- ** Huge Thanks to John at Fountain Tire in Moosejaw, SK for not sleeping to keep us going when it really counted up north! That guy is part machine and knows how small the window is that farmers have to work in 🙂
** Getting new front tires this time as the others are separated from the heat of the move... Tho, they don't owe us anything as they are 5 - 6yrs old and have thousands of miles on them.
** For social media uploads, behind the scenes stuff, daily pictures and for more personal content, check out my Patreon Account! 🙂🙂 That's where I upload daily and where the fun is! I am serious about that - Also it's where you can follow Ashtyn and I around more personally 🤫😉

Both the tyre guys i've seen on this channel seem to know the answer to everything, its great to see people with such a great knowledge
When you do something for a couple decades you tend to know a thing or 2 😅
John is the VF version of a normal tire guy
Lmao…
20% more capacity 😅
John’s arm circumference is about the size of your waistline.
You need to keep your day job of farming since being a tire man does not suit your body structure 😂🤣
Haha right?! 🤣
Pretty sure John just commanded those tires on the rims and there was no argument...
Ha! 🤣
Lol Mike. “I enjoy pushing stuff to its limit”
You might want to set that philosophy aside when it comes to your wife lol.
Thank goodness for people like John who give our farmers such good support.
THE GUY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT TYRES 😲
MIKE - You do have the best sub's on youtube! Ive been here since you were around 70k, I cant beleleive how fast youve reached 143k ! Almost 50k in 6 months. You are picking up steam on YT and i couldnt be happier. You have a great channel and i think I speak for most of us when I say, we love following you around and watching your absurd-ness. I follow all the bigger farm tubers, but you are pretty much my favorite and ive seen every single YT video youve ever posted.
Mike, have you considered rotating the back tires on the seeder from time to time? Since the nipples are still on the left side I would think switching them with the ditch side would prolong the life of all 4
Mike you guys are lucky, from what we've seen you've got some great tire guys up there.
John looks like he could have hooked a rope to the drill and pulled it there by hand. Lol
“Goodyear Tires” good for one year. That’s funny!
If you are a farmer, you can relate. Goodyear are not very good agricultural tyres.
I agree. Wouldn’t stand by their warranty. Won’t buy them ever again.
It’s not funny. It’s TRUE
@@jazko I have a good friend that flew airplanes for Titan International. They use the Goodyear name, but not actually part of Goodyear tire company. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titan_Tire_Corporation
Goodyear use to be a respected brand, until they shipped everything offshore and lost quality control.
John is a tire computer.
Exactly my thought. John = Rainman of tires!
Mike. You need to talk real slow to the air drill manufacturer engineers and explain “oil bath bearings” the success stories of highway transport can’t go un noticed With those 445 bud wheels recently installed on a axles luke the 16 wheel lowboys use it’s good for the life of the drill
OMG John the tyre guy is a keeper, that service he gives is first class, do you think he’ll come to Australia 🇦🇺 and teach our tyre monkeys a thing or two about service.
Wow, that really is some first class service! I suspect he gets rewarded for his effort - with some more longhaul oddjobs from FHF ;)
Very few guys seem to realize that when they don't push in the clutch when starting you needlessly turn the truck's tranny - I see you know that trick.
those little thinges at 9-00 they are known as sprew that is the vent bits when the rubber is in the mold they let the air out and the molton rubber move into the mould.
John is about 3 of you Mike that is why he can change them tires by himself lol.
He sure had his numbers down tho..
G'day Scruffy

Those tires carry a heck of a lot of load and strain, pulling, pushing, torsion flex up and down and sidehill. Wow, when you think how hard those tires are worked, 6 yr's isn't bad.
Love listening to people like John who are experts in their field. I know nothing about tires but could listen to him all day
This is cool, I had the same guy and truck come out to my farm a few months ago to do some tires on our old international. I live just outside Moose Jaw so he definitely didn’t need to drive as far.
Do they recommend airing up tires for the road? Some Nuhn manure spreaders you can air up on road and when get to field you can deflate for compaction
Maybe you should only move at night when temperatures are down
You meet the nicest guys on your farm. Radial tires are definitely the way to go. Better and longer wear.
310 miles plus the 75 miles from home, glad your moving it and not me
A picture is worth a thousand words. You should show a map of these moves with general locations!
fountain tire is a good company. it is where i bring my vehicle for tires and mechanic work.
That is a good tire company to come like that dang you guys do some moving if you don’t watch it mike you will put move miles than acres hahaha
Mike check out Harvest Tires they make a 800/32 tire that has tread pattern like a earthmoving tyre and a big load capacity .good for grain bins
trojan R3
I put Alliance 550 tires on my tractor to replace the Titan R4 factory tires. Could not be happier with the ride comfort increase and the massive traction increase! I can not wait to see how those front tires last for you!
Is a airseeder like that more expensive than a tractor ?
Some are nearing 2x just depends on your options 🤷🏻♂️
@@mikemitchell2554 my goodness...
@@mikemitchell2554 the RX is like 600k no? so twice the RX?
Completely depends on your spacing, options, fold up or fold back, banders or shanks or/and side band, or how many if any blockage sensors or how many tanks metering, saddle tank? Boom lift? Rear hitch? Sectional control? And the list goes on..
Just priced a 100ft and it pretty much a 1M cash 😳 = no thanks haha
@@mikemitchell2554 1M for the 100ft drill + cart or just the drill part?
I recognize this spot! You guys are just south of bankend! You guys are getting close to the homeland!
Great praise to John. Managing these tires every day in different environments requires the right person in the right place 💪💪
Nice video Mike, very informative 👍. I assume you rotate the ditch side tyres with the outside ones every now and then.
God bless israel. Shabat shlom . 🚜
must be a tiring job for john.
Aight, ill see myself out now.
Oh that amount of km, you driving is insane .. I am pissed off, when i must go 10km to work every day 🤣🤣
🤣 How about 350km 7 days a week 365days per year
@@mikemitchell2554 get your ppl Mike and get yourself an sr22t !!!
@@WILLIE747HUNT we have one! My brother flys
Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming.
Don’t forget tomorrow’s video
500km move!
That's just over half way between eastern coast capital cities in Australia.
I'm enjoying your videos so far. Keep up the great work 👍
You have some cool tire guys to look after you, First Roy on the MF was a great craftman with a lot of knowledge and same goes for John. With the work effort of those 2 combined would put any F1 tire changing crew to shame, no matter how fast they would ever be.
Great video Mike nice looking tires
I just looked online a 2021 3335-86 drill and 91300 cart is only $769k Canadian. $625k USD.
Yeah it's crazy! It all depends on what spacing you want, banders VS shanks.. Side band as well as mid row? Or how many tanks metering or Sectional control, how many of any blockage sensors and the list goes on.. Fold back drills or fold up 🤣
I just priced a 100ft and it came out at 995K cash.. And I was cutting out options 🤷🏻♂️
Mike. If you woke up and had a beard like Johns I think you'd need to see a therapist. Yo got beard stress Bro.
This guy sure knows his tyres!
Moose Jaw, Kyle, Watrous…
Geez, a little geography trip down memory lane. It’s like I never left home 😁
So mike buy you a glass weld kit you can fix the windshield before the crack runs
You will have your reason dude.
Starting the big rig with your foot on the clutch.
I was taught that that put drag on the starter motor and also pushes the crank against the thrust bring which isn't getting lubricated till the oil pressure comes up.
Cool channel Dude
😎👍
VF actually means Very High Flexion and it can take +40% load at the same pressure, or -40% pressure at the same load.
CFO means Cyclic Field Operation and is a name for a technology that allows higher loads for shorter periods, as a combine or chanser bin. Thanks for Great videos!
New word “ditchside”
The correct name for those "nipple things" is "vent spews". Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
I still can’t wrap my head around the fact, that you moved your drill and sprayer a distance like from the one end of Denmark to the other end.....
And I can’t even imagine a route for the move of the drill.
I'm from Finland and when we were on a holiday trip in Denmark. We couldn't believe how short distances from place to place were there. We were like: we can't already be there? 🤯😂
@@MrJurssi I know. A long roadtrip in DK is 4 hours. 😜😜🚗🚗🏎️🏎️
Saskatchewan isn’t that bad. Avoid Regina and any other city for the overpasses and plan around narrow crossings.

Could you have hauled up your quad track instead of buying another 4 wheel drive tractor?
Yes.. But hauling comes at a price - even if you buy your own trailer. But it depends in what your plan is 😉🙂
Meaning if it goes well up north Mike will be looking for a drill next I’d guess
My guess is he will be buying more land in the area again or renting
We have proof Mike is Canadian. “eh” he says
would rotating the tires help with wear on the tread
Next time give the trucker a generous lunch allowance so he stops and lets things cool off. Lol.
What year is that international? I could have built that if it’s a mid 2000’s
05
@@mikemitchell2554 yep, i most likely built that one here in Ontario, cranked out 208 trucks in two 10 hr shifts.
Worked in the back shop fixing problems that happened when built. Most was just bad air/wire routing issues or putting on parts that didn’t get done online.
Crappy part, company closed that plant in 2009 and now it’s a flat piece of land, and it’s all moved to Mexico
I believe those rear tires are possibly what Seedhawk uses.
It's too bad you couldn't find some kind of a truck tire to put on the drill for the trips up and down from the North?
Why do the treads on "pulled" equipment go in the opposite direction as those of the tractor that is pulling it?
Because of less rolling resistance (therefore also less heat generation) and also less wear (on concrete/tarmac)
One way is traction the other is compaction.
Good for one year; I love it
Holy smokes, a lesson about plie tires vs radial in two minutes.
That kind of service would never happen in Ontario
Why not buy an old farmstead in the middle and park a used second set of drills? I mean buy one a year if you have the extra
A week is the most I can do with facial hair. Give him a nap in the semi sleeper.
Whatcha plantin Mike ? Havent got to see a canola harvest yet . But we did get to watch some burn !
Excellent and informative video......:)
Mike why are the tires on the drill backwards?
Compaction
Thanks I knew it was a good reason.
@@mikemitchell2554 Guess not :). It's done because of less rolling resistance (therefore also less heat generation) and also less wear (more relevant on concrete/tarmac). At least in the EU some farmers mount the front wheels on their front wheel assist tractors due to these reasons backwards.
Any reason not to bring up 60 foot instead of 80 foot drill as would be less weight to move as well as less weight on transport tires?
The 1300bu cart haha..
If you changed size of the wheel, did you or did not have the adjust seeding depth as well?
He would not, the seed depth is based on the little pushing wheels at each separate shank.
Is it really justified to be that spread out?
Mike. Remember you can kill things with kindness on the grease gun with overfill and losing the bearings chance to cool a bit
Yep, that was due to over greasing, which surprisingly can also cause over heating
Grease being pumped around by rolling elements causes heat.
Happy seeding.
Why not run a turf style tire??
Can't hold the drill when turning loaded in the field. Need the traction
When you're a big guy like myself and this gentleman, overalls are th eonly way to go for working in.
I’d rather try losing the weight. Just better for everything
Little more tire pressure for the move.
Nice tires on the brrrrrr go lol
Those tires don't like highways.
5:44 VF = Very Fast tires. 😂
Awesome job but John from Fountain tyres. Here in the UK I had a tractor tyre blow one evening and our local tyre guy was in the field in 30 minutes.
And? The dude drove almost 4 hours to change the tires. What do you want?
@@mikeznel6048 He complimented John. The 'but' is clearly meant to be a 'by'. He also complimented his local tyre dealer although I suspect his intention was more to demonstrate the difference in scale. In this instance, I don't think you need to be so defensive and go on the offence. Although admittedly, Mark could have made his point clearer so that we don't need to second guess. BTW, your Impossible Tenegrity Table looks good!
Mike, have you guys thought about the 3420-100 Paralink and 7950 cart?
Man your videos go by too fast.
Thanks! I think 🤣
@@mikemitchell2554 Morning routine. Coffee, feed doggo and your video. Love the videos Mike. Real deal stuff, not full of filler material and irrelevant nonsense. I could watch this all day, I rather be doing it all day though actually. Maybe some day.
Mike - because the tyres have changed on the seeder bar... does that alter seeding depths slightly?
Good Morning Great New Tyres Video, thanks for sharing, Have a great weekend
Mike how much did you expand in Wishart? Did you find that spreading out and getting more acres per year on your equipment is helping or are you about maxed out?
how far are you behind on videos as of today here in the state of Ohio corn is knee high in some places and it's hot and muggy here
That alliance won't last long before they split open
should be putting it on a truck trailer for those distances
You can't haul drills, they either have to disassembled or pulled
@@mikemitchell2554 i build them for a living in Australia and we partially disable them and put them on flat top semi trailers look at your high float front end your see it actually folds up for that reason
Hey Mike, I added Triples to my Fendt 1050 In Farming Simulator 19 haha
Can anyone give me a rough price on what one of these drills and carts are worth?
Now John got there around 5:30, is that metric or SAE time?.
How many plai have thoose new tires,🤔
Heck of a distance to go seeding! Will combines be making same journey?
Is your farm one block or spread out?
moves... just because you can doesn't mean you should. cost of moving more than 50 miles sucks up any profit.. this distance move is absolutely ludicrous
Haha it actually lowers my cost of equipment.. Anytime I can't usey equipment for more acres, the lower the cost is... Also this up here is not only farming, but my hobby as well 🙂😂
Too much talk too ittle show.
Sometimes I have to much show and too little talk tho 🤷🏻♂️
Nearly spat my 🍵 tea out when you mentioned Goodyear, "good for one year" 👍
Is it just me, or the thread of the big tyres is backwards?
