I FISH THE SOUTHWEST PART OF THE STATE. LOVE THE SKINNY WATER SIGHT FISHING. NEVER TRIED THE KYAK. LOOKS LIKE FUN. MY 16-50 FLAT GETS INTO 6" WATER. WHEN I RIDE ALONE. ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO. THANKS!
I'm I did really good in West Bay in Florida. My favorite bait was those big boy mullet. Almost big enough to eat. You get those ones you have to throw back unless you can hide it real good. 🤫
That last Bull Red....strike was epic....it was so cool watching her following the bait.....then she kicked it into high gear and trashed it real good!!! AYYEEE!!!!!!
Fished Delacroix, we found the redfish staged in a cove. We fished that cove for multiple days and landed them everyday. Some days they would eat anything and one of the days they wanted live shrimp. Deff a blast, it’s the redfish capital of the world!
Just subscribed, love your content man. I just moved to florida and I am OBSESSED with catching redfish. Just bought a shimano stradic and a st croix hoping to catch some this weekend.
Live in WI but fish LA every winter. I've fished PAC, Hopedale, Venice but most of my time is in the Port Sulphur area although I'm constantly looking for new areas to fish. I've had some really good days in the area you fished in this video. Nice job and tight lines!
What’s up Southern Salt! I’m in VA and the redfish are just as good and fighting and just as good as eating. I’m 19 getting back into fishing and I caught my first one not too long ago a little over 20-25 inches. If you travel, I’d love to get some bites with you. Good fishing 🫡
Why do I watch your channel it just makes me jealous! Your doing what I should be. I know, just do it! Logistics are tough but damn I gotta figure it out. Your livin the dream bro! Great channel! Edit: 40k subscribers you’ll be up In subscriptions in due time👍
hey Salt, im down here on the LNG project staying down near venice, I had my boat out here all summer but brought it home for winter. Was curious out of where your launching as I was thinking of bringing the Kayak and doing some short runs in the marsh. Could you help another capt with some direction so his arms dont fall off paddling?
In the 70’s I fished Buras out of Empire Marina. We would catch 200+ for three men get out boat and fish the bank in dames off canals. That marsh is all gone but the fish are still there.
Hey that place is awesome..I’m from Miami Fl always dreamed of kayak fishing in Louisiana. If you don’t mind me asking where did you stay I’d like to check out for any Airbnbs around that area to stay a few days
Whats your opinion between the Yo-Zuri , Strike King and the Manns Salwater wake baits. In your opinion, do ya think theres actually a difference in action and such? Thanks!
Never fished in Louisiana and I’m from Louisiana! Lol we are from south Louisiana around south Crowley Lyons point area! My family has passed on that lived there haven’t been there in a few years! Like to know where some good areas are to fish!
How often do you keep a redfish? They're my favorite fish to eat and it seems like the southeast US is in no short supply of them. I'm just getting into fishing and I plan to have redfish in the freezer as often as possible lol.
MARSH PUMPKINS!!!! I see you're in Louisiana, but haven't you made videos before of you in the Florida Panhandle? I think I subscribed from a video of you fishing Pensacola but not sure.
Man I wish we could still catch em like this here on the space coast… water quality issues and thousands of boats fishing the river and keeping little dinks that are barely legal pushed them almost completely out of the area, nowadays you’re lucky to maybe catch one lurking around a school of blacks
Howdy I’m kinda new to the salt and brackish fishing I started last fall and caught a couple of speckled trout and redfish, but I can’t catch them consistently. What am I doing wrong
Man that is a very complex question lol. Most likely you’re fishing areas that are not very productive during the times you are there but it is very difficult to know for sure.
@@southernsalt OK thank you for the advice but I have basically two areas to fish the creek that comes from the river and out on the boat dock on the river
Your supposed 2nd lure is NOT a yo-zuri 3db wake bait. It has a jointed body and a rear prop. Yours is not! So what IS the correct model you are using? We ALL would like to know. Your videos are always fun and easy to follow with your tips and bait challenges. BTW Louisiana IS a "Sportsmans Paradise."
🤦♂️ it 100 percent is a Yozuri 3DB Wakebait. If you knew the history of the Yozuri 3DB Wakebait you wouldn’t sound so mis informed right now. In 2022 Yozuri discontinued the wakebait I’m using in the video and re-branded a wakebait with a prop and jointed body.
Nice one brother! Y’all ever find yourselves down in southwest Florida area shoot us an email would love to have you out on our boat and film a collab 🤙🏼🎣
Never fished Louisiana - going in November!!! Hope to have your kind of day or better! This video was kickass!

Great Catch!!! What Rod and Reel are you using???
Chubby rods, 7’2” med fast
Born and raised fishing in louisiana. Favorite area will always be grand isle. Going on Monday.
It’s on my list
@southernsalt you'd love it there's a few roadside areas to launch a kayak on hwy 1 a few miles before you get to the island too.

We stayed at “Bayou Log Cabins” in Port Sulphur Louisiana
What baits are you using. I live in Charleston and I do a lot of redfish fishing
Nicely done!!!!
Thanks!!

Yo zuri doesn’t seem to make the 3db wake anymore
Does anyone have link to buy that wake bait lure? I tried searching but couldn’t find that exact color he’s using

Can you share where you bought this? I cannot find "Yo-Zuri R1146 3DB Wake Bait Lure" in stock anywhere. Thank you.

Those chubby rods how strong are they are they worth the money
100 percent worth the money! I’ve had mine for over 2 years and I fish multiple times a week. I’ve never had a single issue from them
Bro where can find this lure at? I can't find it nowhere online?? Please let me knows.
They’re dis continued now

Those Redfish look like Carp or Drum. Are they edible? Full of bone?
