      You would think after he made 4 or 5 videos (maybe even more than that) of having to remove the switches and door panel for various things wrong in there he would figure out that unless the switch panel needs to be replaced there is no need to take it off the door panel anyways. Just unplug it and leave it on the door panel. The 2002 and older has clips on the side and can be removed without taking the whole door panel off.

    What i was wondering is,,, I have a plain jane chevy silverado roll up and manual non power doors with no heated mirrors. Is my truck pre wired for heated mirrors? Or do I have to buy some kit to have heated mirrors? Any ideas?

    I'm trying to switch my 05 silverado mirrors with no arrows for a set off a 05 chevy suburban with arrows on mirrors....will it fit and why is the suburban mirror have shorter wire and on the video the wire is all the way to switch.....

    On my 2005 Suburban LT, when removing what the mechanic in this video calls at 0:23 seconds into replacing the mirror "We're going to move along to this right here...", which is removing the switch cluster, where the electrical cables connect, he has this procedure out of order time-wise and is also incorrect in assuming it's only held in place by "clippy-do's", as there is a 7mm screw that secures the forward part of the switch cluster to the door panel that must be unscrewed FROM THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL AFTER THE DOOR PANEL IS REMOVED. On the vehicle in the video, both the back and front "clippy-do's" and the screw are broken, so it comes out without a problem. You can see the tip of the screw sticking up at 0:40 sec thru 0:44 sec, and at 0:49 sec thru 0:56 sec in this video. You can remove the back part of the switch cluster by using a plastic trim tool, but if you persist in forcing the front part out with it, or a stiffer metal pry bar, you're going to break that portion of the switch cluster that the screw fastens to. Frankly, the switch cluster doesn't need to be removed to replace the mirror as only the very rear black connector and the blue connector need to be disconnected and replaced. I was able to remove them working from the top down from outside my Suburban through the open window after all the panel securing screws, lock and door handle bezels had been removed, and I also didn't need to disconnect the door courtesy light connector as is done at 2:21 thru 2:31 in this video. Maybe there are switch clusters that don't have screws securing them on earlier models, but on my 2005, and on the vehicle in this video, the switch cluster is definitely secured with both "clippy-do's" and a 7mm screw...and there's actually no need to remove the switch cluster from the door panel, nor remove any other electrical connectors from it other than the two previously mentioned black and blue connectors for the mirror.

    You're wrong on removing small plastic
    pedastel with switches because my 2003 GMC had a 7mm screw in the front, which of course pulled out when i pryed the part of as you said, there are no covered screws or plastic pins either on this door , only 1 screw in the bottom. Just lift up panel and pull.

    The power window sometimes has screws holding it in. It depends on the year of the vehicle. Just remove the door panel first to see if yours has screws holding that assembly together or you'll break it.

    You need to mention that when you remove electric window door lock and mirror component you will almost certainly break the plastic slot and pin that connects to door panel. After I broke the one on the drivers door I decided it was not necessary to remove per your video. You even mentioned that they were broken when you put it back together because you broke them when you removed it is why. Installers beware of this. Thumbs down because of this.

    • @TheRudedaddy
      @TheRudedaddy 3 роки тому +1

      Yeah you can't really remove that without removing the door panel first. I've seen the proper way in other you tube videos.
