This scene made me cry so hard the first time I watched this movie. That's the baby he raised and lost. He taught Gage to walk, speak, and loved him every minute and now has to look his son in the eye one last time and lose him again. If I was the dad, I don't think I would have the heart to do it.
Yea I cried too 😭
I cried so much after his death-

This scene was so heartbreaking. He had to watch his son die twice. It also reinforces the sentiment, "Sometimes dead is better".
So it's okay for him to kill Jed though and innocent old man that did nothing wrong to him and then to eat his throat like that I wish that kid when it did something like that to my family I would have gave him more than an injection
-and then goes on to throw out all the lessons he learned and re-animate his wife

I may not be a father but that scene at 1:50 gets me crying every time I see it, hearing a baby cry either in pain or sadness breaks me.
I can definitely see the sadness in the father’s eyes when he does it and especially after Gage says “No Fair” 😭💔
Same, but when you have a son or brother who is as old as and alike cage, you can litterally feel the fathers pain like I did, imagine thatz your family child, IT HURSTS

1:49 demon possessed or not. Any parent who says this wouldn't have broke their heart and made them feel an ocean of emotion is full of it. I know most people either find this scene sad or scary, call me sick or disturbed I always found it kinda hilarious, especially at 2:09 when Gage was saying “No Fair…” and falls backwards.
I will admit that was kinda funny.
This is the cutest kid actor ive ever seen

That's the thing about these violent horror movies. They will always have some little element in them that will stand out and make you laugh. This is not the only horror movie that happens to have such a little moment. They're very noticeable so Ross you're not alone when it comes to morbid humor.
I get how you feel, because I had a similar reaction to a different scene in the movie, that being Louis’ screams after Gage is hit by the truck. Like, there IS a lot of anguish in them of course, but at the same there’s just something about his delivery of those three “NOOOOOOO!!”s, this slight hamminess that makes me unable to take it seriously.

Gage smiled to lure the mom in for the kill. Here it's trying to lure Louis in using grief.
I watched this as a kid and was terrified.
I watched this as a teenager and i was oblivious to the movie's meaning.
I watched this as a father of a 3 year old and i literally cried.
for a horror movie it has a pretty deep meaning... how loss and grief are normal parts of being human and although it is really painful and hard there are worse things than death
You think you're better than others because you have a kid?
@@James-if3kc chill
@@notanormal3250 no
@James you think your better because you don't have a kid?
It's a disturbing upsetting scene, but then you quickly realise he isn't killing his son, whilst physically its Gage's body. It no longer has his soul, controlled and fuelled by a force of pure evil.
This wasn't just about ending the evil's madness, it was humanely putting his son's body back to rest.
Louis's mind became fractured when Gage died, but unfortunately by this point once Louis injected the zombified Gage, his mind was completely shattered. Even going to the length's resurrecting his wife, knowing full well the consequences.
The Wendigo lol I read this book in 6th grade 9 years ago, once you can understand the actual plot, and the details, it's amazing
The Wendigo is wicked beyond words.
While controlling Gage he knew Louis wanted to kill him and he allowed himself to die at Louis's hands just to cause even more misery and horror to the griefstricken father.
Not only that, but after the poison was injected into his neck, just before dieing, he started acting like the normal Gage again, just to cause even more heartbreak.
Apparently he could make the ones that came back act normal...but he just didn't want to. He wanted people to come to the conclusion that "dead is better".
Sometimes dead is better.

But sad at the same time 🥺
Y’all are wild this kid literally just got done murdering the neighbor and trying to murder his dad. He’s playing ya
Yeah Gage's actor was literally a toddler, 2/3 years old, what a talented cute baby !
I can't imagine the emotional trauma Louis had to endure. The guilt he felt from losing his son by getting run over by a truck had he not turned his back for a second. Then to bring him back, knowing he has the power to and to watch his undead son destroy everything else he loves around him, then to watch his son die infront of him all over again but this time, the blood is on his hands now along with the other deaths too. He went from having it all to nothing at all, had he not step one foot in that Sematary would the curse have had never of followed him back home and he'd still be living a normal life, with a happy family. I would have went insane too.
It's literally just a movie. Touch grass plz.

Gage: No fair no fair

Yeahh obvious😄
Dang gage your a full on psychopath with that dead cat
This scene breaks my heart, and i don't usually cry during horror movies, but damn this one did especially when Gage looks at his dad after being injected and walks away.
Gage looked up at him and for a moment Louis saw his son-his real son-his face unhappy and filled with pain.
“Daddy!” he cried, and then fell forward on his face. Louis stood there for a moment, then went to Gage, moving carefully, expecting some trick. But there was no trick, no sudden leap with clawed hands. He slid his fingers expertly down Gage’s throat, found the pulse, and held it. He was then a doctor for the last time in his life, monitoring the pulse, monitoring until there was nothing, nothing inside, nothing outside.
When it was gone at last, Louis got up and sauntered down the hall to a far corner. He crouched there, pulling himself into a ball, cramming himself into the corner, tighter and tighter. He found he could make himself smaller if he put a thumb in his mouth and so he did that.
I read the book too
@@LadeeHornet93 dam thats some dedication

@@LadeeHornet93 Of course it’s from the book. But it’s one of my favorite passages from the book. It’s the Wendigo playing one last mind trick on Louis and it shows Louis falling into more madness and despair. His hope for his son returning is gone. His wife is no more. The look on the dad's face when he's injecting Gage makes me _cry._ The withdrawn pain and defeat of it all on his face. Wanna be more depressed? In the book, the corpse of Gage is inhabited by the Wendigo and it's implied that it has been pulling the strings to have Gage die. When Louis injects the morphine, the Wendigo plays one last cruel trick on him by having "the real Gage" come through and say "Daddy" before the corpse "goes to sleep". This scars Louis so much that he spends a good few minutes sucking his thumb (like a frightened child). His hair even turns white in the book. It's better conveyed on paper than in my description.
Omg this made me cry the baby face when he got injected

The hardest part of the whole book for me to read was when he opened the casket and held his body and talked to it. "I love you, Gage. Daddy loves you."

@@izzyboola8889 It was a demonic energy that reanimated his sons dead body. The demon does that on purpose to catch people off guard.
When the baby is too cute to be scary: 👁️👄👁️
The little cry whenever he poked him with the needle
It's a very emotionally conflicting scene.
Ultimately, the Dad did the right thing by correcting his mistake, but as a viewer, I still feel upset for the child, as he didn't ask to be brought back.
What happened was all the Dad's fault, as he knew the consequences after what happened with the cat, and even after having to kill his own Son, he still didn't learn his lesson when he resurrected his Wife.
No option dear
The evil spirit (wendigo) that haunts the woods and hills behind the family's house orchestrated all of this. They were doomed the moment they arrived at the house. The burial ground he took Gage to didn't bring him back, the malevolence that contaminates the sour ground brings the bodies back but not the soul. Gage never "came back". Louis basically started losing his sanity after seeing his child die and he is quite batshit insane by the end. He isn't really the one at fault here unless you're talking about him being a dumbass and turning his back on Gage while they were so close to the road, but then again that was also most likely orchestrated by the entity. They're all victims of a being they can't even recognize much less understand or fight against. That's why the story is so horrifying.
@@laurafreedlund2899 I agree with your explanation and I think is the idea expressed in the book. For fantasy purposes is useful to link the story to the wendigo in a kind of "folk horror". But what makes the story so scary is that probably any parent who loses their kid would do the same Louise did (if they had the information Louise had). We don't do it because we can't. Or as someone expressed briefly in the previous response to this comment: "No option dear" and she's probably right, there was no option to be honest.
My mom had me watch this for the first time a few weeks ago. Gage killed me. My baby sister is the same age as him and I couldnt imagine going through any of this with her.
I feel you 💔
I understand the most horrible pain in the world of losing one's child... yes that is sad. That's why the grieving process is sooooo important. Once a person is gone... they're gone. If you grieve correctly, you can go back to your life.
Having said that, Gage back from the dead was a hell spawn demon. Demons can Trick you by manipulating your emotions. He did this by the child-like noises, cries, and looks he gave his dad. But that's all trickery. After seeing his wife from the attic... you know for a fact that's not your son...
"Sometimes dead is better" is the tagline (and basic theme) of the film. But if you want the *motivations* of just about every character summed up........."no fair!"
Lol 2:10 "No Fair" gets me Everytime.. lol
