How do you get the light blue and dark blue color when up cycling denim jeans into shorts? Along with the leafy light print you added to them?

The process is actually one and the same! It's a process called cyanotype printing, AKA "sun printing". You essentially paint a combination of two substances on the fabric, place whatever shaped thing you want over the painted space (I like to use leaves, flowers, and other foraged natural objects), and then expose it to the sun for a short period of time (which varies slightly depending on the UV index of that particular day). Then once you wash out the excess solution in cold water, it leaves the area exposed to the sun that dark blue color and a negative space for where the sun was shaded.
I've lost just over 11 stone since July last year. I'm not rich. I will be taking apart some of my old clothes and making new ones out of them. Far too big a difference to just alter them to fit.
