    all of this is so true! i did it before and i easily lost weight and my skin was the clearest it's ever been!! gotta do this again for summer. very helpful

    Another well explained tool to add to the Fitness Belt always great to try many different things out. I used a Ketogenic back in 2014 when I had a Photoshoot and Damn the Adapting period sucked ass but I felt great after about a week but went on vacay and fell off of it lol

    I tried Keto before and it was fucking awesome. Energy was amazing, hunger was so minimal but my favourite thing about it which I didn't expect was how I felt mentally, I felt so sharp, focused and creative.

    Great video. Wanted to get into summer shape and considered the keto diet, did it for a few days and then stepped away from it after reading from a lot of people saying they felt shitty and deprived of energy and was afraid it would be interfering with my resistance training. I guess i will wait out the rest of the series and might give it another shot.
    Also you mentioned the keto diet takes it beyond just calories in and calories out. Are you saying that you can actually keep your caloric deficit a little bit lower on when you are in ketosis and yet drop similar weight?

I cant wait for the next video because I have been IF fasting for coming up on three years now and I have been using a the Keto diet during my eating hours and it does wonders for me at 44 but I will say if I don't carb backload after sprints and workouts are just not the same. How do you have that same issues?

    Hey Brandon! I have been watching you and listening to your podcasts every day since almost 7 months and I can easily say you motivated me and made me think where am I in life and where I want to be and what it takes to get there. Thanks to you I started reading books, working out and challenging myself with the discipline muscle everyday :D About the keto diet. Have you thought if the keto diet is suitable for an endurance athlete (to be specific a mountain bike racer, where you are 2 hours on the gas like I am). Until now, when racing, I used to eat a lot of carbohydrates (carbohydrate loading), because I have read the Pro's do it. Whats your opinion on that? Thank you brother!

    macro percentages vs actual grams, like max grams of carbs and protein?
    net carbs or total carbs
    and if net carbs do you separate soluble and insoluble fibre?

    Would the keto diet also help me lose weight as well as fat? I'm fairly new to fitness and although I've had my fair share of working out and sports, I know nothing about dieting. Do I need to lift weights to make this work for me?? I've only been doing cardio because I've reached my highest weight at 300 and a retiring smoker, so I figured I needed my lungs back and blood pumping right again.

    I love keto...been on it for about 4 months...especially the mental clarity & the bonus for me is cutting weight while not craving junk food...I have to force myself to eat sometimes since the fats keep you full since it breaks down slowly. I highly recommend keto if your cutting for the summer or all year round👍🏽plus, who doesn't like bacon & whole (w/yoke) eggs everyday.

    Im in my 7th day today,and i've been doing fine i think,the 3rd to the 4th day after the gym i felt euphoric and really good,but i've been experiencing some pressure in my chest and some pressure and pain aswell in my kidney and liver? i've been eating a whole mayonaise jar,alot of eggs and bacon,also alot of sausage and whippin cream into the eggs,butter all over it,drinking alot of water and been taking magnesium c and d-vitamins,also raspberry ketonic fatburners? is there anythign wrong here or should i keep going as i am?

    Would this be a suitable diet for someone borderline diabetic? I'm hoping to get built, and gain weight a healthy way. A number of diets people use for weight/muscle gain would wreak havock on me though.

      1) this is not enough for a meal (at least not for a young male)
      2) steak + eggs has much more proteins than fat so that is not a ketogenic meal

    I'm going into my 3rd week of keto and I've gotten a lot of bad acne around my temple. I usually get maybe one or two pimples here and there but the pimples i just got came in bulk and it looks terrible. Everything I've read on keto says it's supposed to reduce acne but for me it's the opposite. I'm 26 and the last thing I wanna worry about is acne on my face, has anyone else experienced breakouts on keto?

    I mix a keto diet with prolonged fasting (trying to reduce body fat). I noticed that prolonged fasts are easier once your body does shift to burning fat easier. I did a 5 day prolonged (no cal) fast and felt drained a lot of the time. Didn't feel the mental focus until day 4. This time doing the a 3 day I was full of energy as well as very alert/mental focus from day 1 and didn't feel near as hungry. I miss the focus already. It's almost like a high.

    The post meal paralysis definitely goes away when on keto. I notice that my energy levels don't fluctuate much anymore. Even when I drink coffee I don't from caffine high to crash anymore. Beta Hydroxybutyrate is definitely a more stable fuel.

    ( I hope he responds)Ok so I'm currently living low carb but looking at this ice been going about it all wrong ! Ok so I've seen weight loss plenty like u said but I'm just not THERE yet . So my usually day is like 3 pork chops morning 3 times a day to get the basis of what I eat. So if eating to much protein is the problem.. how to you eat fat ? And lots without consuming protein ? There are only like 3 actual foods, that work like that ?

    I hear you and the scientific evidence! But eating mostly fats and some protein must be so boring and unsustainable🤔. Currently doing IF and moderate caloric deficicit. Will give Keto a try tho, gotta experiment. So maybe eat at mantainance but 75/20/5 macros?

    You said the ketogenic diet is 5% Carbs, 20% Protein and 75% Carbs. And my question is: Do u still have to eat 1g protein per lbs of lean bodymass to maintain your muscles or do i have to eat 600g of fat when im eating 160g of protein a day?

    This is my 2nd time doing keto but combining it with18 hour intermittent fasting. On keto I've lost fat, energy levels are the highest it's been and i've had no strength loss or muscle loss like I've had when cutting on carbs. Keto is the truth and I love it because Im a salt fiend and on this diet you need plenty of sodium.

    I fail to understand how such low carbs and protein are good for building muscle. I thought after a workout you needed to replace your muscle with glycogen which is supplemented with carbs. So I assume the 5% carbs are taken after the workout and the rest of the day will be fully fat/protein? As well 20% protein on a 3500 calories bulk diet would be 175g protein (160lb male, 5'10" trying to hit 185)? Isn't that a high amount of trying to bulk? Thus at times when bulking on keto, you are also on a protein surplus which never gets used and converted like you mentioned no? So how does bulking work like that? I am sure you will explain that in the next video, but just in case I hope you see my comment because this is what confused me. Thanks, keep it up!
