After the '80s and most of the '90s, you know if Tom Hanks is in it, it's going to be great!!
We don't mention that Christmas train movie.
And the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
I have to agree!
@@shelleyking8450 I should have phrased it 'other' than the '80s thru mid- '90s.🙂
I just CAN'T get enough of this movie
Stories told inside a story
The saddest touching happy movie ☺️😔🤗
Great messages, great way of acting, great music atmosphere, great movie! Thank you, we need to see more stories like this one, full of love and hope.
If I want to see a grumpy old man, all I have to do is look in the mirror. Lol
I can sympathize with this character.
65 years old myself lol
@@terryjaster4771 If you are 65 and grumpy............then I say you have earned it!
I mean that in a good way.
This is a wonderful film. Tom Hanks has shown us what "everyman" is. It is not a "old man" moment as an excuse. It's the inequity of how Corporations control us.
Tom Hanks is an icon, real legend.
I just loved the check out! I always have the change figured out long before the computer tells the checkout person!
I can relate to Otto too well, I'm over 60 !
Then you are garbage.
Almost 70 here....I feel I AM Otto.
65 and I feel like Walter.
I'm in my seventies and I wholeheartedly understand where Otto is coming from-damn proud of it too!
Looks like Otto is ME.
Gosh he reminds me of my Father. He’s very no nonsense and all about technicalities
I'm 68 years old. I don't know how many times I've used simple math skills with a salesperson half my age while they were pulling out their cellphones to use the calculator app.
Oh so that was you
Same here. What will they do when the electricity goes out??
@@marvinmartin4692Use basic math, I mean I’ve been to the field without a calculator and I’ve done just fine
Not being a big Tom Hanks fan I really found this movie surprisingly well made. Best scene for me was the driving lesson. How often have we all wanted to pull the moron in the truck out of the truck.
Older people already know how to do everything and don't need unnecessarily cheerful attention, and they don't like marketing scams. Organized, truthful, and sensitive to how lazy and deceitful other people can be. Seems pretty straightforward thematically. Seems like a good person underneath the PTSD.
I get that - but get fucked. You ask anyone in the service industry who the most demanding, demeaning and most "YOU BETTER SMILE WHEN TALKING TO ME" people are and it's the older ones.
Your comment makes it seem like anyone who isn't an old person is fake, wants marketing schemes and doesn't "know how to do anything".
Tom Hank’s one of my favorite actors. Straight Legend
I watched the original Swedish movie "A Man Called Ove" and enjoyed it a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing Hank's version.
I did to
Just to see if it was better
Me too ❤
ive actually called my local newspaper to tell them to stop delivering those stupid ad flyers. they get paid to deliver them, so they refuse to stop & i get fed up with picking up what is by definition litter, all so a company can keep getting paid for littering on my driveway.
Loooove Tom Hanks!❤
I felt that employees pain… I’m sure all he was thinking was “what did I do to deserve this?!”
Thanks for the warning. I really appreciate it.
I was able to see this movie on flight to Mexico. Awesome movie. Watched again on return. Tom Hanks is great, but, Mariano Trevino steals the show
Her facial expressions are priceless!
Truman Hanks was exquisite....in his portrayal of Otto Anderson jnr
So was Tom Hanks. @@judiththomson8895
I saw it on a flight across the Pacific. Never would have otherwise. So glad I did.
I got roped in to watch with the opening scene. That is so my dad (82) and so me (62).
I provided excellent customer service for decades and so my best to fight the decline in service now.
🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ Huh?

Every statement he makes, ends with "idiot"! Hahaha!
Maybe him and Dwight Schrute are related.
Otto is kinda of a cross between the movie about the Swedish bachelor and Doc. Marten.
Gotta love a video like this. "We're not even pretending that this isn't blatant copyright infringement. Enjoy!"
Vudu themselves uploaded the same video so I think it’s fair game
He's like George Carlin on his last HBO show😂
I suppose he is 'reformed' by the end, but in these first ten minutes he's a man after my own heart. Why do young people act so dumb?
Oh shut the fuck up lmao. Young people are dumb - because they exercise, become peoples supervisors, can't - and to be quick fucking honest - won't change a system they aren't paid enough to worry about?
Y'all were the ones who voted in Regan, destroyed the economy and kept racism up to where it is now (assuming you're American, ofc). Nevermind falling for scams, staying religious and just being awful so the service industry. Anything else?
Love this movie
There used to be a chain of stores in Canada called Beaver Lumber. Their logo looked very much like the beaver here. I wonder if that's where they got the idea from or if it's just coincidence.
Busy Beaver is a legit store. There is one a town away from me.
How’s about showing us the next 45 minutes of the movie & save us the $10!
Yes ok I will watch this. I mean, it's TOM
As someone who lives in Germany, i can tell you that half the german population is like Otto...
It's a great story with acticng too. look foward to watching. The sweedish versidon is great too!
Proving once again that if you end up having to talk to people it's time to go somewhere else..
Lmao….I kinda get this guy. Might have to check this out
At 74 I can be an Otto at times and will argue the leg off an iron pot, however i have a great sweet side to me to in fact I can be very generous, but do not push my buttons, god knows what i would be like without my lovely better half
is this supposed to make me want to see the rest of the movie?
LOL. That's about what I was thinking. 😆
Did you watch it? 😂😂😂😂
@@SWEETLILLY2 no
Well, if you stop after the first ten minutes of Collateral, Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars, Mission Impossible, The Martian, The Godfather, etc., you probably won't get why any person would be interested in watching the rest, right?
I have not watch this movie yet, but it looks like a sanitized Saint Vincent
Definitely could see myself in Mr Otto.
What is the actor’s name in this first scene? The guy working there helping Otto?
Variation on -'About Schmidt!.
Tom
Tom
Hanks
Hanks
Definitely Beaver Lumber.
It's sold by the yard. Check twice, cut once.
I love how he’s such a prick in the movie but in real life he’s probly a super nice guy
The reason Otto keeps acting this way is because people are too nice and sweet and afraid to assert any form of aggression when confronted with a curmudgeon. This form of enabling allows Otto to keep being disrespectful to others.
Is this the same actor who portrayed Mr. Rogers ? ? ?
Yes
When your company is bought out by another company and "reorganizes" it's never good. So is there more to this movie then him being nasty to people? I most certainly hope so.
Yeah it’s based on a great book. It has great messages about loneliness in society, especially among older generations and picking up the pieces after loss.
I think I have Tom Hanks burnt out.
the beginnin of the movie buying the rope in the store is true in real life as each store has misfits and a store policy that makes no sense so welcome to the retail world of stupido
Ove?
lol.... _"oh no, robot, robot, roboooot..."_ bwahahahaaa
This is not a funny laugh though if you get what I mean! 🙂
I don't think so.
Service is the joke.
Like every foreign film that is re-made in America (see Shall We Dance Japanese version) the American made one is never as good as the original. Not terrible, just not the same.
Otto bots roll out 9:00
A
Man
Called
Otto
OK. O.T.T.O
just like me!!!
I'll pass
I’ve noticed this in many movies, where on earth besides Alaska is it daylight at 5:30 or 6 in the morning???
Well, I know I don't live in America but its light here at 5:30, in the Philippines.
In Quebec Canada in the summer it's daylight at 4:30 😅
In Kansas in the summer. Actually in the spring as well just before daylight savings time.
Uk in British Summertime
After only one minute of watching this remake, I knew immediately why I preferred the original, "A Man Called Ove". Tom Hanks has always been and always will be nothing but a mainstream hack.
Couldn’t agree more
He's a good actor
Idk man….
Finally a cure for insomnia!!!
I watched the film today was very Good, acting was good. Movie was entertaining I believe that's the Job of Actor's, sneaking in Trans done subtly, well done, Hollywood makes its money on entertainment. And allowing Actor's to perform there craft. Teaching is not one of them.
Ove
Good film ruined by the obligatory insertion if the trans story line, with the unsubtle message that anyone who disagrees with it is an"idiot"!
Wake up
Thank you, I'll definitely be skipping this piece of crap.
🤬
🤬

Brown guys i dont mean that racially 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😡

😡
😡
ahh yes another German propaganda movie....
I'll deal you one better. What kind of HUMAN can't do simple math??
My God... a remake of Gran Torino...did the same guy write both movies?
True, it's Gran Torino without all the racial slurs.
Watch how you talk about Clint Eastwood. Gran Torino was excellent
This movie was a disappointment. To think I figured if Tom hanks was in it It was good. Money wasted.
