  • Today we're going to talk about something that one of you requested, and that is how to prevent self-sabotage. It's actually a really good topic, because it's something that I think people underestimate. We don't realize we get caught up in talking a lot of times about what people have done to us or healing what has happened in our lives. We don't as often talk about our own self abuses. And there's all kinds, I mean, we could talk about self abuse, meaning you know how was it how was it ever a good idea to date some of the people we've dated. Think about it, who you've dated and how some of them were not a good idea.
    Then that is self sabotage.

Great stuff. I gave someone a little 'shove' once and he took off, and I was better for it. Our arguments often ended up with him packing, saying he's leaving, and me unpacking his stuff, begging him to stay, saying how things would change... I was young... afraid to be alone... but I knew it was an abusive relationship, so one day I got brave and when he started the usual routine of packing & saying he was leaving, I sat there & didn't unpack him. Instead I said, "Let me know if you need a ride to the airport." The next day I drove him to a train station, which led to the airport. One lesson I learned from that was how much power I had. One change in habit; one moment of bravery; and we both took off on opposite trajectories. And it was good for ME to be the one who did it. I never said "he left me"; I've always phrased it as, "I let him go".

I am currently undergoing self-sabotage. I am so angry at myself as I consider all that I allowed to happen in the past even if I was a young adolescent. I am so angry at the persons that I let affect life and the persons that I ignored who might have warned me about the status of life so many years ago. I cannot deny that maybe I was given warnings by outside people, some family, friends or strangers and in each instance because of selfishness, fear and a willingness not to step into the unknown or outside of my comfort zone i adopted a malignant pattern of life thinking my outcome might be different because I thought I was different and not realizing I was practicing a pattern of bad behavior where I submitted and now was going to try to make others submit. I am so fearful of being the co-dependent in one instance and the narcissist in another, and the fact that even today I cannot resist impulsive need to reenact patterns that are causing others pain and disdain in a same way that it was afflicted upon me. There is no way that I am going to be able to watch enough videos in the next 24 hours to release the present pain. I must learn to sit with it . Our worlds don't stop time for each individual that is suffering so that they can heal and then jump back in the game of life, the time keeps on flowing and so far it's been about 24 hours of this episode of pain and anger and impressing it upon myself till it creates a depression rather than acknowledging, accepting, and releasing - learn, change, grow. - Thanks for this very personal account of dealing with different facets and scenarios of self-sabotage.

Hi Oliver! So sorry to hear of the intense struggles. But please remember that nobody should tell you to "get over these things" nor that there is anything wrong with feeling hurt or hate about it. The first step to healing is actually to own that we feel the way we feel. So go for it--without harming yourself or others. The second thing is to try to recognize that although people may have done hurtful, selfish things, these people and the effects of those events do not need to have power over you. So as you heal--through counseling and prayer and so forth--the hurt you feel will fade. But to add some good allies and support in your healing, be sure to create a close relationship with God. That way you are feeling emotionally supported--which you deserve. ~MM

I just discovered your videos. I've followed many spiritual teachers on UA-cam and your profound insights ring true like theirs do but your heartfelt honesty and painstaking way you convey the truth sets you apart from any male teacher I have listened to. (including Eckhart Tolle) I especially resonate with the clarity of your explanation of male and female energy. This is why I was so taken aback when I heard you characterize the gossiping nature of the ego as "evil." As a follower of A Course In Miracles as I also am, you are well aware that only love is real and our ego is our conditioned response to our perception of a fear-based world, which precludes most people from ever discovering heaven on earth. As such, negative judgments like "evil" aren't real either. These concepts are merely indicative of someone who is stuck in self deception rather than steeped in evil. Please clarify this seemingly glaring contradiction to your otherwise inspiring instruction. (I suspect your ego just temporarily resurfaced since dying to our false self is normally a lifelong undertaking as long as our spirit is still attached to our flesh). But please correct me if you were so strident about your characterization of evil for some other reason. Thank you.

    • @MichaelMirdadTeacher
      @MichaelMirdadTeacher  4 роки тому +4

Hi Cindy! Yours is a question and mistake that many Course students make. The Course (and my comments in this video) teach on two levels. There is the absolute level of God wherein there is no evil, no bodies, no separation, and no world. But then there is the level that temporarily accepts the various illusions of this world as things we have to deal with. It's all about "knowing the Truth of God but temporarily dealing with the seeming realities of this world. So we are asked to focus on our return Home and yet do our best to eat when we are hungry, work on our addictions, show up to work on time, and say no to hurtful behaviors--including gossip or abuse in any form. ~MM

I recently ended a self-sabotage lesson that I allowed for almost 4 months - even seeing the red flags very clearly.
I wasn’t searching for anyone, but I know that God sent him to me for my own well-being and soul’s growth.
I learned the lesson and now I truly feel ready to receive what I truly deserve in God’s perfect timing. 😇🙏💝
I forgave “him” from afar because I realize my part in the lesson, but now I know better.
    Thanks Michael! 😇🌹

Your connection to spirituality and the ability to explain it from the pov of what regular people who still let the ego run everything in their life means so much. I especially like the connections to Judas because reflecting I can see others actions or lack but also, myself. Best take away… I want healing more than I want the chaos/fear. Strange enough, before i stumbled accidentally on one of your videos which is soul contracts, i was considering planning a trip to Sedona, simply coz a friend recommended it to be the most beautiful place to visit in the whole US. What i heard from you so far is now affirming my intentions about seriously planning this trip in accordance with the timings of one of your workshops.

It has to be the most insidious form of self-harm as it ruins your happiness while it numbs your pain with addiction. It might be too late for my relationship, but at least I have learned not to do that to myself anymore. It utterly destroyed our happiness together. 💔Thank you for this wisdom.

It is me and my cat now, no man to blame for my troubles.....even been fired from my job for making special allowances for a person I supported. Yes. Although nobody knows all the facts about his case, I personally saw a lot of things at his center that would not be my choice. It definitely IS a self esteem issue like we're lacking something such as self worth, or love that we look in all the wrong places & when we don't get those needs met, we hurt ourselves & ruin our relationships with other's when we project that pain onto ourselves & others. It's a lack of fulfillment issue that we can only get from God! Sometimes our identity gets lost in others.
Spending time alone getting to know God & your *true* self will reveal what you need & how to get that fulfillment on your own. Then, you'll be able to attract what you truly want & deserve & will no longer settle for less. 💜
We play the biggest role in the prolonging of our suffering! We need to be careful with the information we allow to influence us! Negative ppl will sabotage good things of God cuz religion says STAY AWAY from self healing cuz Jesus is the only healer we need! Um... we still need to help ourselves! We still need doctors & intervention. It's wrong to project their own misunderstanding onto others by completely disregarding the benefits of a someone's personal experience! I wish positivity would spread as quickly as negativity spreads like wild 🔥 but, it's inevitable cuz ppl thrive on gossip & slander! 💯
Discerning what is healthy & what isn't & acting on it makes all the difference.. 😇

Also, for those who feel every change in energy, confirmation to push those who are not for us, push them out ahead of the curve from our path. I generally don't speak of others teachers and authors. But let me please share this: Yes, he did some hurtful things but not all stories were true. Many ended up apologizing for getting on the bandwagon. But the point is that if even 10% of them were true, it's a clear sign that ego, as well as many dark energies have entered the picture. It's very sad but again, it's so hard for all of us teachers, healers, etc. to keep walking the narrow path of light in a world of such darkness. I took a group to Brazil just weeks before the story broke. Most of our group witnessed some pretty extraordinary things but still, I could feel something was "off" and swore to never return. Then everything fell apart for him, which left hundreds of thousands of people feeling confused, faithless, and even jobless. Again, it's very sad. But a great reminder. My work involves reaching into the soul to track down all causes or patterns behind issues, illnesses, etc. This often results in shifts, miracles, healing. But I do not do in person sessions and have not for years. ~MM
