She apparently did not want a singing career but Debbie would have loved that for her. Too bad because her voice was a gift. Eddie Fisher had a fab voice.
Man that woman has the most flexible intellect. That was a very odd exchange of an interview and she handled it like a champ ! To no surprise I might add
A sense of humor is often considered tragic in the greats. I get that. It’s also a life safer. If you possess one own it. Be humble. Share it gently. And understand you must analyze your pain and use your humor to dissapate it a bit
She must have been really young because she's wearing really big shoulder pads. Some of those 1980s fads are really cringey. But anyways Carrie was always so amazing :D
Hard to believe that a British show, back then, was so tacky as to make Carrie Fisher drink from a can. Also, British coke always tasted different anyway.
I'd love to know how this was made. Obviously scripted. Who wrote the script? How much is improvised? The "shallow" joke is a great joke and they played it with unaffected unknowingness. Same with "coke expert". Playing several meta levels above.
I think the point she was actually making was the friend was saying the guy the was otherwise perfect, so it was shallow to disregard him for something physical (if he was otherwise ideal), which is understandable, given that I think she often struggled with accepting her own appearance, and the media's opinion of how she looked.
She was pretty til she was in her early 40s. Then it bombed Something similar could very well happen to Chelsea Handler. Pretty hot 42 year old. The drugs, booze and everthing else is taking its toll. 10 years from now and the ones who live will see.
She can't help it. The bipolar drugs cause tremendous alteration in appearance. It is something you accept if you want your manic depression to remain under control. Carrie's illness was very severe. I love the way she has responded to public criticism and comments about her appearance. She is brilliant. A tremendous loss, tremendous.
I think she had plastic surgery done for some reason. She was fine the way she was, I will never understand why she altered her face in the last 3 years of her life. It didn't look good.
Lithium makes you fat. That's well known... I took lithium for seven years and yeah I gained weight, and I was also hungry all the time and food didn't really help much, and I was dead tired. I never really woke up in the morning (maybe with the help of a gallon of coffee) and after lunch I needed a nap. I fell asleep on lectures at the university, on my way home on the subway... Yeah how are you supposed to live if you're just hungry and tired all the time? But some people need it to be able to function, just as ECT, you always have to pay a price to get better... I hope I won't need it anymore.
To expectations that she look like a 19 y/o, she said it hurt all seven of her feelings. PS She also (later than this video) underwent regimens of ect which effect the jaw.
I've been binging on Carrie Fisher interviews. She's so witty and hilarious!😊
Me too.
Me 3
She's the most adorable woman ever. Love this.
Just watched this again tonight and this is how I remember her best.
Off the scale charisma. Possibly the coolest woman ever.
it's so adorable how she always covers her face when she is embarrassed
I've noticed this too about Carrie Fisher. So adorable!
Haven’t watched a single recommended Star Wars video on UA-cam in almost a week. I can’t stop watching these Carrie Fisher videos.
Unfiltered, witty, brilliant. Dangerous to try to outwit her. She’d have you in a bag. Wonderful laugh.
She's hilarious - I love this woman 😂
So beautiful and genuine. I love Ms. Fisher.
Carries -- R.I.P. -- is always herself and a master of evasive but entertaining replies. I cannot but adore these old "interviews".
R.I.P. Carrie Fisher 😢
Both great people now gone RIP
She was lovely.
She was so funny, talented and beautiful!
She had no idea how much this world would miss her.
So quick. Great host-fun banter.
She's simply awesome....(sorry I cannot say she was just yet) #PrincessCarrieFisher
5:45 We miss you Carrie always keeping it real
Carrie -> charming beautiful witty
What a Smart Woman
Hope they continue the interview in Heaven, hard to believe they are both no longer with us
What a combo!
9 minutes of perfection
“That was not a cigarette.” As stoner who LOVES Carrie, I laughed so hard at that!
She’s as real as real can be. Sadly missed.
7:14 "You're a coke-expert aren't you?" :o
She was one of the greatest!
She apparently did not want a singing career but Debbie would have loved that for her. Too bad because her voice was a gift. Eddie Fisher had a fab voice.
B Kavanaugh
She liked singing enough to want to do it on the holiday special...too bad that haunted her for the rest of her life.
Man that woman has the most flexible intellect.

Sainsburys should have had this on a loop in every store....
People keep saying she Was!! The Lady is Still with Us!!
I Love Carrie

“That was not a cigarette.” I’m watching this while smoking weed and that made me laugh my ass off!
I think she liked Clive. And he liked Carrie.
Have you seen the '91 interview? I think they had a very similar sense of humor - perhaps a mutual respect as writers
I've never seen this one.
Who disliked this?
She's so fucking witty! 😂🤣
I never knew she was a female version of Harrison Ford.
She’s actually a bit like Joan Rivers in her repertoire
What was it about her? She was smart and funny, sexy and had a great sense of humour but she had something extra
Smoking cigarettes is NOT a moral deficiency

Such an insightful comment with substance. Not as early as you think by the way.
@Adrian At And T I think you misunderstood my comment somehow.

It is not shallow to want sexual satifaction. Love you Carrey , but, no.
This would have had a much greater and significant affect had you known how to spell her name.
@@arconeagain petty.
@@valeriepaulsen5236 well it goes without saying I suppose. Out of respect, you at least get their name correct. Like how you got mine right.
@@arconeagain my bad. Carrie

Never knew appearance was affected although I think lithium can distort and bloat.

Oh snap.
I agree.
