Excellent Video - just what I needed. Both actuator and handle needed repair on my Nissan. I taped window in place, but still had to haggle with the metal brackets to set in exact spot to screw in. Pulling harness out of actuator was also hassle - had to squeeze plastic lock super hard to pull out. Could not have gotten it done without video. Thanks so much!!!!

Excellent video! I am dealing with this issue now. Driver door handle decided to not work from the outside. I scanned your comments before starting. Someone mentioned taping your window when it’s all the way up before you start working; that was very helpful! It made the job faster and putting it all back together was easier. I took it all apart to see what was broken or maybe a cable had come off track..the cable that runs from the actuator to behind the outside door handle appears to be the culprit. I ordered a new actuator from Amazon for about $60, I should be able to use the new cable that comes with the assembly. Everything else looked to be in good working order and the oem part is probably of higher quality than the one I ordered online. Thanks for the info and video!

Thank you for posting this video.
As I was replacing the door lock mechanism, I found the replacement had a different cable from the door handle. I needed to remove the door latch from the outside to get the new cable attached.
Your video saved me from making mistakes and getting the job done.
Mechanic wanted $750 for the job, eBay motors cost me $51.00 for a non exact replacement and your information got it done.
Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Hi this helped me a ton, I actually used a piece of string looped around the window and door frame, and that held the window in place. This REALLY helped when trying to reattach the black panel to the window track bars, since it put the screw holes at the height they were gonna be anyway. But thanks for saving me like $700

Great video and very helpful. Aligning the regulator and window is the hardest part as Chris mentioned. I tried using card board to keep the window in place while switching the actuator out. I think taping the window to the door would save time.

Good video. I watched another by a spanish speaking gentleman that shows the easier way you referred to deal with the window. He removed 2 rubber plugs from the central section of the cover that holds the window regulator and lowered the window until you could see and access the 2 screws at the bottom edge of the window were visible in those 2 holes that were unplugged. Removed the screws, took the window completely out of door and then removed the regulat panel with the regulator still attached. Putting it back was the reverse and much easier to reattach the window to the bottom of the regulator through the 2 uncovered access holes. No need to separate the regulator from the access panel.

Thank you for the video! My passenger side latch failed, and Nissan is asking over 600CAD for the part… and I am gonna do the same repair myself. I will try some suction cup and tape to hold the window in place🎉

Thanks for the help!! That saved me a bunch of money. I even went to a u pull and pay for a used actuator so only about 25 bucks.

Just did this repair and my experience was pretty much the same. But it helped me to have another person keep the window up and in its track while I put the 4 retaining bolts back in

Great vid. Had a real time doing this w another set of hands, so kudos. We had an aha moment, we removed speaker and had full access to window track from behind, just a suggestion I thought may be helpful.

Hi, Thanks for the video, and the details you had mentioned. Yes it was the same way
I had trouble latching the window bolts. The details and the way you corrected the mistakes really helped.

There are 3 important round patches that cover holes: a small one on the left side to help with that yellow plastic clip and 2 large ones for window regulator rails alignment. I have also used 2 M6x1-65 mm bolts , cut their heads and used them for the window regulator cover alignment (2 top threaded holes). And please do yourself a favor , tape the windows with not 3, not 4 but with 10 strips!!! The hardest part for me was disconnecting electrical connectors. I have installed an OEM part, Google it, and you will find one $100 cheaper than at your local stealership.

I’m assuming this is a fairly common issue with these cars? I just bought a used 2015 rogue select maybe 2 months ago and the actuator just went out.

remove the 2 10mm bolts holding the window, slide the glass up and, secure it with painters tape,,,this way you are able to get the panel that has the window motor out of the way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Dealerships are just another criminal organization. A part that I paid $20 for online, they wanted $300. Labor you also would get reamed if you allow them to work on your vehicle. Learning as much as you can about such repairs will save you a bundle and expand your knowledge and save $$$.

You might have to barrow a slim Jim. Taxi service used to be able to help unlock doors or tow truck companies. You should be able to do it yourself from the inside by pulling the door skin back and reaching in with something.

This is common problem in Nissan Rouge. I got replaced once, after two years same issue. Talked to Nissan to know recall but they refused to have recall. Better to aware people about this issue.

There is a much easier way to do this! Remove the window first and this will let you remove the entire window actuator from the door giving you much needed room to work (do not remove the bolts holding on the window actuator). The trick to all this aligning the bottom window bolts to the through holes on the window actuator panel/barrier! (these are covered by sticky hole patches). You might have to have the window controller connected to raise and lower the window to get the bolt/holes lined up. Have someone hold the window while you remove these bottom window bolts or it will fall in the track.

i've found it easier holding the mirror thru the speaker hole, this newer design is easier for assembly not repair

Omg. Don’t buy from nissan. I bought this exact actuator for $31 on ebay. I’ve replaced the original actuator in 4 different doors of nissans. All ebay actuators i’ve used have lasted for 3 years and still going.

Everything went smooth for me except getting the torx bolt to screw back into the lock. It will not thread in at all. Anyone else have this problem? It's the original lock but it's an asshole
