Steve is the example of don't judge a book by it's cover. When he went to the show audition he was a punk rocker but the creators saw a genuine good soul. he did change his look but you can see how much he just cares.

i wasnt aware that being a punk rocker was mutually exclusive from being a genuine good soul. people who were and are in that scene are some of the most empathetic and principle driven people there are. aside from nazi punks the message of the punk scene is small or self government, social equality and a driving humanitarian nature along with a strong opposition to ecocide and the polluting of the earth.

      @steelenigma17 9 місяців тому +17

You're proving my point there. At no point did I say I feel people in the punk scene aren't good people. My point was there are people who would of taken a look at Steve and made the assumption that he was a bad person. Instead they did look past the look and saw the good person. That was clearly my point, they didn't judge a book by it's cover.

He was depressed about a lot of other issues, and after six years he was ready to move on, and they found a good replacement, and they were united both former hosts with a new host for the revival behind the scenes, it was a mess, but they actually made it look pretty legit. I don’t have a problem with Joe/Donovan Patton (grew up during his and Steve Burns’s eras of “Blue’s Clues”). Steve may have set the trajectory, but Joe put just as much weight during his time as the show’s host. The latter may not be everyone’s cup of tea (and that’s fine).
In case you’re wondering, I liked both Steve and Joe/Donovan equally. Never felt the “need” to “pick a side.” Makes it easier for me to appreciate what Josh Dela Cruz brings to the table as the current host (despite not growing up with him like today’s kids).

For me personally, seeing that the rumors weren’t true and he just grew up and moved on to another life path was incredibly reassuring. He showed you can always follow your dreams, you can do what makes you happy even if others don’t understand you but to be appreciative of where you came from too. My heart melted when he went on to explain to children “I’m alive, I’m okay” when everyone was first worried many years ago. He truly cares about his audience and wanted to come back so everyone knew “it’s okay to grow up and move on, I did and I still love all of you!” Him and Mr Rogers will ALWAYS have a place in my heart.

Josh is a perfect fit for the role and it’s great to see Steve back with the show. Honestly, most cases of those actors who hate their og shows arent hating on them bc they don't like kids, but bc of the abusive environment many producers and directors forced upon them. Or even a fandom that is now made of adults that refuses to understand that a fictional character is not their actor irl. A lot of those actors will always say that they loved their job but hated working on it, and that's mostly the reason why it happens. The resentment comes from very poor work ethics and there's a lot of unpaid work inside the industry, as well as bad cases of abuse, s^xual harassment, grooming, unchecked mental issues, drug use enforsed by producers, and even more.

Steve burns is still often on the new blue's clues and it just fills my heart with such happiness! He's such a genuine guy! I'm 30. I watched blue's clues and had 3 blue's clues parties. Lol I watched it way longer than I was supposed to! Then when he came back, I was a mother myself! And it was like I was passing the torch. Proud mommy moment.

I was born in 1999, so Blues Clues is one of the very first shows I remember watching as a kid. As I grew older, I never had heard any of these insane (and just plain disrespectful) rumors about Steve's post-TV life. When he re-surfaced in 2017, the same year I graduated high school, it was the first I had heard ANYTHING about him since I was a toddler.
Watching this video and discovering all these crazy theories about what may have happened to him is really weird. I'm so glad he went on to pursue his musical passions, but it's so strange that people would invent or believe that he was either dead or a druggie. Maybe I just don't remember the internet of the mid-2000s/2010s all that well after all...

It makes my heart warm knowing he did that one on one on the video for Nick Jr.. That video brought me back to the countless times i watched and rewatched the show. The sincerity of both himself and the acting of Steve shows how capable he is as an actor, and entertainer. We missed you Steve. ❤

I have a story about Blue's Clues. When I was 25, I was watching my 4 year old niece. She was going through separation anxiety. Her mom and grandma had me watching her. They tried to leave without her noticing. Well, that didn't go too well. She cried for 20 minutes straight.
I couldn't get her to stop for anything. I tried toys, rocking her, everything...
Then I turned on Blue's Clues. Steve and the crew made her stop crying. I remember her sniffles stopping instantly.
She's 26 now... And gets kind of embarrassed when I tell some of these stories but it's rare when I tell them. She taught me a lot about being that auntie and how much I love her.

I never heard any rumors about him. Maybe that he was fighting cancer? But I'm not even sure of that. Steve was always a kind and upbeat person in my mind, and I'm truly happy for him that he stayed as strong as he did over the years and it still helping and encouraging others. I was actually far too old for his show when it first released, but it was so sweet, charming, unique, and Steve was so patient and endearing, I would watch every ep I could at least once. It was and always will be beautiful content. 💚

I gotta hand it to the guy for being totally honest about the mental toll that acting took on him, but also handling all the rumors about him with tact. Also, props to him for going out to colleges and talking to students about taking control of their mental health. Sometimes getting help is the hardest thing, but it can also have the biggest positive impact too!

This made me so happy and my nostalgia has me teary-eyed. And I'm not ashamed to say that NO ONE is cutting onions near me. I'm crying my butt off because of the happy/sad mood this whole thing just gave me. 😅😢
My "conspiracy" thought was that he was in jail for being the ..... bad type of adult to kids. Didn't necessarily believe it the entire time , just for whatever reason. But when it first happened , that's what rumor was going around our school. I knew it wasn't true. ❤

that's awesome. he's an incredibly strong person for that. i loved watching the show as a kid and i remember when he left, i was sad. i heard he joined a band some years later and didn't hear much after that. on occasion i'd hear some rumors, but in my heart, i knew they weren't true. the best host of Blue's Clues was this and that or dead and i thought, "i haven't seen him in so long, but last i heard he joined a band and i hope things went well for him after that." i didn't know he went through so much, but then again, how could i? i'm glad he got through everything that he did. he truly is a huge part of my childhood, and will always be the best host ever, 100%.
