own the prints, you need to sell them. Its a slick plan.
The outside paint color looks fabulous. You have done an excellent job, we are so proud of you and all the work you have put into your place to make it a home!
Thank you so much!

Thank you! I like the way you think!
Quality build!! Your views are amazing. Thanks for sharing the final product.
May God bless your endeavors! I love your drive and care for making and providing a home for your family!
This project is amazing and you should be proud.
The garage separation issue was my first thought seeing the interior shots with the open stairs and my only experience is watching TV shows use running cars in garages to unalive people.
Rockwool insulation between garage and house I hope.
I'm literally in love with your home. Great job.
That is the sensible form of "housing/shop/garage" there is. If I built new...that's what I'd do...other than my wife would argue with me on it. Great job!
Ive always wanted a Barndominium just like yours! It looks amazing
Thank you!
As soon as you panned the valley I stared at the mountains telling myself this guy is in Idaho. Seconds later with the confirmation. Good stuff
Young man took the book on how to build a life an followed it word for word no breaks forsure a good young dude parents a proud
Looks great man, You actually inspired my design for my Barndominium! I love the videos keep them coming! You should also totally do a video on the new truck with a walkthrough of the mods you have done to it so far!
Good idea! Thank you!
This is great! WOW! Talk about an escape from the norm. Way to set the standard.
Man…… that’s really nice .I’m so inspired . Excellent video 👍🙏
Looks great! That view makes it 1000x better!
I absolutely love your home. It’s a perfect layout in my opinion. The outside I love although you send you’re going to change it. But I have question; at some point down the line, are you considering installing solar panels? The view is spectacular as well.
Solar panels literally take more energy to make than they output in their entire lifespan..
They're not worthwhile at all
@@ML-sc3pt That's just false, they make up for what energy it takes to make them in about 4 years.
That place is amazing. What a great idea!
The wood looks great as it is. Nice contrast to the color of the house 😅🎉❤
If space allows, would suggest building walls around the toilet and adding a pocket or sliding door to create a "water closet" for extra privacy. That way, someone can be showering or in the tub and someone else can access the toilet at the same time.
I was thinking the same.. If you could fit a small partition there between the tub and the toilet it would look really clean!
It’s a master bathroom. Why do you need privacy
@Brokenwrench Because no matter how much you love your husband/wife, most people don't need to see each other taking a dump.
@@brokenwrench404 single male?
@@brokenwrench404 no matter how comfortable you and your woman are together, she still doesn't want you to watch her shit or vise-versa. unless y'all are a couple of animals or something..
total cost?
I want a patio like that with a view like that when I am ready to settle down and get old...that is heaven to me
Such a cool and practical setup. You knocked it out of the park!
Looks pretty sick. One thing I’d add would be a pony wall between the tub and toilet in the master bath. Run the tiles all the way along. You will be pleasantly surprised how much nicer the tub will look (not looking at plumbing and toilet. And when on the throne also a nice little zone.
Agree. I was just thinking about the same pony wall to hide the toilet away when you are soaking in the tub!
Very nice setup! The Ford truck even has the best parking spot a Ford could ever need 😅😜
Right in the hoist. Amiright.
Unfortunately not everyone CAN do that, good idea though🤔
Looks great Christian!
