Kuddos to the L-89!! I own a '69 Chevelle L-89 Code 721-B M-22, 3:73 rear with chambered exhaust! Absolutely the best! Nothing like a '69 Chevelle SS 396!!
GOOD RACE ! Naw, they are even more even than you think with the silver car needing a much shorter throwing shifter. BOTH SOUND AWESOME! The LS6 seems like its revving higher then the lil' guy even! ( 396 def needs more gear to boot!)
this is fun to watch but you can clearly see in the first race 454 was out front by a 1/2 of car then in the ride along it was different race because the 396 pull the 454 right from the light wish we could see the times on the first race .
Yes, of course - I think that car has a lot more done than a bone stock 375 to run into the 11's with that mph. Also the driver in the LS6 did a good job getting it out of the hole w/ 4-speed😊
Lol, they always have a lot more in it dont they. Nobody anywhere ever says their engine is running to its full potentual when they get nearly beat or closly matched by something snaller lololol
My 66 Chevelle SS has a built small block 327 that is making 500+hp Size doesn't matter to me , I would race both the 396 and 454 5.5 sec in the 1/8 mile ! 11.5 sec in 1/4 mile !
Slow cars like that are always the most fun, you can rev em up and shift etc and not get yourself into much trouble

that's a reverse shift manual valve body in the trans.
Why no power shifts?

All I saw were some shoes
Why didn’t the guy power shift. Could’ve dropped a tenth or so.
get rid of the O.E.M. muncie shifter.
Which car is the 396 or the 454?

Silver car is the 454
Hey 4 speed dude learn to powershift quit lifting on the gas at gear change and the car will go faster
Trust me he knows how to powershift. Traction is the issue and powershifting would only make him spin more.
Hey clueless guy, did you notice the tiny little polyglass got loose in second ? What benefit to not lifting
Those are not 💯 percent factory. Maybe mostly, but not 💯 percent. They would’ve been in the 13’s factory.
When these cars came from the factory they had skinny bias ply tires that wouldn't hook
The ls6 car drive needs to learn how to drive. Shitty comparison. They should both be 4 speed or th400
Keep your comments to yourself. You absolutely couldn’t drive the car any better.
@@thatred704 With a more experienced driver you could easily knock a 1/2 second off that time.
He has probably never been on a real track before. He drives a Conestoga wagon.😊@thatred704
