    i LOVE when a V8 sounds proper like the chevy 572 does, it "climbs" if its done right and then snarls like a beast at the end of each gear as if its climbing up them. My dream is to drop a naturally aspirated 572 chev motor into a ford festiva I recentley bought. the power to weight ratios IF DONE RIGHT would be more insane than anything anyone has ever seen. oh boy i have a lot of work too do :DD

    The car has really nice lines and the mountain motor clearly can move the tank down the road. Neat combo.

    Ditch the wheels for some Torq-Thrust Originals and this car will be perfect! Awesome car guys.

    I have a black 66 Impala w/396 & TH400 that I hope to rebuild someday to 500 hp. This car, however, is beyond my wildest dreams. 700 plus hp w/a 6-speed manual! This is one of the best car vids on You Tube!

    A great memory, sitting in the back seat of i think a 1966 built 396 4/speed Impala at a red light, three passengers in car. A built 454 Fairlane w/auto, tubbed, slicks, stickers all over windows,lol pulls up next to us reving, light turns green, tire smoke from both cars, 1st, 2nd looking at the side of his car, 3rd, looking at his front grill, and 4th, looking out the back glass of the Impala at his car, laughing....the gear slamming sounded like a sledge hammer hitting a metal plate, nice...

    @unrulycarrot I agree that Tom seemingly overestimated the actual weight of this car during his narration. This specific car, in stock form, weighed 3630 lbs. The upgraded motor and transmission combination is significantly heavier than the factory configuration, not to mention the upgraded brakes, EFI, fuel pressure system, suspension, large diameter stainless steel exhaust, and 20" rims and wide tires. Each tire and rim weighs between 75 to 80 lbs each, if not more. My guess, 4200 lbs.

    @partyman6666 well, nelson has done a 800 CI V-Eight, don't know how far that project has advanced by now but you can check out a slight glimpse of that on nelsons' channel here on YT. it is to be seen in the clip in which tom nelson introduces a couple of their projects of the nelson super car division. cheers.

    If you think the 572's a big engine, search for videos of the Weineck AC Cobra... it's got a 780 CI/12.9 Liter V8. I believe that's the largest engine in any road car.... and it even has an 8000 RPM redline. If you like the sound of this Impala, you'll surely love the Weineck Cobra. :)

    @partyman6666 Agreed. That Weineck 780 CID V8 is a beast. I think it is 1100hp NA. Nelson should make a twin turbo version of that!

  • @tommy9927
    @tommy9927 15 років тому

    No problem with it as long as the engine is warmed up.
    Why should a rev limiter hurt the engine? It's there to preserve it, so you can perfectly run into it

    I want THIS engine. It sounds so beautiful compared to shrillish sounding Ferrari F430 and similar.
    But it doesn't beat the best I've ever heard, Murcielago R-GT racecar, but the road going Murcie comes no where near
    That V8 is really good, sounds a thousand times better than Z06

    I think he's comparing this car to tuner cars with turbos making the same kind of power, and in that case theres no comparison between a turbo and naturally aspirated. A 572 is a torque monster.

  • @karner34
    @karner34 12 років тому +1

    Some dumb comments.9to1 can make that horsepower.Its all how you build it.The v-10s may make more HP but at what RPM and they dont make that kind of torque.

    • @sylentxtinction2097
