- Stoke City FC have sacked manager Steven Schumacher after 5 games in the EFL Championship.
Schumacher joined from Plymouth Argyle in December of 2023 and has been in charge of 32 matches boasting a win percentage of 41%. This has not been enough for the board or sporting director to believe he is the right man to take them forward!

No surprise tbh, as you say job is a poisoned chalice and has been since Mark Hughes got the sack. Rowett, Neil and now Schumacher have found out the job is a big one to say the least. Arygle fitted him perfectly as there was less pressure. Coates has all the money in the world therefore get the right candidate and should be an easy fix or so you would think. Have a bad start and there is no chance of making the top six, no way will Rowett be going back. Lampard is in the running I read today but cannot see he has the experience other nearly taking Everton down a few years ago. Did well with us but only because he got the players he wanted. Doubt they can wait until window tbh. Will certainly be an interesting few weeks for them. Going foreign seems to be the "in thing" at present as with Wednesday and Norwich amongst others.

Nobody at stoke is taking responsibility for loss after loss after loss, nobody is signing players quickly enough, there is no heart on the pitch in this stoke team or club

It didn't work with Paul lambert,Gary rowett,its just not good enough on the pitch, absolutely no consistency, no skill, no ability, no pressure on the other teams, it's just a complete shambles, no quality shown, we didn't resign mcnally, everything stoke are doing is in the wrong direction of the club

@@2ndbest11yearoldapexplayer the point is we didn't bother to strengthen the team properly during the window as we kept waiting for far too long and now we are in trouble once again which shows who ever is making these decisions clearly is very clueless

The problems with Schumacher was he couldn't get results and couldn't get stoke up the table, transfers were waited and waited on and we missed out on far better quality of players in the window, we can't score goals, we can't defend properly, when we lost games Schumacher was always giving excuses and we were always using our reserve players in the first team which was completely wrong and we didn't have a strong enough team put together and we let baker leave and mmaee and we didn't resign cundle, we didn't sign Victor moses, we didn't sign a proper goalkeeper to give competition to johansson, its been mistake after mistake after mistake, things are not moving in the right direction at all, we kept Bonham, fielding, Pearson and others who are not helping the club forward, obviously Schumacher training was not the right action to help the club forward, we keep signing far too many loan players and not enough permanent players came in through the door and we missed out on stansfield also it just hasn't worked with Schumacher, Mark Hughes, O'Neil and the other Neil, jones, no manager is working out for stoke at all, we are not bringing in a proper manager who knows what he's doing
