Just imagine one day you worked at a theater in the future you will be at the the theater again but this time you will be watching the premier of your new blockbuster movie you just directed and written yourself. Hey keep up the great videos man they are always top notch 👍🎬👍🎞️👍🎥👍👍👍👍👍
Right haha. Oh nice I think it would be a good way to study performances, yeah it definitely is such a sweet perk. I ended up watching a lot of movies I normally wouldn’t have and I was surprised I ended up liking so many
I work in a cinema I generally work myself on a shift and they are 5-6 hours long and I find it boring, because the cinema I work at it not very busy. Some nights only 2 people come in and I spend most of my time standing doin very little
Hey Joel thanks for watching man! You know I was actually thinking about that recently how since COVID it’s probably a lot different of an experience. When I was working it was before all of that and we had huge movies coming out like Avengers and Star Wars. It would get way too busy sometimes, making the slower summer days a nice change
I'm watching this to get a brief view of what its like working in a cinema because a new bowling alley and cinema is coming to my hometown and i wondered what to expect , if i would like to try working at the bowling alley / cinema in the future , if it's worth changing jobs in a few months / couple of years or so from now. I recently just changed jobs from being a domestic in a gym and was a carer before that for about 6 year's , now i currently changed jobs to work in a local sweet / biscuit factory.
Honestly it’s not a very difficult job. It has good benefits (fun wise not health haha) and if they pay well that all adds up to a solid job if you decide you’re not satisfied at your current one
@@thejacobbunn Thank you for the advice Jacob. When the new cineworld open in 2022 (hopefully January) , I might consider applying to work there. I don't mind where i work right now in that factory and really like working with the staff there , i also like it because it's local and i get weekends ,Christmas and new year off. However i don't see me staying there for the rest of my working career messing with biscuits and sweets and just packing them up. I like to do different work / jobs with my career. Like when i worked at my local gym before going to the factory, i was a full time cleaner at the gym and knew i had no intentions of staying as a cleaner for the rest of my life scrubbing toilets e.t.c. , same with when i was a carer. I love caring for other people , but sometimes you need a change of career. I am ok at factory full time for know though. When working at cinema what is your job role(s) and would a person with a bit of dyslexia struggle with the work or do you think they could manage?
That’s awesome I definitely think you should give it a shot! I also like trying out other career options to see what I really like. It depends on the specific theater what you have to do, my theater required me to do: concessions, sell tickets, clean theaters, clean the concessions area, and change the posters, etc. I don’t think it would be overly hard with dyslexia especially if you made it clear to them when hired. That way they can have you focus on what works best for you! Good luck and if you ever have any other questions feel free to reach out here or on Instagram. (@thejacobbunn)
@@thejacobbunn that scene where you put a video on a paper. then below the paper there are many moving movie tickets. seriously cool..and how long does it take for you to create this work of art ?
Oh yeah for sure, that was a pretty fun one and I’ll definitely do a video about that effect sometime! In general I was doing stop motion and then overlayed another stop motion of the paper with a mask for the video, I’ll definitely go more in depth in the future. This video took me about a week and a half to plan, shoot, and edit but it’s also an idea I’ve been sitting on for a while!
@@thejacobbunn you really good at what you're doing bro. pretty sure your channel will be big ! definitely waiting for your next video explaining how you use that effect.
I just got a job at a movie theatre today! 🥳 I know this is an old video, but in case you see my comment: what were your typical hours like? Thanks for this btw, it was super informative.
Hey that’s awesome! I really loved my job there. It was about 6 to 8 hour shifts usually closer to 6 though. It would be for example an opening shift from 11am to 5pm or a closing from 5:30pm until closing at 12! Definitely let me know how you end up liking it 😊
Hey Felix thanks for watching! Yeah so the theater I used to work at is open on weekends right now, it isn’t as busy and there aren’t that many big releases right now but over the next few months and especially years it will be more than doable!
Ok so I'm 16 and I wanna get my first job . There's a movie theater that is literally a 20 minute bike ride from my house. I just don't know what types of jobs are at movie theaters
Hey thanks for watching, I really think it’s a great first job! The most common is a concessions worker, this includes: prepping snacks, selling tickets, and cleaning around the theater. There are also janitor positions which usually work really early or really late and just clean the entire theater. I’d definitely recommend being a concessions worker it was really fun overall and I’m sure theaters won’t be crazy busy for quite a while!
@@thejacobbunn I applied for the job last Thursday and I went into the movie theater today to follow up, they said since I applied online they can't do anything in person but the manager said he'd led the guy who handles online stuff know about me. Hopefully I'll get a call soon
Hey that’s the way to do it, checking back in and showing you’re serious about wanting the position! It’s actually funny I did a similar thing when I first applied and I think it helped me stand out from others. Also if it doesn’t work out this time always consider reapplying down the road to show continued interest! Best of luck
I definitely think you should apply! It’s a good way to make some money plus has a ton of fun perks to the job. Hopefully you apply at a theater with nice bosses that teach you the ropes rather than getting mad! Thanks for taking the time to watch my video
