Stephen King almost lost his son on the road in front of the trailer they lived in at the time and he was so shaken by it that he wrote this story. To what extent would a grieving parent go to get their child back? Even if that meant dire consequences? The story is still the only one King says disturbed him to this day. It’s very close to home for him. What kind of insanity would a cause a parent to go to the extreme that Louis Creed went just to have his son back?
Awesome movie. Great ending theme song too. Ramones. This movie and Salem's Lot (1979) are deffo my favourite Stephen King story adaptations, even though they aren't like the books.
This movie is still disturbing to watch. I know it isn't perfect but its a hellva lot better than the remake. The book outdoes them both. Reading about Louis opening Gage's coffin was so detailed. First time a book kept me awake at night.
Alton Austin I really think there should be an age restriction on commenting on the internet. Children and stupid people shouldn’t be allowed on. Really it brings down the curve for the whole human race!
This story even scares Stephen King and he wrote the damn thing. It's the one movie he didn't complain about the changes from the original story or the remake either.
See i don’t understand why he would bring his wife back when knows that she won’t come back the same. I mean he just killed his cat and son just like twenty minutes before hand. Why did he do this. I mean he still had a daughter he could’ve been taking care of.
Simple: he wasn't in his right mind. Also, that burial ground has a hypnotizing, powerful effect that cause people to keep returning to it. It's explained in detail in the book
The real question is what happened after the end of part one with Louis and Rachel and wheter they were still wandering around in Ludlow?. In Pet Sematary Two, the house of the Creed's is shown only very briefly, where it was barricaded, but no trace of Louis or Rachel. The eldest daughter Ellie was the only survivor who stayed with her grandparents in chicago.
They explain it in the second movie their fate is briefly mentioned by the taxidermist. I don't know if the husband lived it sounded like he didn't but the wife was killed for the 2bd time by someone
The book seems to be ... unfinished as it leaves the reader in suspense. It ends with "darling...". But it's finished. There is nothing more to tell. Want to know what happened next? It's simple: Louis had the same fate as Bill Baterman. After a few days spent with his wife, the Wendigo drove Louis completely insane, he lit the house on fire and committed murder-suicide.
Nope. It's "I use the Mic'Mac burial ground and get cursed by a Wendigo to turn my loved ones into Wendigos, then the curse drives me completely insane."
I saw this movie with my dad it’s isn’t the baby suppose to be sitting and the dad makes a fire in the house to burn the baby and the parents hug but the wife has a knife behind her back
@@Playpressed to me the remake sucked, the sequel is a guilty pleasure of mine just for how insanely entertaining and crazy it is, and the original film is the best.
My dad didn't let me watch the ending when I was a kid , now I remembered and I'm watching it after 20 years on UA-cam

All I can say is he must've really loved her wanting to kiss her with that fluid coming down her face not to mention the condition of her face itself.

The makeup team should've won an Oscar. They nailed it with Rachel and Pascow.
This scene was depressing, disgusting, and disturbing all-in-one. A classic horror at it's finest.

"Pet Sematary"(1989) is a good enough supernatural horror movie! This atmospheric movie has a creepy and very depressing ending scene!

Simple: he wasn't in his right mind.
Also, that burial ground has a hypnotizing, powerful effect that cause people to keep returning to it. It's explained in detail in the book
He was driven insane by the Wendigo. He was compelled by the curse to either tell someone else about it, go back there or commit suicide. He did all.
That was dark for an ending.
And is that a bad thing? No it's not
The main character was weak in this story. His bleeding heart was his downfall.

Kinda hard to learn something when your A: going insane due to traumatic grief and B: being manipulated by a Wendigo.

OMG😲😲
How did he not scare when she came back with this look?
He already knew he had to die. He was prepared. That’s my take.
Everything he went through in this movie drove him insane and all he wanted was his wife back. Reckless love and insanity, quite a cocktail.
He was insane and desperate
He was insane. In the book he gets the face of an elder man and white hair instantly after rachel's death
He's clearly insane

I watch this move when I was kid I remember this scan.
@John Wick think for corrected me I'm not English man
Was it a pet scan?
Why would he chose to Barry her in that pet seminary after what happened to gage
'cause he goes insane
Because he doesn't want to live without his wife or his son.
Because he thought that she wouldn't go crazy when reanimated because, as Louis said, "She just died, it'll work this time."
