I made a purchase today on your website for a mirror itself and not the entire housing after watching your videos. Thank you for helping me to save a lot of money by showing us how to do the job myself. You are amazing for sharing the knowledge!!
Sidenote...That glass cleaner he is using is one of the best. Windex is nothing compared to that one. Great video!! Just researching to see if after 5 years I can actually replace my mirror. I actually decided NOT to use Amazon because how great this video is. Ordered directly from the 1A website. THANKYOU!!!!!
I’ve watched this quite a few times along with some others. May I make a suggestion please. When you are digging in a place where the camera can’t show. When you get it off or out. Could you take it to the bench and show us where you are pushing pulling or prying? Like this mirror assembly. I just can’t seem to figure out where to pry this out.! I tell you I really appreciate the time these take to make and I know that I’m not just talking about one or two videos here. I could fix’s this puddle light swap. If I could just get the mirror glass out of the way for a few minutes. Maybe a cut away version or a assembly of parts just to show it in a little more detail. Man that could be a whole new channel.
Thank you!! I'll be checking your website to order my replacement side mirror. Now I see exactly how to take off the old one myself to see if the connector has 2 or 4 prongs. I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 with signal. Some of the other mirrors I've found on other sites, people comment that theirs has a 2 or 4 and the one they ordered was the opposite.
Once you got the mirror off, and you were cleaning the inside circular piece, I believe that’s the area that’s broken in mine, so my mirror is just kind of dangling. Do you know what I could order for the interior of the mirror without replacing the whole housing unit so my mirror will clip back on and be secure? 2006 Silverado
Do you have the ring mount? Someone stole my left side mirror, I just got the replacement for I found out there’s no ring where it clicks to stay in place.
*DO NOT bend it outward If you have power folding mirrors* ************************************************************* (I'm for real, I pushed mine too hard and broke it off, working the mounting point of the housing and had to buy an entirely new door and fender!) I just watched to see what the five wires are that comes into the door. No harness in the door to connect it to but now I know the mirrors have something in there. Two blacks, one white, two colors. Thing is Im not seeing any change in the mirror for the lights. Its solid all the way across. Other than that the only button on the doors are the electric lock. For being a base model 07 Classic there sure is a lot of wires not hooked up.
I noticed the mirror you removed, like mine had 4 wires going into that plug and 4 wires going around the glass back, plus the heated 2 wires. Is there some difference with the OE being 4 wires on the plug to the new ones being 2 wires? Mine doesn't have auto dimming but every mirror I look at on your site or any others shows only 2 wires like the one you replaced it with. Am I missing something that the new ones only need 2 wires connected to the plug now instead of the 4? HELP !!!!
+Tim Davis The mirrors would have to be replaced on an option for option basis depending on the features you have. If the amount of wires don't match, the parts won't be able to work properly for your vehicle.
@@1AAuto Mine has the exact mirror you replaced with the same plug with 4 wires that the new one went to the 2 wire. From all I've found online, even thru the GM sites it's just because the feature was changed to not require all 4 wires now, or the mirror was that way with 4 wires because it had the auto dim available but it wasn't installed. Only things I can find. Mine has the wiring hardness/plugs for the puddle lights on the mirror but that wasn't installed, either. It's there if I need or want to add it I guess. Still, It works just fine so maybe it was just mine wasn't equipped with auto dimming but the OEM mirror was ready for that option but not installed. Thanks. Your video here DID help me find out how to replace mine and that is appreciated.
i was just wondering if the passenger side mirror is convex or flat . I installed mirrors i bought on amazon but they're flat and it makes it hard to see blind spots and especially hard to see the curb when im parking.
I noticed the original mirror had 4 wires to the connector. The new mirror you installed only has 2 wires? What is the difference? Why is there only 2 wires instead of 4?

I can't remove the two small clips attached to the circuit board. I almost thought they were soldered. When I pull them, they pull the entire board with them so I had to stop. What can I do to get them off? (This is a 2009 Chevy Silverado). Thank you.
what do I do if my mirror's vibrating too much while driving? One side is fine, the other is not but I can't figure out which part is loose to make it vibrating like that.
I have a gmc and I purchased a driver side replacement mirror but the contact are different on the mirror side is two plug and the gmc is four plug. How can I wire this?
+anthony rodriguez Thanks for watching! It sounds like the mirror you purchased will not work on your vehicle. When purchasing a new mirror you want to make sure that it has the same exact features as your original.
You did not mention that you are replacing the driver's side mirror that has the "auto dim" feature with a cheap mirror that does not. This is an important bit of information that people should know about when shopping for a replacement if the feature is important to them. There are plenty of inexpensive replacement mirrors without the "auto dim" feature. With the "auto dim" feature, the replacements get very expensive for some reason.
@dcairns61 How can a person tell if their original is auto dimming, by looking at the back of the mirror? I think I do, but am not sure, and if I do, this particular mirror won't work.
Can you do this for a 96 chevy tahoe my driver side busted... The truck has a custom paint job all around and dont want to pay to paint the new side mirror since they only come in black

I put mine on, snap/clicked in peefect. No clown house effect or anything, mirror turns left and right cherry, up and down not so good. Down works good positioning up gets stuck
Ok thanks I'm in need of just getting a new mirror an I want to go to pick n pull but I'm not sure how it would pull off if it's the same or not don't want to break it trying it without knowing
