I've ridden about 15 of these in the U.S, mostly in the Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg area. The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is the longest in the Smokies. These rides all have governors on the track & cars that limit speed to 30-35 MPH, so there really isn't one that's "the fastest." If you ride brakeless you can feel the car slow down. I'm a wood roller coaster hobbyist but do enjoy these once in a while. Their biggest problem is they all do just about the same thing, mild dips, turns and spirals. After riding 5 or 6 I realized they're all very similar insofar as what the track does and how the ride feels. I did ride the one in this video & remember it feeling like it was way too short. Great video! Glad you liked it!
@@vegasstoker9647 Currently there's around 87 in the U.S. from the two main manufacturers, ADG & Weigand. I've ridden 8 in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, 9 if you include the one in nearby Sevierville. One is a single-rail coaster (Rail Runner, Anakeesta) and one just opened (Hellbender, Anakeesta). Railrunner is my favorite. The single rail allows for a wilder layout. Others I've ridden in Glenwood Springs & Vail, CO; Park City & Snowbird, Utah, and 3 in Branson, MO. I also rode the new one in Leavenworth, WA in Sept. So, my total is 19. I'm a wooden roller coaster hobbyist, but if I'm near a mountain coaster I'll ride it. They're mildly fun but they all feel the same. I've also ridden a few where the car rides in a trough instead of on a track, the Alpine Slide at Mount Hood & one near Holyoke, Massachusetts in the 80s. The one at Mt. Hood still operates & has a _spectacular_ view! These always cost too much to ride! Normally around $20-$30. I think the one at Lake Placid, NY is in the $50 range!
I neverrrr thought I would have a video with 100,000 views that is so crazy! I know I said I would shut up but I guess I felt obligated to talk with the camera rolling🤣 but thank you so much for watching please consider watching some of my other videos it would mean a lot!
It would be interesting to ride it at night in pitch darkness. Maybe a few flashes of lightning 🌩 of a brewing thunderstorm. Just saying. Have a great weekend everyone
I been on a lot of these mountain ride coasters. Two of the fastest i been on were in N.H. 35mph ride is for toddlers. If you demand speed I would recommend a real fast ride in Switzerland. Its called Oeschinensee Kandersteg.🇨🇭 These rides are very common but when they were first introduced they would tear you to pieces from the high speed turns. This particular ride id request they take the brakes out and ride as fast as you can. This being your third ride , i hope you find something faster in your journeys!
Man that one looks fast but I don't think it's as fast as the one in Anakeesta which I think is new. That was my first mountain coast and MAN it's scary, especially if you're on the heavier side the whole thing is just super super sharp turns going completely downhill. Very fun but also insanely scary, especially since they make you sign a waiver haha
I was almost about to go on that one even though I was 10 pounds from the weight limit but it started to rain so I never ended up doing it probably for the best lol
I have always hated when the people in front of you stay on the brakes! It ruins it for everyone! It's definitely no fun when this happens. We've rode all of them many times and they're by far our favorite thing to do!
Try backwoods zip lining down a mountain like that! Harnessed in the “Superman” position .. Did it in PA tionesta , kinzu area mid 1990’s . -Country folk way trying to teach their wild kids what a “sober high” is… holy fcuk man, I can assure you, 70-90mph (with no brakes & speed being very obvious) is not exaggerated! Weights slow you down @ the bottom of the mountain one by one & guy is up on platform to unharness you. You’ll never do this cart thing ever again once you experience that.
It isnt the fastest in Gatlinburg or America... I rode this one before and I will say it is defiantly not the fastest. I'd say either the Anakeesta one or maybe the Alpine one in Pigeon Forge.
@@wadefletchervlogs7626 It did look like fun. I’ve never been on one before but we’ll be going to pigeon forge next spring so I’m going to have to give it a try.

There's only 5 in the Pics on Forge area where else have you rode one. 15 is a lot. I've rode 3 in Branson and two in Pigeon Forge.

Fast yes but disappointingly short.

I bet😂😂
haaha aaahhh aren't you all a bunch of comedians.
I record in time-lapse, making it even shorter. 😂

Great video, finally someone taking it full speed! Thanks buddy
5:09 so it's seems to... not be going to fast right off the bat... : 05:30 holllyy shittt.🤣 Enjoyed the video bro thank you🙏🏽
Me and my family taking a trip there this summer it look amazing. I’m looking forward to it.
1 minute....really?Hard no.More fun in any car driving the roads
I’d Hate to go to early and have to slow down because I caught up with the person in front.

They're _all_ speed governed to about 35 MPH, so none are really faster than others. It _feels_ faster than 35 however, when you're riding.
I thought you were going to be quiet. Probably enjoyed it better
The coolest part was the cammo Crocs
Too freakin' short!
Says he'll shut up then proceeds to talk all the way down.
Then go ride it yourself and enjoy the quiet🤣
I used to go to pigeon forge as a kid. on summer vacation. IT was fun. dollywood
I thought some tribal drums had started playing when he started getting pulled up the hill.
Thank you for the ride along!!
I kept waiting for the ride to start.
I road that and tried to resist breaking as much as possible. But I failed horribly.
I think a mountain coaster would work a lot better if you put it on top of a mountain. Also I don't think this guy get's out to often...
Why do you think it’s called a mountain coaster? Because it’s on a mountain 🤣 and I travel all over the place so yeah I get out all the time
If you look at the coaster's they have in europe you will see the difference I'm talking about
@@robertgroff2105l saw a European one before this one and it looks 100x better!

Being a few pounds below the limit on Rail Runner is far from being 97 pounds over the limit on the Orlando drop tower.
I went on this last summer and it was awesome, went 31 mph! It was great definetly worth it! :) (ITS SO COOL LOOKING AT NIGHT)
We went to the Smoky Mountain area and pretty much rode all the mountain coasters there.. At the time! 😂
Holy Shit, Holy shit, why did you get on it,!!!
I am going to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for the first time ever in July. What's the longest coaster and what are the weight restrictions?
My all time favorite was the smoky mountain alpine coaster that is the longest and in my opinion the most fun. I believe the weight limit is 300
@@wadefletchervlogs7626 Thanks so much
How many coasters are in Gatlinburg?! You keep mentioning this is the fastest in Gatlinburg!
There are 6 that I know of right off the top of my head

My daughter and I have rode this coaster and we absolutely flew it was so fast. You are in a little 2 person cart by yourself. So hang on.
We absolutely love this ride. Glad you had a holy shit good time.

Who needs breaks 😈😈
Squirrel!
Short but sweet
As Stormy Daniels said. Very quick, very short, and scary enough to keep your eyes closed.
"I'm finna die." haha
It seemed a bit rough. But I'd definitely try it 🙂
It was a little bumpy but nothing crazy, another one goats on the roof is very rough it’ll beat you up🤣
Been there & love it. 🤟
A perfect run.
this is so funny love it
Woo hooo hooo ow ow ow 😂
Did it have strap for the feet?Otherwise it was not safe at all.
No but your strapped in

Nice speed but way to short a ride.

Wow amazing
I was disappointed it was to short
I agree but a lot of fun! And now you can pay 30$ and ride it for a unlimited amount of times which is well worth it
My brakes didnt work.
I'm not so sure you handled it well because you were cursing like a sailor.
Did I miss the name of this coaster?
It is now called the moonshine mountain coaster in gatlinburg Tennessee
Downhill portion starts at 4:54.
