This is a really good video! I just got my first job at a movie theater (at a mall); so our box-offices, concession stands, and theater auditoriums are all in one giant building 😄
Perfectly captured the fish tank boredom of the box office. I worked at the movies 10 years ago and at my AMC, we had one manager who made us turn in our phones before going to work box. I remember I'd work Tuesday AM solo in box and it was torture. We weren't even on the same floor as the theatre, so it's not like ushers or ANYBODY would come by to keep you company like they would at guest services and concession.
Worked at Regal from 2005-2010 and man I wish I had had a smart phone, let alone free food other than popcorn. This brought back some memories though. Thanks.
This was great. Authentic and real. I feel your pain. I work in a place where I deal with the public too so I understand how it can get. Anyway, good job, dude. 😊
usually supervisors stay until the last movie gets out and normal ppl leave earlier. I live in the Chicago area and I work in a smaller locally owned theater chain. Managers also stay until after everyone leaves. Getting out at 12:30 is pretty rare tho and it's only if you take forever with closing duties@Naphtali Exiled
I work at Regal too, but clearly things have changed since you've worked there. I can relate to everything in this video, apart from the free food. Now they charge us, but the manager has to ring up every single individual food item and it takes forever lmaoooo. Like if you see a movie with your family, for example, the manager rings up the popcorn. Then one drink. Then the next. One. By. One. And I'm never in box, I'm ALWAYS on door. Being on door until 1 AM SUUUUUCKS.
I work at regal and this is so accurate long hours, claustrophobic, atmosphere in the box office, only wanting your break, liking it at first then wanting to quit. But my theater doesn’t give us free food, we have to pay it with a discounted price, though the food is sooo fucking gross I’d rather eat from the garbage
Brandon Reyes I applied for Regal a couple years ago, but never had the chance to go for an interview. They eventually, however, managed to keep my application, mostly because I see some of the people I know who work every time I see a movie at my local Regal theater as a frequent customer. I have since ended up working in retail for a couple months now. But yeah working at Regal was probably my dream job too.
Hey Noah, i really enjoyed the video. great reference to Fight Club. I used to work for Regal theaters in New York. New Rochelle location and the Yonkers location which is closed. I was a pojectionist for 35mm and IMAX back when everything was film. Your video brought back so many memories of working for them. Thanks for posting.
Hey Yves, really appreciate your kind words. I'm glad this video I made in high school brought back so many memories for you. I too miss working at a movie theater and I can't imagine what it was like when everything was still film. It must have been a lot of fun to have run the projections and feel like you were part of the movie. I feel like that's what working at the movie theater was about, just feeling like you helped in the moviegoing experience. Thanks so much :)
I actually work at a theatre myself and it sucks. You really don’t get paid enough for what you do, the hours are long, you have to work on holidays, and it just sucks.
Oh my god. First of all, love that Regal donates. I work at a Harkins and we have no options to donate to charities. Second, the fact you get free food on your break is amazing. All we get is free popcorn in small bags and free drinks. Like this really makes me realize how greedy Harkins is and how shitty they are to their employees. :/
Working at movie theater is less pay but you get to see your free movies get discount on foods I was thinking about working at one but then decided not to because they will have weird hours and you have to be really fast and good about working in one.
I thought about working at theater but 1. I didn’t want to hate theater 2 amc a list is only $20 a month. For 3 movies a week which is plenty 3. Spoilers/ rude people
I hate to tell you this, But every job you ever have, Including your dream job, Will turn in to the same mundane daily chore. Its called the human condition.
I don't know how I came across this but I loved it
Yo wtf I literally live 2 minutes from this theater and am looking to apply at this exact one
This is in Gainesville
I made this video a year ago, before I moved to NYC for college. It was an interesting summer job. Definitely recommend!
This is a really good video! I just got my first job at a movie theater (at a mall); so our box-offices, concession stands, and theater auditoriums are all in one giant building 😄
Very much got a Fight Club vibe from this, haha
it's one of my favorite movies!
This was such an awesome video! I can definitely relate because I work at Regal Stadium 16 and I do Box Office.

The 3 courtesy cups are my life.
This was great. Authentic and real. I feel your pain. I work in a place where I deal with the public too so I understand how it can get. Anyway, good job, dude. 😊
This actually inspired me to apply to a bunch of movie theaters lmao
Flashback to being a ticket tearer at Regal. I did my time from 2012 - 2014
I was actually thinking about working at a movie theater, whats the pay like there? And how many hours do u do??
Mr SwaggerPack not enough, too many
I work at a theatre and the earliest I've clocked in was 8:30 am and latest was 12:30 at night@Naphtali Exiled

I know the feeling, but it could be worse. You could be an usher like me.

Thanks for uploading. I really wanted to know the ugly sides of what this job requires and I found your video. Keep it up!
Good short story telling
This was better than most films
Can you work at 1 position only or do you have to get moved around and work everywhere?
i felt like i was watching a movie..
I’m a high school student about to start a summer job at my local Regal cinema. Looking forward to it.
I'm a uni student looking forward to working at my local cineworld aswell.

“Now I have sleep issues” lmao welcome to my world I’ve always had ghat

I actually work at a theatre myself and it sucks. You really don’t get paid enough for what you do, the hours are long, you have to work on holidays, and it just sucks.

I know the feeling, dude. Working at Regal has its pros and cons.
It's been awhile since I saw paper tickets
Based on this, Premiere Cinemas is a much better place to work. Not hating or showing off. Just giving more insight and comparisons.
What song plays when he is showing his food?????

Working at movie theater is less pay but you get to see your free movies get discount on foods I was thinking about working at one but then decided not to because they will have weird hours and you have to be really fast and good about working in one.
