MORE FREDDIE PLEASE!!!
I’d especially love you to look at/compare pieces where he’s singing at the TOP and at his LOWER registers. (Montserrat Cabelle’ said Freddie was naturally a baritone, even tho he usually chose to sing as a tenor.)
PLEASE REACT TO:
“Exercises In Free Love” (There is an EXCELLENT video by: Thulerius Vril channel.)
AND
“Ensueno” (There is a video available for “Ensueno” w both Spanish & English subtitles on: SONURT CHANNEL.)
ALSO:
(For high singing)…
Freddie’s LIVE “IMPROMPTUS”, especially on:
Saturday, July 12, 1986 at Wembley Stadium (There is a REMASTERED video by: VIDEO REMASTER ITA.)
ALSO:
“Cool Cat”
“Soul Brother”
(For lower baritone)…
“I’m Going Slightly Mad”
LASTLY:
There are TWO LIVE performances of “It’s A Hard Life” AT:
Tokyo in 1985
AND
Rock In Rio 1985
(The BEST-quality Rio video is on:
Mi estuche de Dvds
…It is BETTER than the video on Queen official.)
This is a very cool suggestion, thank you for this idea! What do other think about this I wonder? 😊
Since he mentioned Montserrat Caballé add "Barcelona" to the list. He's singing a duet with her. And do the whole Wembley 1986. Best live performance ever. Of any band. 20 minutes pure energy. @@annavaskelainen
@@annavaskelainen I can only speak for what I know of Queen fans, which is that they ALWAYS ask for live performances because Queen is the ONLY band that’s famous for being even BETTER LIVE. 😄 (Also, most reactors will only do ONE version of a song, then they move on… so of course we’re going to say “LIVE PLEASE”)😸
There are many Queen songs, tho, that are COMPLETELY different with studio vs live, because studio mixes have complicated/intricate harmonies/overlays… but, Queen always insisted on performing with no supplemental backing tapes, so they always REWORKED live renditions. (They also always changed things from one live show to another, so repeat attendees always got a DIFFERENT experience.)
The most POPULAR song that Queen fans ALWAYS ask for is “Somebody To Love” live (which you obviously just saw the most well-known performance of, at Montreal.)
There’s another FANTASTIC rendition:
MILTON KEYNES BOWL in 1982
…POWERFUL & spontaneous, this is the version in Queen’s official compilation of Best Live Performances. (The BEST-quality remastered video is on:
Chief Mouse channel… It’s a clearer nighttime image than the official Queen channel’s video.)
These two different performances also show Freddie’s live VERSATILITY!
@@marciebulsaraorcutt Subscribed. Freddie was awesome! I like your channel. May I suggest a reaction to BABYMETAL. They sound better live also and are amazing. Their music has a positive and uplifting message. They have a The First Take performance that showcases the lead singer’s amazing voice:
BABYMETAL - Monochrome - Piano ver. / THE FIRST TAKE
The fan base will lead you to other performances with live vocals. 🖖 ❤
Thank you for this excellent review and for your additional comments! 👍 😊
The one thing most people don’t recognize in this performance is there are four people on the stage ,that’s it. No back up vocalist no backing track just for guys who are masters at their craft. The ability of Roger Taylor, to play drums and harmonize with one of the greatest vocalist of all times is so underrated.
Couldn’t agree more mate. If it weren’t for Freddy being an absolute vocal master, RT would easily be lead singer of Queen. And he wasn’t just playing basic beats whilst performing those vocals, he’s drumming his heart out and never skipping a beat. Absolute masters at work.
Roger is at the top next to Freddie maybe a smidge higher.. MHO
@@stevenseul361 He’s definitely a master in his own right, but definitely not higher.
Freddie is the best frontman ever. Im an old baby boomer and can't get enough of him and Queen.
When asked his favorite instrument to play he replied “the audience”! His interactions are timeless.
Someone is in love with Freddie.
He's the best front man ever. No one gonna argue about it, Love Them!!!
I was lucky enough to see Queen in the 1970’s. To this day I enjoy hearing them, and I especially like seeing later generations than mine enjoy them.
One of the most enlightening comments I've heard about how Brian May's spectacular guitar work integrates so well with Freddie's voice is that May's guitar is "singable." It works in "breaths" the same way that singing does. You can sing the guitar solos.
Who wants to Live Forever! if you haven't already done it. It's BEAUTIFUL!!!
Love Queen! Try Freddie’s performance in 1976 Hyde Park as he sings You Take My Breath Away and hypnotizes the crowd!
The best frontman & performer @ all times❤, Freddie Mercury ❤Queen love from Philippines 🇵🇭
I’m not sure what is better:hearing and seeing Freddie’s magic, or see Anna being consumed by that magic.
Awesome reaction. ❤
I could not decide either ? So, isn't having both of them combined the best of both worlds ? 👏👏👏We sadly lost Freddie way to early 😥 but still cherish his art - and Anna adds perfectly to great music and singing - imo
I am so grateful for you guys!
@@annavaskelainen Just (try to) accept: You deserve all the respect and appreciation you get 👏🎼🎶🤝👏
I would like to see a reaction to "Save Me" from the same live show where Freddie is singing in a less dramatic fashion and maybe the video of "Who Wants to Live Forever" from the sound track of the movie "Highlander".
Freddie always could sing you out of a bad time. He makes you forget about the amazing talent of the rest of Queen sometimes. For me Queen is still the best ever. Reviewed by the best! Started my Saturday off with a good one!
A classic among classics ! Queen & Freddie FOREVER!
The guy on the drums is the one who actually did THE high notes in Bohemian Rhapsody.
It's easily to fall in love with Freddie. His charisma and stage presence is unparalleled in the rock realm. Freddie is a legend with a vocal dynamics that rivets through his audience's and airways right into your soul. I miss Freddie and the magic that Queen gave me back in my youth . I want to thank you personally Anna for bringing back one of my most treasured performances by Freddie and his magnificent band Queen. He left us far too early but his legacy will live on as legends never die. ! Again. Anna, your most thoughtful, heartwarming and heartfelt comments are so much appreciated by his fans all over the world. Have a fabulous 2024 and Anna I wish you nothing but success in the coming year. Sending you always much thanks and love from Canada 👍🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️
Ron, can you start writing my intros and outros? You really know how to choose the right words! 😂
@@annavaskelainen it's comes easy when I watch you navigate your thoughts and analysis on your wonderful channel ! You inspire me ! 👍❤️
Look at Freddie and Brian doing Love of MY Life with freddie sitting on the stool with no shirt...you can see his abdominal muscles working like an opera singer that gives him that power.....
Thank you ...great reaction...Freddie wrote this as a tribute to Aretha Franklin...he had hoped that she would sing it one day......vestibular folds...Freddie’s vibrato🤩
I love that direct look to the camera at the start which says 'prepare to be rocked off your feet!'
😂
I love the “Inner back up singer” comment. This song, with its call and response gospel style, just gets you involved and you have to sing the back up to Freddie, there’s not an alternative option! I’ve belted along with this in the car so many times 😂 And Freddie’s vocals on this performance are A1, legendary. And Roger Taylors high harmonies are amazing too
Yup, it is totally in call and response style! That and the scales Freddia used made me say that "Gospel-rock"-comment!
"I won't be a Rock Star. I will be a Legend." -Freddie Mercury🔥
Classic after classic after classic, it's crazyyyyy...Freddie was one of the greatest frontman of all time, with a vocal control like no other (ability to blend highs, lows and mid range notes with immense precision and shift through registers effortlessly). The all members brought something unique + the fact that they all wrote songs is something that many people don't realize:)). Queen broke barriers in music and took it to another dimension.
Thank YOU, Anna!!! Can't wait for your analysis 🎶♥️🎶🔥
Can you pleeease include on your list an artist from my country with an incredible, unique and therapeutic voice that soothes the soul: MARO:)
He really was!
I couldn't have said it better than you and actually used pretty similar words in this analysis that you haven't seen yet at the time of writing this reply thehehee!
Maro? What would be the best songs to hear from that artist?
Hope to see you in the live chat MarA! :)
How can anyone not love Freddie’s captivating voice and Queen’s exquisite harmonies? If you’re not familiar with Freddie’s foray into Opera, I suggest “The Golden Boy”. Thanks!
(Shout out to Roger's backing vocal support!)
Saw them on their third stop on this tour. Had just turned 14 and it still stands as my favorite of all time.
I have watched this over and over and over - never get tired of it. Absolute perfection
anna your beauty remains the
same ❤❤❤------ in korea
Queen forever ^.^
First of all, I love this performance so much. I am a musician and I can't find fault with anything in this. It's amazing.
Second, I now want to move to Finland. 😍😂
Queen was my first concert as a kid! Freddie was amazing! They were all incredible!
More Queen please! Here are some recommendations:

You should watch the greatest rock performance ever, Queen at Live Aid. The best 20 minutes ever
As a huge Queen fan I would be happy with any analysis you would like to do as your obvious love for Freddy is beautiful to see...
Gifted performers at the top of their game. Freddie's onstage presence was incredible. I was lucky enough to see them in 1982, Kemper arena. I was 14. Never forget that performance.
Wow. In my book, that’s how you maximize your stage time and performance. You get up there, and you give it your all just like they did. You get yourself going and keep yourself going. You pour on the passion and you shoot for showmanship. And you just harness as much energy as you can, to put it into overdrive and send it all over the top. Then in the end you’ve created a great rendition for the ages. Bravo.
Well said ..
Beutifull soulful anjelic smooth heartfelt wonderful flowing ❤😊
Legendary, forever, there are no more words ❤❤❤❤❤
I can be short here: legendary band, legendary voice!
I might steal this one from you
I think the video that shows Freddie, and Queen, at their most versatile, for me, it would have to be the live, Live Aid 1985 video. 16 minutes of pure Queen covering several different songs and techniques. It is even more spectacular when you understand that Freddie was recovering from recent surgery on his throat, and his surgeon had advised him not to sing that day. Also, the way the audience reacted to them, and their performance was outstanding, and reputedly stole the show.
One of the absolute greatest showman and singer - EVER. I absolutely need a fan as well. But not for the same reason as You Anna. You are soooo beautiful that I get warm by just watching You. ❤
you need to react to the song called " SAVE ME " taken from the same show in montreal in 1981
I would LOVE to hear YOU sing , your little demo was soooo sweet .........Please !❤
What a fine reaction - as good as I’ve seen for any song. Your expertise and delivery are excellent. Loved your use of your native language with subtitles. Thank you so much…
In my ears this will forever be George Michael with queen singing this song at the tribute concert. Song itself always reminds me how special it is to have kids. Love them so much ❤
🙏
Greetings and many thanks from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦
More Queen & Freddie please
Perhaps Also him with Montserrat Cabelle ❤
The great thing about picking more Queen to review is their sound was always different. You've got the rockabilly sound from "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" to the sports stadium classic "We Will Rock You" to the hauntingly beautiful "Who Wants To Live Forever" just to name a few. You could probably do a six month video review series just by selecting some of their biggest hits across the decades. True musicians!
Haha you manage to make finnish sound sexy; on the other hand you really have a lot of musical insight. Very professional explanation about what makes Freddie special
😂👍🎵
What an incredible performance. They were a master band and Freddy was one of a kind! Thanks for the great reaction!
The Queen😊😊
You are absolutely enchanting, I enjoyed your reaction so much. I'd love to see you react to more of this concert, especially Save Me. Also Love of my life live at Wembley and Is this the World We Created at Live Aid.
Anna, Queen's album "A Kind of Magic" (1986), used in the HBO made for cable movie 'The Highlander' (a ripping good film, by the way) had some excellent tracks on it. One of the best was 'Who Wants to Live Forever'. Freddy really shows his range and sings his ass off on that track. So good. The copy I have also includes an instrumental version, which is also excellent.
I can’t understand what you say your voice is beautiful. I have no idea how I got here
Also your English is beautiful. I understand that. Georgia USA

There's subtitle available, you just need to click them on! 😊 Hope this helps!
MORE QUEEN ! 😃👑🔥
I feel your reaction, even though i don't speak Finish. Love it!
Queen fans? We're always here...yes to more Queen! You could spend the rest of your life analysing Freddie and Queen and I'd be here for every one of them.
Oh that would be easy analysing just them from now on hahah 😂
So many nuances in their work!
Thank you for your support!
Wow, this video makes me so happy. What a beautiful description. Genius stands the test of time
Another great one from this concert is Save Me, truly mesmerising
You are a joy to watch and listen to Anna. You love harmony? If you haven't yet, then listen to their biggest hit Bohemian Rhapsody (studio version). Mind blowing for it's time.
Four instruments,
Five microphones,
Four musical wizards,
No autotune.
yup!!
Freddie 😮
Finnish language is so beautifull 🤩
Brilliant performance - beautiful and joyful reaction! 👏👏👏
Hi you! 😊
Always happy to see you are still part of my music fam!
Have the best 2024!
@@annavaskelainen Same to you ♥
Its great to see you and Freddie together on the same screen 🤣he is legend!! Nick
Love your reactions, keep it up!
Mixing English and Finnish commentary is such a nice touch.
Thank you very much!
I started this channel during lock-down to be able to help my Finnish students better. However, things escalated quickly and as my channel grew to be more international, I started adding CC as well as speaking more English. I still have both too young and too old Finnish students to be able to read written Finnish. I've actually gotten tons of positive feedback on the bilingualism which I am of course very happy about!
Thanks, Anna!
You say the cutest things ^__^
It's been said a number of times already, but I'd love to see your reaction to "Who wants to Live Forever"...not the most famous of the songs by Queen, but its possibly one of the best for the range Freddie has to go through in the delivery
Well, here comes another Queen phase for me then, gotta listen to Freddie for about a month straight now to get enough of it, at least for a while... Also, i love how you explain techniques by demonstrating them, makes it much more easy to understand and try out. Thanks, Anna.
Thank YOU. 🥰
ty 🙏🙏
Queen wasn't exactly on my playlist, but when they came on the radio I was listening to it! 🤔👍 To me, they were the definition of feel good music. Fun reaction! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Queen Live Aid -Full Concert. You won’t be disappointed.
Love how you get excited and switch back and forth from English Norwegian. I’m from south Texas and used to people switching from English to Spanish
Norwegian? 😂
@@annavaskelainen Sorry I should have said Finnish. Or could it be Sweedish as I understand it Sweedish is commonly spoken in Finland
The man was awesome. He could rapid fire words pretty clearly. The one song in mind would be STONE COLD CRAZY from the Shear Heart attack album, my personal favorite. Also on the album Roger Taylor the drummer sings a song called TENEMENT FUNSTER!! Probably a top 5 Queen song for me. He is the unspoken hero. He does the super high harmonies and on this song a awesome Rock vocal!! Also Brian May sings a folk song called "39". Gorgeous song. There is a great live video. Great Channel!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
I've known all the lyrics to Stone Cold Crazy for years but always get tripped up when trying to sing along with Freddie!
@@ellet6560 Haaa indeed! The man was awesome! My favorite album. ☮️
Roger also takes lead vocals on I'm in Love With My Car
@@jimwilcox2964 Ahh yaaa that's right!! ☮️
I like that you heard and applauded the trading of harmony vocals at about 4 minutes.. they made that seem so easy, but it is not
outstanding performance by all the band a roger taylor, presented by a beautiful sweet girl, thanks anna
I really enjoy your reaction videos. Freddy has plenty of material for you to discuss, and help us better understand what he’s doing at times. I’m grateful that I was able to see Queen in London.
Wow ! Finnish is a beautiful language,so easy on the ear ,not at all like German or the slavic togues, plus it it doe not hurt when a pretty girl is talking. When Freddie came to the front to interact with the audience it was because he heard Brian having a technical problem with his guitar so like the great pro he was he filled in until the thing was repaired and nobody knew. Ihad to subscribe so i can hear you talk more !
Thank YOU for such a lovely message David! 😊
And thx also for the insight! Interesting!
thank you so much for a wonderful reaction. Watch many people do this, but he comments only pick up a portion of the story. They do so much here, the band is great, the harmonies are amazing both in terms of voices and arrangement and, yes, Freddie is his usual one-of-a-kind performer and singer. Your analysis reflects not only your own knowledge but how and why the choices made matter. Thanks again.
This performing, this voice is from another world, from another universe! Freddie was not singing, he felt and lived the songs, these emotions transported with music and lyrics! After listening to this song more than hundred times, it still makes my eyes „sweat“ ;-)
This old guy loves your reactions and of course your beauty. And Queen
How I love to watch the reactions without being filled with... mmm, it's a thrill. I just want to smear myself from head to toe.
When the drummers backing vocal is better than most modern pop singers
I've been listening to Queen for decades and never knew that he used hammer vibrato. All I ever knew was that he sounded spectacularly unique. Now I know one of the many reasons why!!!!
(also, in my defense though... I didn't even know there was such a thing until all y'all UA-cam vocal coaches told me. 😜 )
Thank you for this, Anna!!! 💗
Happy to teach you something new! 😊
Wow your intro speech made me interested in learning finnish...
Great reaction and analysis, as always. I appreciate the subtitles because while I am an English speaker, I have to admit that Finnish is much more pleasing to the ear than English.
Freddie was one of the best examples of the difference between a singer and a performer.
Since we are talking about classic rock, I recently discovered the Canadian three-piece band, Triumph. They were an Award-Winning band in the '70s and '80s but were often overshadowed by Rush, because, well, it's Rush. I think you would have a lot to talk about with lead singer and guitarist, Rik Emmett's, voice. He had a soaring voice and is a phenomenal guitarist at the same time. The rest of the band is great too. I hope you have a chance to check out "Fight the Good Fight" from their US Festival concert in 1983 (link below). Aside from his vocals, the whole band puts on an awesome show and they have one of the best outros I've seen in a while. I'm guessing this was the last song of their set. Great work and keep fighting the good fight. See what I did there?😉
ua-cam.com/video/Xevc7-7Tk-Q/v-deo.htmlsi=VKdbXIYDgopHMRBU
Aww thank you for the Finnish appreciation moment! Means a lot. 😊🙏
Oh really hope this one will get more votes!
Brian May said in an interview that his guitar solos mostly are based on the idea of taking over from the vocals, continuing, extrapolating on and developing the song's theme/story and then handing it back. So - his guitar is actually yet another vocalist 😁😉.
You're an excellent teacher. Tnaks for reacting to Queen 👋👋👋
So pretty ~~
Nice reaction, No auto tune back then gave the artist much more freedom in their live performances. Freddie is a perfect example of that, never 2 live performances the same.
Anna , hyvä juttu mitä seurata !
Kiitos ja lisää
To make it even crazier he was battling laryngitis at the time😳
remember this is at a LIVE Concert before computer enhancements where a thing no auto tune ECT just PURE Talent this is what made queen Great. i have been a huge queen Fan since 1976 and i still listen to them on a regular basis.... name me ONE Group in todays music that sounds this good LIVE Without any enhancements???.
Super!!!!!
Hi Anna. Thank you so much for your brilliant reaction. I would love to hear more Queen reactions
Best wishes , Jerry ,Cape Town South Africa.
Thank you for popping in and writing me a comment Jerry! 😊 Be well!
Freddie now teaches the Angels how to sing.
Well said right there
Matt Corby singing his song "Brother" live on a radio show here in Australia called "Like A Version". It's just him and his guitar and I think you'll be impressed by his vocal skills. It's an experience!
A "monument" of music, still a vulnerable and sensitive artist - in my opinion. I admit being pretty hyped for your reaction Anna. One-time watching won't do to get all the details of your Anna-lysis. But it's always worth the time 😊👍🎼🎶👍
as someone more connectedto your culture through your best goal scorer than your culture. love the reaction.
You must watch their set from Live Aid. Then you’ll see how Freddie interacts with the audience.
Freddy was a real "stage animal"!!
Ah yes Dr. Brian May's solo is awesome just like how he is the resident rock musician at the European Space Agency that and his phd in astrophysics
