all the three boutique pedals sound exactly the same. if you change a bit the filter knob they can match (because every pedal is not 100% exact in terms of the sweet spots etc but same sound overall). shows how a circuit is just a circuit, just buy what you can afford and gives you muse (looks count). good comparison
Idk, my ratsbane sounds too noisy, too thin. Too much gain too fast, not enough punch. And those toggles are annoyingly placed too close to the knob. I much prefer the Magus Pro, or the Digitech Hot Rod or DF7.
The Magus Pro sounds incredibly close to the Proco when you consider how cheap it is. The biggest difference is that they gave the filter knob a more logarithmic and useable sweep.
I have had a several gourmet Rats including a repro of the original Big Box Rat. I got a current standard Rat II just like the you hear in the demo. Just like the demo proved it is the fattest and the heavy lows have a killer rasp. One gets a Rat to have a Rat's sound. All the others sound like they want to be a MIAB but even fail to do that. Considering the cheap price of a 'real' Rat why would you buy a 'Wannabee' ??? If you haven't yet subscribed then what the F. are you waiting for. Bonedo does reviews that are better than at least 250 other reviewers I subscribed to. I check on all of them daily. I am not making this sh't up. He is that good at letting you really hear the 'real' sound of a pedal instead of wasting your time trying to impress you with his playing.
Value for money, Magus I think... value for money plus classic look, the original ProCo. All of the above on steroids, get the other ones. All of them are amazing! I love Rat distortion sound no matter the source tho. Very good for coloring and near-fuzzing.
good demo, ty 1. jhs - sounds the best, costs the most, haven't even broached the 9-way mode knob 2. ratsbane - all around good 3. iron horse - i love walrus pedals, this is no exception although not as versatile or thick as the two above 4. proco - classic and somewhat untamed, simple 5. magnus - too untamed, didn't care for it
@@davidramos4317original is too big and wasn't the best sounding here., I want a smaller version that sounds as good. As long as I can get the same sound in a smaller package, I'll go that route.
And? You don’t buy pedals to play in a band. Most guitarists play around a half an hour to an hour a day by themselves in their music room/bedroom. The pedals are for your sound. In a mix, which is at most once a weekend, as little as twice a year, what does it matter?
Too big. I like small pedals, besides I don't think the original was the best sounding here, so. No. Wampler and iron horse both sounded better than the original. JHS was a close tie.
Return on Investment for sure goes to the original - 90% of the guts for far less money - Magus is there too- I have the Mosky King Rat - i call it the dark rat but its brilliant
The original ProCo sounds the best to me. Dont know why. Its gnarlier, and thats all I got.
I have 3 of the pedals.
My only doubt was... "Why I didn't buy the Proco RAT since the beggining?"
I kinda forgot how gated Rats sound at max gain - it's a cool sound. Good comparison. I liked the Wampler and Walrus Audio best.
yes, me too, and the JHS was not as good as it should. The magus sounded pretty good for its cheap price

I didn't hear much between them; the Magus sounded brighter, but still Ratty.
Guitar Bonedo, can you do comparison between MXR Power 50 and Marshall JCM 800 2205, like you did with 5150 pedal

can't decide what to buy in this list
You look at rat pedals and ask which to buy? Buy the Rat. If you’ve got the chad buy the JHS
The JHS besides the Classic Rat🔥😎🔥

Great comparison. For me Rat won.

Interesting.... Also subjective AF, as everyone is with these kind of things
👍👍👍
Ratsbane sounds closest to the original to me.
The original sounds pretty close too

no one will hear the difference in the band mix.. 😊

O pedal mais difícil de clonar, não gosto de nenhum imitador do rat kkkkk
If you want a RAT style, buy a RAT.😁
I built mine with LM308 opamp, sounds incredible.

Sonicake does me fine.
Ya, mooer for me, and I own a rat!
As usual, the Wampler sounds like shit. My favorite is the OG.
