“Dropping the perfectionism” I just love that❣️ Instead of “failing” this is such a better approach. Those “slips” with cooked food are really good for reminding us of how much better we feel on the raw foods, and then they become fewer and farther in between.

    You ladies look so amazing.
I was 295-300 lbs with a knee replacement than I happen to see a video from John McDougall. What he was saying I would believe it an on one his video he said, " Give me 2 weeks if you don't feel better continue with your diet". So I took his challenge..
It hard only cause I was not used to eating like that. I almost gave up on my first meal, but I stuck with it. I lost over 100 lbs, and not going back anymore. After COVID when I saw my everyone thought I got or was sick. I told them I never felt so alive in my life. Everyone says how sick they feel but won't give it a chance. Both of my 35yrs old or so obese, I tell them to watch videos like these, but can't force them. Love your videos. Stay young, beautiful and healthy. Thank you 👍

It's helpful for me to hear experience of people who have struggled with food addiction specifically.. When you come from food addiction, the transition can feel really overwhelming as you have a not so healthy relationship with food anyway.. So, their perspective really helps me to customize it for my situation and be gentle on me. So, thanks for inviting Katie for this interview, Gillian. You both look amazing!

My husband and I went raw vegan about 14 years ago and we were raw for around 7 years , but then went travelling and it was too difficult. We are getting back to it now, that is why I am watching everything for inspiration.
On raw, the energy is incredible, clarity and stability of mind. Just peaceful. We also had my dad who had Alzheimers join us for 5 years and a lot of his issues were reversed. In fact he went from sleeping for 18 hours and not able to get out of the house with a major depression as well, to staying awake for 16 hours a day, going to the beach by himself and his depression was actually lifted in 1 week from starting raw.
Since getting off raw, although we still eat about 70% raw, we gained weight, I got a mind fog and my skin is not that great, not looking hydrated. I also have a bad taste in my mouth which I cannot stand. We eat very clean and by society standards we are really healthy for our age (at 65 still are not taking any medications), but having done it before, I know I can do better...
When it comes to suntanning for sensitive skin, I was super sensitive and burned really easily. When I started on raw, it went down substantially. Then I discovered Baiden Mitten and that was another game changer. I could stay in the sun for couple of hours without burning and peeling. Since going off raw and still using the mitt, I don't burn easily, but my skin is a lot drier... Really looking forward to getting the energy and vitality back soon :-)

Today is my second day eating mostly raw. I haven’t done the bulk of my grocery shopping yet so I’m doing my best with what I have. I needed to hear the part about not being all or nothing. If I can do 90% raw most days… I’ll reap the benefits! Thanks for the insp!

    • @boshenaw.929
      @boshenaw.929 11 місяців тому +3

@@Karenhypnotic I found it a lot easier to go fully raw than partially. My mind just switched. I got rid of anything that needed to be cooked and went raw overnight. Took me about 2 weeks to get fully adjusted and my main food was fruit and lots of fresh salads with really great dressings. They were the game changer.
I did not even have a dehydrator for the first year so it was very basic, but the results were so fast that it did not matter.
Of course on raw your taste buds change as well and so everything you eat is X100 more flavoursome so we did not miss anything 🙂

Gillian, I positively loved this interview! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I never knew why but I couldn’t be a vegan much less a vegetarian, but years ago when I discovered the raw vegan diet, I wanted to do it but I couldn’t because the only thing that has always resonated with me has been the fruitarian diet, and your guess here has validated me.
I am a huge fan of Eli, Alice, prof. Arnold Ehret, and and the frugivore diet. I have tried and tried but I cannot be a vegetarian or vegan or even raw vegan! I must be a fruitarian because it is the only thing that truly resonates with me.
Your guess said something very important-well, she said a lot of very important things, to be clear-, but she mentioned that we ought to follow what we align with, and indeed we ought to.
One day Gillian, when I become a proper fruitarian and have a great story to share, I hope you invite me to your channel. In the mean time, I am so grateful for the inspiration you give! 🙏🏼

Our grandparents ate more fresh food from rhe garden or veg stand . They did eat meat but it wasn’t how people are eating now . Considering the way the animals live and die in factory farming , veganism is the way to go . Raw is amazing . I woke to my birthday this morning doing shots 😂. yes I do believe in God but I don't necessarily believe everything in the bible
      I don't do a fruitarian diet
      it doesn't work for me
I like to do mono clenanses of only fruit but then I miss my greens I like a variety
but I love hearing the stories of people who do
