Serral's macro is so impressive... he has almost perfect supply and almost no money for a majority of the open to mid game

In my opinion, some Vikings would have been great. Maybe even 6 Vikings instead of liberators would have been great.
I don't know what game you are watching but having a 4th base in 7 minutes as zerg is not an impressive macro.
What you need to point out is his micro, and perfect engagements.
Good trades make your macro looks good.
Late game TvZ is always pretty thematic to what I want from crazy economy SC game. Just Z tech swapping trying to overwhelm the T defense that's bareellyy clinging on is so thematic.
a solid chunk of the terran vs zerg missions in the campaigns are terran holding out as the zerg throw everything and the kitchen sink at them

Cure overreacted to the Broodlords, making about one Thor per. Leaving him with 50-60 supply caught up in slow moving units which are not effective against a mobile Zerg force. Serral actively avoided engaging the Thors the entire time

A problem I have with the new patch is that it feels geared towards keeping players like Serral down while the average pro player is really going to struggle going forward.
Wouldn't be the first, second or even third time a zerg unit got nerfed because of Serral lmao

Watching Serral playing is just like enjoying a good piece of classical music 🎼🎶
I like to think the nerfs were mainly focused at players like Serral and Dark, especially their late game, and here we see just how good they are, even when their most used strats are nerfed or changed. The constant switching of army type is insane.
Serral's control of chaining spell units while also fighting at multiple fronts just seems unreal

Terran is overpowered in the late game, except for when Serral plays. Love it.
However, it get kinda boring knowing that Zerg always looses unless its Serral playing.
Cuz someone nerfed the zerg like 5 times cuz of just 1 outlier

Just one day before this upload, Lowko showed a Best-of-5 where Dark beat Oliviera 3 to 2. And 3 days before that, Serral and Cure went head to head and Serral lost.
Protosss here. Don't see how protoss could survive from late games against both other races😢
Hear me out: The EMP radius reduction is actually a nerf for Serral because now he's gonna hit less ghosts when he neurals it to EMP the other ghosts 😂
He will just pick a ghost with enough energy to EMP twice :P
If they want Zerg to stop winning... just gotta pay Serral to play a different race.

I just noticed that not only does the name of Hurricane Thrusters not make sense for the Cyclone, but its icon is recycled from the Medivac's speed boost upgrade it had in earlier versions of Legacy of the Void. Not the same icon as the speed upgrade that was cut, though, the icon for that upgrade was changed previously. The ORIGINAL original icon, which the Cyclone now uses, was also previously used by the Viking in early Wings of Liberty alpha when it was built from the Factory, and it increased the Viking's attack range (if you look close, you can tell the icon is a rocket or missile being fired).
This kind of stuff just fascinates me is all, charting the course of the game by art assets and the like. Also means we may see a new icon for the upgrade in the future, since the Medivac got it replaced too, and accordingly a name change to make sense.
Cyclones get upgraded to Hurricanes in most world regions IRL so it makes perfect sense for a name.
@@HaploBartow The issue is that the upgrade is called "Hurricane Thrusters", but the Cyclone uses wheeled treads to move, it has no thrusters.
Serral is Zerg from the lore.
Chances these days that Lowko will not hate on Ghosts in Terran games is basically zero :D I do not really played SC2 outside of campaign but love you man :D

Hi Lowko. Usually I don't say anything but I want to share something with you today. I played startcraft 2 when I was young but haven't touched the game in about 8 to 10 years. I feel confident enough to say that if your channel and harstem one didn't exist I wouldn't have been watching sc2 pro matchs for the last 2 years. I just want to thank you. Watching these pros mastering and perfecting the art of sc strategy has been really enjoyable and your commentary is a big part of that enjoyement. Few years ago I had and accident and I started to have very strong tinnitus that made it difficult for me to fall asleep. It might sounds weird to you but your calm and consistent way of speaking also helped me falling asleep a lot of times and it meens a lot to me, so thank you for that aswell.
PS : I understand all the zergs screaming in pain on the ladder right now. This feels like it is the serral nerf update. But as a viewer this patch is very cool to watch.

I feel like it would be cool to see Lowko play/cast SC2 games with some of the wild mods out there.
He has another channel where he releases video from when he streams playing games, including a lot of the weird mods.
Serral really threatened the man for so long into making a high cost military comp he couldn’t replace if lost, so he could throw all his units away into it and remax with things that hard counter it to finish the game. Man is playing 3D Chess

Since Serral against used goop, puked from an overloard at around 15:00 on the western base, it made me *again* wonder:
"why do zergs never use that & add 1-2 queens to "jumpstart" creep" ?! imagine some dropperloads & a puker teaming up & just drop queens behind the lines, spreading creep & "fortify" a remote position with it?! creep is soo strong, but other then slowly expanding from their base, they never use this to jump creep further faster 🤷♂🤔
ps: im a C&C player from the old days & never touched starcraft, because i never liked the idea of limited unit numbers & "prepared/funneled" maps with platforms & these fixed (optimal) mainbase positions to harvest....always looked&felt stupid imho!
but i get its better for e-sports, just never felt like worth playing!

It’s very stupid that blizzard nerfed Zerg’s primary Lategame option; the baneling, without buffing anything else. So dumb.
Cyclones sound a bit like Mutas nowadays. Powerful paperweights.

Zerg apm numbers arent inflated. A worse player would have lower apm.
Zerg is just VERY hard to play but rewards a player with higher skill that is able to keep up a high apm.
ITs not just clicking randomly a zerg player has to actually think about way more clicks than every other race. And with the nerfs it only becomes harder and harder.
A good zerg and a bad zerg arent that far apart. But a GREAT zerg is miles ahead in effectiveness.
if they want players using mec they need to nerf stimpack, bio is too strong to use anything else.
Yeah, and on top of that they nerfed the baneling, the lurker and they nerfed fungle.
All 3 stuff that was primarly used against Bio.
Bio was already way stronger than mech.
Now the counters against Bio are weaker - which makes Bio the even better choice.
the lack of mobility is the biggest weakness of mech. Add in the Hercules from the campaign and I'd consider it over all the medivac drops lol

Watch recent tournament from PiG. They had an amazing series there
Ghosts are just a ridiculous unit. They in no way should do THAT much damage at that long a range. snipers should be able to one shot smaller units sure. But they do far too much damage.
And zerg I swear is my favorite unit type but its also the hardest to play and they just keep nerfing them so hard it makes it hard to watch and it makes it hard for any newer players to want to try to master zerg knowing just how hard the climb is.

Havmt seen any players in sc2 use nydus for defense like using to save drones and defend far away bases
Ok, genuine question - how do Thors counter Broodlords? Yeah they outrange the broods, but broods just drop broodlings and retreat, and it seems like you need a lot of thors to oneshot a single broodlord.
I don’t play sc2 myself, but from watching Lowko it looks like the only way to kill broods is ghost snipes.
Serral scares me, makes it look the the patch was a zerg buff.
cyclones come across as weaker to me. They are slower but just as fragile as before. I could be seeing it wrong but that's what I'm seeing.
And another zvt.... LOWKOOOOOO PLEASEEEE... 6 of the last 9 videos from this new patch have only been zvt, and another was tvt ... please just put protoss in something!

If the fifteen minute mark was the transition to late game, there's your answer.
i will be the guy to point out that Cure has a lot of oom medivacs this game, and plenty of situations were topping of the bio woud be benefical. shure woud be nice if there was a tech that helped huh?

Zerg Was highest win rate, P lowest we need to see if the patch has properly addreses the inbalance.
I don't care about players' ethnicity nor nationality but this game and players as individuals instead..micro, macro, strategies, visual arts, music etc. omg how amazing combo! ✨
When was the last time Lowko uploaded a viewer submitted game? These pro games are sick, but an occasional viewer game really puts things into perspective (and they’re good fun). Great cast!

I can't help but wonder how the match would have gone if Cure hadn't forgotten his infantry upgrades. I think that he pulled back after realizing he had forgotten +3/+3.
In my opinion making a Thor per Broodlord, was his downfall. They did absolutely nothing as the Zerg refused to engage. In the end Serral only made 12, and lost only about 6. All the Thors remained until the end of the game after bleeding Cure.
The question is if Zerg is OP or Serral
Serral makes Zerg look good. Plus I wonder if Terran players can get the time to repair their Thors, maybe they would do much more in the game. 💪🏼
Pro terrans never took the time to repair things. Maybe it's because it's more efficient to let them mine. I've always noticed that with siege tanks and medivacs. Even the medivacs had like 10% hp, they would still use that

At serral's standard, speed are weapon
Yet another game where two ravens would have paid for itself 100x over. Allowing Serral all that creep is almost always his opponents downfall. Serral had zero true AA for the first 15min. The vikings were almost untouched. Send a hellion hit squad out and control the damn creep. Or you know, maybe reveal the 10 infestors Serral makes 90% of his late games before he fungals you repeatedly to death.
Ravens at the start would be a good idea, but on late game it's most likely a way to bomb yourself. Specially if you have them in positions to detect infestors. Neural parasite plus antiarmor missile equals end of the match.
Gg but I really worry about zerg vs Terran for this patch. Serral is a monster, but I see Terran reigning Supreme against most zerg players (and I don't think protoss will take over)

This probably comes from a place of ignorance cause I don't play Starcraft myself, but it really looks like just 2 things that make Serral outshine the other zerg players in ZvT and ZVP.
1. He puts more emphasis on scouting out his opponents units transitions in the mid game
2. He seems to be the only one who really takes advantage of just how well the Zerg casters work in tandem in the late game.
doesnt this directly translate to: serral plays better?
i mean his apm is just much higher all game long.
and sure with more apm you can do more things.. like scouting and controlling casters.

uThermal is entertaining, but he rarely does anything different. It's the same build over and over just slightly adapted. Lowko does right by uThermal by only casting the rare epic moments.

So let me get this straight. They nerfed Zerg so bad that literally noone except the best player in the world can make it work decently. And even he struggles against his most favorable matchup. Stop balancing the game around Serral, it's so stupid. Let the guy win, he's the GOAT. If you need to nerf him 10x to win against him you're still worse than him and every other Zerg player is just miserable
