FILM DESCRIPTION:
Doctor Louis Creed (Dale Midkiff) moves his family to Maine, where he meets a friendly local named Jud Crandall (Fred Gwynne). After the Creeds' cat is accidentally killed, Crandall advises Louis to bury it in the ground near the old pet cemetery. The cat returns to life, its personality changed for the worse. When Louis' son, Gage (Miko Hughes), dies tragically, Louis decides to bury the boy's body in the same ground despite the warnings of Crandall and Louis' visions of a deceased patient.

I feel so bad for Jud here, he was a good man with a good heart and good intentions. He did his best to help the family, but he ultimately became a victim of his own selfless, yet misguided actions..
Thats what Stephen King does. To make you fall in love with the characters or care for them and then when the worst event starts, you will start to worry in order to get scared for their welfare.

He was my favorite character in the book and movie
Yeah same, Jud was a completely honorably man in all of his actions but when he introduced Louis to the Indian Burial Ground he signed his own death warrant. The spirits were furious when did that, he even says before his death ‘You gotta finish what you started, Jud.’
I vividly remember being like 8 years old and waking up from a nightmare, so I turn on my TV to calm me down just for this scene to be what came on… needless to say I didn’t sleep that night

Why would he do that? Jud is literally the one who even ALARMED the parent's to see him running into the road.
His corpse is possessed by an evil spirit!
Gage was brainwashed by the Wendigo, reminds me of the 77th class from danganronpa that got brainwashed and become cold, sadistic murders
This is a good question, because in the book, Judd is used by the spirits to show the doctor the burial ground in the first place. The WW2 veteran who was brought back was not violent like this. What is this baby's end game? It doesn't make sense.
@@kelvinbremont1341 This doesn't answer the question. The evil spirit used Judd to teach the doctor about the burial ground. The spirit needs people who know about it. I don't understand the spirit's killing spree. It doesn't make sense.
Gage could've lived because of his help but yet again the dad had to fall so yeah. Oh and just a theory, Gage cut his ankle because he is saying Jud should've ran instead of warning Gage was gonna die so basically Jud let Gage die and Gage reminded him of the incident

Old people loose their balance easily. My grandparents did. Once my grandma tripped over a rug & hit her nose on a coffee table & her nose wouldn't stop bleeding & my mom took her to the doctors. Later, my grandma had a purple bruise around her mouth & nose & looked like she had a purple moustache.

Saw this when I was 8-9 on HBO at a friend's house. Yeah that messed me up for a bit.
I watched this as a 7 or 8 year old around back in the early 90's. I even got a bad dream. Movie was scary.

That happened to me 8 years ago, I was a Truck Loader and a aluminum box fell and cut my achilles in half😥. It took me a year and a half to walk again, I always thought about this part of the movie, because this was actually my most scared part of the movie😱! I always feared the Achilles slicing scene the most and it happened to me😬. I'm doing much better 8 years later, only thing is I can't run no more I only can walk and Jog🏃🏽♂️😁.

Actually he didn't, as Miko Hughes did the bite Fred Gwynne started coughing and spluttering and dying and it freaked Miko out. They'd told him it was all rubber and showed him it but forgotten to warn him that Fred was going to act dying. Miko thought he'd actually hurt Fred and started bawling and his parents had to rush in to console him. They were worried about traumatising him so finished the shot with the puppet in close-up.

It's funny how the old man falls like almost dying only from the wounds on his heel and mouth, falls to the floor completely defenseless and unable to defend himself as if Cage had pierced his heart or cutted his neck with the scalpel lol.
Probably traumatised by his past with that house fire one. Jud did warn him about burying him up there an told him about his past yet he still went an done it anyway an it cost poor jud his life. An since they were looking eye to eye the demon was probably paralysing him so he couldnt move. Just my theory
You may die from a sliced Achilles heel, (similar to slitting your wrist) most defiantly paralyzed hence Jud falling, the sliced ripped cheeks would instantly cause crippling pain and choking down a gusher of blood unable to breathe followed by the bite ripping out throat followed by Church gorging himself on Jud’s entire chin. Great kill! Class act.
It's OK, he's George Munster. Just give him a new Achilles tendon and he's good as new.

this is a Stephen King adaptation of The Wendigo. in my opinion, Pet Sematary has the best version of The Wendigo, the story fits well with the look of the monster.
