I did it, I rode the LONGEST mountain coaster in America. While heading down to Tennessee, Lili said she wants to do something fun & exciting. So while browsing the web, I came upon a site for the coaster of all Mountain coasters. The Smoky Mountain Alpine coaster, which is located in Pigeon Forge boasts the record for being the Longest coaster in America. So we knew we had to ride it. Was it the best idea with my fear of heights? Probably not, but it made for a fun video. So come along for an exciting adventure on the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster. Enjoy

Good for you confronting your fear! 👏🏽👏🏽 Not a lot of people would do that. I've heard that's the definition of courage - being afraid and doing it anyway. I'm not much for roller coasters, either. It always amazes me how, even if we recognize there is nothing to be afraid of, that primal feeling arises. It would be a great thing if we could set aside fear and enjoy these things.

I myself have a breathing disability, and I used to LOVE rollercoasters. I agree with you 1000% that these are cool. But I so want to ride it. 😢 😢

Clearly he’s never been to six flags.
I rode every ride at Six flags. With mountain coasters you're in a lttle cart, you can't see the edge to the left/right. You have to ride it. Everyone who rides is terrified. I was slightly.. I can sleep on six flags rides. No addrenaline. It looks easy but it is a little scary.

I ride this one everytime we go out to Pigeon to visit my brother and his family... so worth it... so awesome!
I would like to see a pov from the one that goes like a speed demon because that's how I would ride and your ride was really slow and took the fun out of it for me. No offense and I don't mean that to be like I'm putting you down. I respect you ride the way you felt safe at.

run it at 1.5 or 2x speed if you dont want to feel like a pansy.
I have been here several times and done full speed! At certain points, it feels like the cart has come off of the track. Insane alpine coaster, a lot of fun.

I saw one where the hill lift came at the end and it took almost 5 minutes. I think it's much better to have the slow climb come at the beginning for anticipation.

Rode this with my cousins and uncles about a year ago. No brakes!!!! It was a blast. If you intend to ride the others in the area save this one for last. It is the best. It was better than the go-karts.
i thought all coasters were like this, 1st time i ever did a coaster, it was this one at full speed.

I'm afraid of heights but I'll try anything once. I've bungie jumped did alpine slides years ago, used to ride coasters constantly at Cedar Point. But now I'm grounded due to neck surgery. But Id be tempted to try that. My doc might not agree:(
Looks fun but something to remember: it's better to go all the way through with no brakes bc you wont have to worry about collisions
Constructed in Germany! We have 4 Alpine Coasters in southern Germany and in neighboring Austria. Great fun to drive.
I was brought up on roller coasters from the time I was tall enough. Six flags in Georgia visiting my Aunt and uncle was my first experience. I’m 63 now and can’t get enough of the thrill. Don’t know when the time comes when you get too old. We just renewed our year round pass at Busch Gardens.
Frank, I grew up about 30 minutes away from Six Flags over Georgia. In fact, my first job was working there. It's truly a fun place to visit. I haven't been in a very long time but they have new coasters to ride and I'm definitely a coasters person. 🙂

Three times I watched the coaster go right off the rails right at the top at Great Adventure in Jackson,N.J. They DID get it fixed though.
Many years ago at the wooden coaster there a guy stood up while on the ride, a head meeting a huge wooden beam wins every time. Enough said. Ads are over, video time.

The nicer part was getting to spend time with the dolfins that swam around in a big pool under the pool they performed in during the day.

Ok. I am terrified of heights and I went zip lining over a 700 FT drop. I closed my eyes the entire time I was petrified. The guy even said I could stop over the drop and take a look. HELL NAH

Bruh I went zip lining at the Riviera Maya in Mexico. Each zip line went higher up as you kept going. My favorite one was the Superman zip line, which is where you’re fastened in from your chest and feet, and you slide down on your stomach. I wonder if the guy in the video would be down for that...?

My 8 year old and 4 year old grandsons go full speed no brakes all the way. That is their favorite.
It’s beautiful the way it is, leaves on the ground, beautiful colors. Nothing wrong with it exactly as it is.

I had no idea, I rode this for around 2 years ago on vacation for spring break, I screamed the f word the hole way down but it was super fun, nothing to be scared of.
We rode that Saturday evening at dusk. It was a great ride, but I think it would be a trip at night. Kept it wide open the whole way.

Come on, man. That's not anything close to "Oh, God!" The whole point of riding coasters is the adrenaline and the experience of g force. If the thing is designed not to fly off the tracks on the turns, then I really don't see why it has brakes.

I rode the same one in the summer I went full speed! It was really fun and if anyone wants to ride one I recommend full speed it’s way more fun.

I'm scared of heights but I rode this. My hubby and another couple in line told me not to hit the breaks. Phew chile, that coaster was definitely a thrill. Those turns make it feel like you're gonna fly off the ride. I looked down to make sure my seatbelt was still secure😂🤣.
I understand the feeling of not controlling your body when you rode this. I have rode it and felt the same way. I hate ferris wheels. Cant get on one and ski lifts. no control sucks. Rode up to the sky bridge on the ski lift, Got a ride back down from a tourist.

I remember riding this one it was at like 11:30 and freezing outside but it was still one of the best things I’ve ever rode

So when you went full speed did you ever get the feeling of crashing if you didn't put on the brakes or did you feel safe? I'd love to ride that. I'm only 3.5 hrs from Pigeon Forge.
That's a really fun coaster. I've been on it twice. The night ride is awesome.
