This movie didn’t get the love it deserved. It’s just a nice little movie about people…no explosions, no magic powers, no superheroes. It’s exactly the kind of movie we need more of.
@@sinclairjg Good point. Remaking successful movies - especially foreign films - is tricky. I honestly hadn’t even heard of the original movie or the novel, so I went in with no preconceptions. I just really enjoyed the story and the characters.
This is a GREAT movie, very touching, warm and often quite funny, if you take Otto's sarcasm with a grain of salt. Absolutely deserves more credit and praise than it received, a sleeper hit!!
I skipped this one, because it seemed like Gran Torino Redux, with Tom Hanks playing Clint Eastwood. Now it seems it Tom Hanks playing Clint Eastwood, Hank Hill, and Andy Sipowicz rolled into one. Might have to give it a look.
It's Gran Torino but instead of an old man fighting off a bunch of gangsters that have moved in, it's an old man uniting a community against a fraudulent land grabbing business.
An under-appreciated film. I had my own doubts, but it got better and better. I’d rather have one film like this than 100 like Mission Impossible, and Fast & Furious, and so many other movie franchises that are 87% special effects. . . . And not much else.
If all of you people making these comments after watching the movie reacted read the book before the movie came out you would have been already aware of the problems ordinary people without any 'influencer friends' face in their daily lives everyday

I think there are a lot of people who have seen A Man Called One and probably stayed away for the love they had for that movie and the book.

There are times we need movies to escape the harsh realities. And there are times we need movies to inspire us to fix them.
Otto is a pusscake compared to Walt Kowalski
100% Agreed!
I love how Otto becomes a sort of father figure for Malcolm. :)
Otto gave Malcolm a couple of friends and a job helping video for Shari Kenzi; that was probably more valuable than the car.

Oh yeah! Later on when Ruben moves his eyes and cracks a smile -- the greatest!!
Tom Hanks should have gotten his third best actor Oscar for this movie.
This movie felt like a return to form for him after how awful his performances in Elvis and Pinocchio were
One of my all time favorite movies! God how I love this movie!
How can you not love this movie!!!
I love the, you're not an idiot speech ! Classic👍
0:42 Otto's face of 'i really DO want some coffee first' 😂😂
This movie was so unexpected and wonderful!!
Such a great movie.
This movie and as good as it gets are two of my favorite movies! Hollywood still makes great movies!!!!
It's a great movie. I recommend watching it 😊
I would love to live in a development like this!! 🏠 ❤
Just keep out the HOAs!
If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor.
In mind, Malcolm temporarily moves in until he finds a better place and eventually becomes a teacher 😭
Any of you who like this move need to watch the original Swedish movie as well... it's actually better.
Oh will do , thank u , really loved this movie , it was a good kind of cry
Will do. Same name?
@@MovereStories No, Ove instead of Otto... but yeah, title translates to "A man called Ove"
@@Oddball_E8 thanks

If you haven't yet, I'd definitely recommend it!
I would love to see a live action king of the hill
Otto found peace when he discovered that maybe humankind was worth fighting for after all. Cold people are not born, they're made.
This is a charming movie, but not sweet, not saccharine.

Well and I just found out that you refrigerate eggs in the USA..
They do some kind of cleaning that makes it necessary
I'd have said No to those eggs.
It's the richest kind.
I liked the original Swedish Movie of this. It had more soul
This is one of the worst, most predictable movies I've seen in some years. Hanks is all wrong for the part. I can still smell it.
Oh yeah? What’s your favorite movie then? Probably some overrated crap like The Godfather or Wolf of Wall Street.
it was not the worst for me but i kinda get where this is coming from. did this really need a hollywood remake?
We loved it
@@angy_thomas (Apparently Americans don't like reading subtitles)
Really? I quite enjoyed it really!
