Hello Andrea Jean ,just found you, and thank you! About the oven racks , my mom taught me to spray oven cleaner on the racks ,put them in a green garbage bag ,seal them up and put outside over night, The next day get you hose ,or in the bath tub rinse them off and vala they are like brand new and shiny. Cuddles 😊M
I love a clean home... have a small tip when you shampoo your upholstery be sure to go back over it with clean water. The soap residue attracts dirt. Happy cleaning. Love the cleaning hacks.
Put racks in black trash bag, put in direct sunlight and pour in ammonia cinch close leave a couple hours. No scrubbing and rinse with hose. Works even if racks are horrible
This is the best. We got a used grill, and it was caked with hard, broiled-on grease--thick! I put it in a black trash bag in the sun with about 1/4 cup of ammonia. I opened the bag a few hours later *pointed away* from my face... poured it out on the ground (ammonia is natural) and then rinsed both the ground and the grill racks with the garden hose... and all that hard grease had dissolved and become very soft like pudding! I wiped the racks off easily and they looked brand new! Ammonia really cuts grease! But be careful, the fumes are very potent.
Man, this is SO refreshing to watch. My brain is exhausted by all these tiktok hacks people be telling me about that have simple solutions. Your solutions are so practical, simple, and just plain work. Sometimes I feel like we have too much information and then make up random stuff as a result (laundry stripping being a great example of this). Thank you so much for making this video!!!
I love the Dawn powerwash, I use that all the time. I also love Tide, I have always used Tide on my laundry and the Tide clean boost is amazing too! Just started using the Tide clean boost, and I love that to. Thank you for all your amazing cleaning tips! ❤😊
I recall seeing something about Dawn power washes really just regular Dawn with something else added? Isn't there a hack to make your own Dawn power wash? Please correct me if I'm wrong
I still like my Tineco vacuum, I find it satisfying to clean it after each use. I use the Baseus car vac for portable cleaning. The great part is it will vacuum from one end and blow air from the other. Fixes all my cleaning situations in the house.. I always enjoy your cleaning videos. Clean Freaks Unite🥰
My grandma taught us kids a lesson when it came to those walls. She would have us scrub the walls every Spring and I can tell you it worked. We thought twice before touching the walls again
How funny, I complained about the walls being touched, I raised four boys and for some reason boys must touch the walls . Put their feet on walls, with or without shoes. Lean up against the walls, lean a chair back on the walls. You name it my walls were a constant mess. When they all moved out and my house could be clean I repainted the entire thing. I replaced the floors all the switches and plates. I had four rooms that stayed spotless clean, and three bathroom that were hardly ever used. I didn’t realize how much traffic kids brings into a house. I loved coming home to a clean home. It didn’t last long though, I adopted two Yes “2 “doberman puppies. What was I thinking ? Oh my gosh my world was turned upside down. I quit my job and potty trained, thank goodness it didn’t take long. I swear two dog have the laundry of four boys, They’re both two years old now and not tracking in as much crud so I repainted the house and put down new floors. I pray I can keep it clean😂! True story I can’t make this up.
1) I always used Tide with Bleach Alternative as my carpet cleaning detergent. I haven’t found it in a while..oxiclean is now in it, but hard to find without other stuff added. Must make sure it’s all dissolved with hot water. 2) I make homemade soap additive and still use detergent & softener-don’t need very much anymore. Have a front loader. I use 1. Zote soap-grated-2 bars 2. 4 cups Borax powder 3. 4 cups Washing Soda 4. 2 cups Powdered Citric Acid. I run it all in my Ninja so it’s mixed well. Keep it in a tight sealing container. I use a coffee scoop. A full load of towels-1 scoop. Most everything else I use 1/2 scoop or less depending on the size of the load. If using cold water-it will all dissolve, but you must use the extra rinse. I’ve used this for about 10 years. It took out deodorant stains on white tops. I drive a school bus-and sweat a lot!! I noticed the smell from sweat that didn’t come out with regular washing. After I began using this mixture, I noticed I no longer have any smells at all. I do love the scent of Zote. You can always add an essential oil in the washer if you’d like. I do put this in the washer with the clothes (because it’s powder) it’s also great washing black things because the citric acid keeps minerals in the water from sticking to clothes. I use softener so your clothes will become softer. Dryer sheets have fiberglass in them-so I don’t use them. Good luck❤!!
Due to its acidity, vinegar can corrode the rubber parts, like seals and hoses, making them soft and causing them to leak from cracks, in your dishwasher and/or washing machine.
Thank you for this GREAT info. I've owned my own business for 35+ years and I'm shocked at how many people use cleaners that should NEVER be used on the finish they are working with. Knowing how to clean correctly is an education.
Here’s a tip for you when deep cleaning window and slider tracks. Most window with tracks as well as sliding doors…the sliding portion removes from the frame…lift it up and carefully pull it completely out and over the frame. When you have sliding portion removed…take a 5 in 1 tool or anything flat bladed and fit it into the groove on the side of the track and lift up…that whole track/guide can be lifted out. Be prepared for the accumulated dirt/grime/pine needles/pests under there. If you don’t do this it can eventually clog your windows weep holes keeping moisture locked underneath that track. Make sure when you replace the track that you insert one full side at an angle first then drop the other side and press down till it clicks…it will click into place the whole length of the guide as you move down its length. I use my 5 in 1 tool coveres in a thick cloth to press down on it and not leave tool marks. Replace the sliding portion of window/door by inserting the top first and while still lifting up move the bottom into place and set it down on the track. *if you have vinyl windows there are stop tabs insered into the top portion of the frame that must be slid down or popped out before removing the window/door or the unit will not come out. Be sure to replace these after you reinstall the window/door. I pull my windows and sliders and lift those tracks 1-2 x’s per year. Nasty but, ever so satisfying. 😉❤
Hi Andrea, watching this video gave me the incentive to start my spring cleaning. Started with my oven using the recipes you recommended and they worked great! Cleaned toaster, looks new! Cleaned inside cabinets and outside! Cleaned refrigerator inside and out! And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Love your videos, keep up the good work! 😎
I just use white vinegar instead of fabric softener on laundry. Hot water, a little detergent and white vinegar gets rid of any funk. Much cheaper too. Nobody has noticed any vinegar smell on clothes.
My fridge cleaning hack: I use a window squeezie (exactly like those at the gas pumps for your car windows - [Autozone, Walmart or any Auro Parts store sells them])... I find that a once over with the sponge side either with a little bit of vinegar/water or for really bad goobers,a tiny bit of dawn is great. Once all "washed" with my sponge side, flip it over and use the actual rubber squeezie to dry ' Viola! Done 🙃 super fast ...AND great for this family of six!
Oh, and I love Orange Slices...mixed with Sour Cherry candies...generally sold on the same rack and I get them 2 for a dollar n change! Thanks for knowledge sharing- your great 🦸🏽♀️
I bought a tineco wet/dry floor vacuum...after a year...I too realized it was more time invested in cleaning the cleaning tool than in cleaning my floors! New subscriber here. Thank you for going back to the basics! BTW, I got rid of the tineco.
I don't purchase expensive pillows. The ones I like are called Down Alternative, about $20 on sale. I wash them at least every 6 months, sometimes more often.i wash them with a laundry sheet and a bit of ammonia. Then I dry them with wool dryer balls. They come out perfect! About a year and a half ago I switched to laundry sheets and roll dryer balls. No. T only do I save money.I am saving the environment by reducing platic. And no more spilling liquid detergent or dry powder or even needing to measure them!
Thank you for your advice on the Tineco vacuum. I left it in my Amazon cart to research a little more and really think about it because it is expensive. I'm sure we all hate to buy something so expensive then after a few months it doesn't work as well. You aren't the person that mentioned that after a few months, they were not happy with it.
Loved the washing willows. I just moved and had a box of bed pillows in storage. Had no idea how to clean them. Thanks for your tips. I love Snickers , Reeses peanut butter cups, and of course Kit Kat!
I just today used my Tide Laundry Boost! I love the smell, but husband not so much. I wash our clothes separately and I do use this on my towels and sheets. I love how clean everything smells!! My favorite chocolate bar is a Baby Ruth!
I’ve always just used a toothpick in all those little crevices like on handles or on my stove. Even in my bathroom, either toothpicks or butter knife and maybe a thin cloth or paper towel.
I like to use a good headlamp, with LEDs powered by three rechargeable batteries - it's surprisingly helpful even in daylight - and gloves whenever working with household chemicals.
Everything you present in your videos are always so helpful! Thank you for everything you do Andrea Jean! You are just so helpful and so wonderful. I never miss a video of yours.❤😊
I agree about the Teneco. It does a very nice job of cleaning my hardwood floors. However, if you don’t clean it and let it dry before putting it away, it smells terrible.
I've found that the quickest way to clean oven racks is to soak put them in the sink with very hot water and clothes washing 'powder' soak for 10 mins then reverse the rack and whilst the other end is soaking you can quickly rub off any marks with a stainless steel scourer. By the time you have done that its time to flip again and rub down the other end. Whole process takes less than 30 mins and during the first 10 min soak you can of course do other things so it's really only 20 mins actively cleaning the racks.
L A awesome (make it extra strong- dollar tree) or pink stuff paste work amazing on racks and if it nice outside I do it in the yard- and use the hose to rinse and do the grill racks at the same time
Andrea Jean, in your fitness videos, do you have anything for older (I'm 77 and a little sedentary) women? Something like this chair yoga I keep hearing about?
Heads up , Oxy clean and baking soda will cause problems in any of your shampooers . They break down and clog the little tubes in the machines . Really any powders will mess up the machines . If your ok with replacing your machines every year or so , go for it . Kust wanted to give ya'll a heads up . Happy cleaning
I also love using Walmarts white vinagar on n gallon and I take a spray bottle mix dawn or my new fave is ajax grapefruit dish soap it smells amazing mixed with vinagar and water for a multipupose spray it shines my sinks and counter tops and tub
Have you ever washed/dried memory foam pillows? I'm afraid to since I've yet to see anyone else do so, and they're so darn expensive to replace. Thanks. Love all your tips today.
Just a cup of baking soda in washer will neutralize odors. Put half cup white vinegar in softener draw will help remover any residue and soften fabric. Zep has a bathroom cleaner that works great to clean safety strips in tub. I own a rental and used it there and sprayed in on, let sit a minute, rinsed, residue was gone. Spray a little WD40 on microfiber clothe to clean stainless steel.
Oh yes! Thank u for that recommendation. I got the Downy light scent. Wonderful !! It made a big dish. And my washing machine smells better!😊 Snickers with Almonds.
The best tip was the oven racks. I’m going to do that this weekend. Wonder if it would also work on super gnarly grill grates and those triangle pieces that cover the grill burners? I guess I’ll have to try that when it gets warmer. (Ain’t no warm going on in MI, either! 🥶❄️😢) My fave candy bar is snickers. That said, I wouldn’t turn down any candy bar … 😂 … and when I eat a Kit Kat I always delaminate them vs cru Ching through all the layers. Weird, I know. 🤨😉
Oh wow, I’ve been looking at the green machine the little green machine whichever it’s called. I need something like that. I want to clean my recliner. Can you help me out?
I hate cleaning windows and gonna try my swifter. I need to clean my couch now after seeing yours in just a few months. I have kitty cats long hair need I say more lol. I am constantly running the vacuum and removing hair from the furniture. Can't say I have just one favorite candy bar, too many good choices. Have a wonderful week.
I agree with you 100% on the mop/vacs! I have the Bissell and it is a pain to clean! Also, how much oxy do you use in the little vac cleaner? And those shoes are so cute, are they comfortable because I need shoes for church and other functions. Thank you.
Andrea Jean, A while back you did a video on cleaning water stains from a toilet. I can’t remember the product you used. Where can I find that video?? Thank you so much!
In just this one video, I got so many ideas. Have you ever used Invisible Shield on your glass. I love it and have even taken it to Peru. Doesn’t build up
I take my oven racks outside on my patio I spray them on a plastic tarp in the summer I leave them out there for several hours I scrub them then rinse them off with the hose and if I keep on top of my oven it doesn't get that dirty
Why don’t you use pillow protectors on your pillows…goes OVER the whole pillow and THEN the pillowcase! You’ll preserve the pillows and protect them by using them. I would never put a pillowcase on mine without a protector….Just sayin’! Sorry about allllll the snow you’re getting in Minnesota today.
I don’t understand why people don’t use pillow protectors/ticking. They help keep the pillows clean. Of course, I launder pillows, but not as often if I didn’t use that extra cover.
You can wash down pillows, just follow the directions. Do a double spin cycle and put in dryer balls, you have to make sure they are totally dry. I grew up with them, and as an adult I’ve had them and they always come out perfect
I tuned in first time may 14,2024 I love your explanation of things - your videos make so much sense! My fav chocolate bar (I rarely eat bars) is Kit Kat I like the pillow trick and towels
With my daughter & myself having long hair, my son, lots of hair, my husband, shedding 😉, I hated how clogged my vacuum brush got. I have a thing about putting up a dirty vac. Why do I wanna store dirt in my house? The auto brush clean doesn't work well for me. I finally just got my broom and in bedroom, bathroom did a quick, REALLY quick go over any carpet or rugs. I was amazed at how much hair I could pick up just back and forth with the broom, not really sweeping, just going in several back and forth directions. I also every month clean the brush of my canister vac. Lint gets way down in the bristles and after a bit, the bristles don't, they are more like sticks and aren't working well. I'm far to lazy to work harder!
The thing i found most helpful was the dry dusting vs wet dusting. For example the blinds. I tried the wet first & they hat too must dirt & dust it was a huge job. I realize now if i had just dry dusted them first, the job would have been a lot easier. Thanks for the tip! I still cannot believe that you white jeans stayed so white while you were cleaning all day!!! 😂
I heard that after you clean your blinds, spray them with Static Guard and the dust will not stick to them as much so you can go longer periods with cleaning them.😮
❤ Good day Andrea Jean, always love your great tips! Can I tell you that I am in love with your sweater top, love the color, love the design! Where did you find it?
I love using my bissell little green machine for smaller areas and I have a large cleaner as well. These are just the ones I have. Bissell has some larger cleaners that are different models as well that will show up through the link below. Hope this helps! ❤️ Bissell Little Green Multi-purpose Cleaner #1 Best Seller: urlgeni.us/amzn/ETv6x Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus: urlgeni.us/amzn/OHjhL
What ratio of oxi clean to water do you mix up for your little green machine? I thought you had to use specific BISSELL solutions. Nice videos. You’ve really improved since the last ones I saw yrs ago.
Thanks for the pillow cleaning tips! I bet they smell so fresh and clean afterwards!! Candy bars- I love an old fashioned Payday! Caramel and peanuts! Yum!! Also Mounds! Yum, again!! ❤🍫
Ammonia is great for grease. It's a gas (dissolved in water) which, like other alkalis, changes fats to soaps - only, unlike other alkalis, whatever isn't used dissipates as gas. There's no alkali residue.
Favorite candy: Snickers and M&M's I loved the oven rack hack. However, I'll still have to use the bathtub...apartment living. Sinks are too small. Do you have a video on an efficient way to clean the inside of the oven. I made a mess a couple of years ago, trying the baking soda paste hack for cleaning the oven.
I used to hate mopping, rinsing the mop head and squeezing the water out over and over. ,that's the only way I could see doing it, bc when you have a bucket of water, it gets nasty fast and then you're just mopping with dirty water. I love the tineco,it's easy to clean, especially when you compare it with how hard everything was before. My arthritic hands and back thank me every time I mop now.

I used the spin mop to wash the walls with warm water and a little bit of odo-ban cleaner/disinfectant. It worked really well.
Thank you Andrea, the weather is becoming nicer and all your tips are putting me in spring cleaning mood 🧹🧽
Great tips! My favorite is the cloth over the swifter to reach high spaces. Favorite chocolate is Cadbury’s Flake ❤

Hello, Thanks for this amazing video !!I will no longer use vinegar with my towels , Tide refresh to the rescue !!!
For those in the UK Fairy Powerspray is the equivalent to Dawn Powerwash. Works fantastic on oven racks.
L A awesome (make it extra strong- dollar tree) or pink stuff paste work amazing on racks and if it nice outside I do it in the yard- and use the hose to rinse and do the grill racks at the same time
I am a huge fan of Krud Kutter as a degreaser and cleaner. It takes off so much gunk and it’s safe for kids and animals.
Andrea Jean, in your fitness videos, do you have anything for older (I'm 77 and a little sedentary) women? Something like this chair yoga I keep hearing about?
Nothing in a chair but I do have lots of no jumping options 👍
Ty for all ur encouraging videos
❤️❤️❤️
Heads up , Oxy clean and baking soda will cause problems in any of your shampooers . They break down and clog the little tubes in the machines . Really any powders will mess up the machines . If your ok with replacing your machines every year or so , go for it . Kust wanted to give ya'll a heads up . Happy cleaning
Not a cleaning question but I need to know what type floors you have?! I love them!
They were here when we moved in so I am not entirely sure but they are wood 👍
I totally agree with the tineco! I'm old school hands n knees only way i feel completely clean.
I also love using Walmarts white vinagar on n gallon and I take a spray bottle mix dawn or my new fave is ajax grapefruit dish soap it smells amazing mixed with vinagar and water for a multipupose spray it shines my sinks and counter tops and tub
Love the oven rack cleaning help!!
Have you ever washed/dried memory foam pillows? I'm afraid to since I've yet to see anyone else do so, and they're so darn expensive to replace. Thanks. Love all your tips today.
Thanks for sharing I love the idea of electric brush I need one. I am a house cleaner to and you gave me good ideas. Thanks Jerri from Ma.
I loved your tips about washing our pillows ❤ I’m gonna get all our pillows much cleaner now
So glad!
I really like the oven cleaning hack.
Oh yes! Thank u for that recommendation. I got the Downy light scent. Wonderful !! It made a big dish. And my washing machine smells better!😊 Snickers with Almonds.
Wonderful!
Love the outfit. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! 🤗 Linked in the description box 👍
Love the Shark vacuum!❤
The best tip was the oven racks. I’m going to do that this weekend. Wonder if it would also work on super gnarly grill grates and those triangle pieces that cover the grill burners? I guess I’ll have to try that when it gets warmer. (Ain’t no warm going on in MI, either! 🥶❄️😢) My fave candy bar is snickers. That said, I wouldn’t turn down any candy bar … 😂 … and when I eat a Kit Kat I always delaminate them vs cru Ching through all the layers. Weird, I know. 🤨😉
Love it!!
I am cleaning my oven racks TODAY!!! ❤❤😊😊
Love it!!
Well now I gotta clean my oven😂! Thank you for the motivation!!
You got this! ❤️
Great video, great advice!! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your tips, making my cleaning routine alot easier. 😊
I'm so glad!
You are amazing! I love the washing machine cleaning especially! Thanks for another awesome video ❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Dollar Tree has stainless steel scrubbers...like Amway scrub buds. I would use them instead of the steel wool...no splinters and reusable.
1st of all..I love your make up n hair dooo..u look all fresh n cute.... awesome video..ty
‘The eyelashes are a bit much…..not natural looking but just my opinion.
So nice of you!

Have a wonderful week.
thanks for the hints, great video
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for all the tips n hacks!!!!
You are so welcome!
I have never smelled vinegar when I use it for towels
I agree with you 100% on the mop/vacs! I have the Bissell and it is a pain to clean! Also, how much oxy do you use in the little vac cleaner? And those shoes are so cute, are they comfortable because I need shoes for church and other functions. Thank you.
Not a lot of oxy in the Bissell... maybe an 1/8 - 1/4 cup. Yes, the shoes are comfortable. I cleaned the whole house in them! 🙂
@@AndreaJean Thank you!
Oven racks use SoS or Brillo if it's really bad use a pumice stone. Easy
Andrea Jean,
A while back you did a video on cleaning water stains from a toilet. I can’t remember the product you used. Where can I find that video??
Thank you so much!
Lime away works great 👍
In just this one video, I got so many ideas. Have you ever used Invisible Shield on your glass. I love it and have even taken it to Peru. Doesn’t build up
Thanks for the idea!
I take my oven racks outside on my patio I spray them on a plastic tarp in the summer I leave them out there for several hours I scrub them then rinse them off with the hose and if I keep on top of my oven it doesn't get that dirty
30:25 Use copper grill mats which come in large sizes to protect the oven shelves to begin with.
Loved this video! Can you use the Oxi Clean on dark couches?
Hershey almond chocolate bar. Thats my favorite. Thanks again for all your helpful tips.Your awesome. ❤😊
So good!
Don't feel too bad about the snow here in Minnesota. It should be gone by the end of the week! 🫠
Growing up my mom made us double pillowcases. Was I glad to find pillow protectors!
I don’t understand why people don’t use pillow protectors/ticking. They help keep the pillows clean. Of course, I launder pillows, but not as often if I didn’t use that extra cover.
Please make sure you don't wash pillows if they're down filled or memory foam you'll ruin them! Synthetic filled pillows do great in the washer!
You can wash down pillows, just follow the directions. Do a double spin cycle and put in dryer balls, you have to make sure they are totally dry. I grew up with them, and as an adult I’ve had them and they always come out perfect
I tuned in first time may 14,2024
I love your explanation of things - your videos make so much sense!
My fav chocolate bar (I rarely eat bars) is Kit Kat
I like the pillow trick and towels
Love it!!
At my work, we use flat paint because it is easy to do touch ups (no need to do a whole wall to match the sheen)
York peppermint patties!
❤️❤️❤️
I heard that after you clean your blinds, spray them with Static Guard and the dust will not stick to them as much so you can go longer periods with cleaning them.😮
Everything ❤
❤ Good day Andrea Jean, always love your great tips! Can I tell you that I am in love with your sweater top, love the color, love the design! Where did you find it?
You are hilarious! Thank you for making cleaning better!
You are so welcome!
I just bought Carbona for my racks. It was $8 or $9 and it will clean 2 racks. Ill try the dawn & steel wool for my other rackd
Let me know how it works for you!
I only add vinegar to help release dog hair from clothes. It seems to work.
Need to. Ask a question about how do you get egg off your window and siding???
Oh also. Do you have treatment recommendations of cleaners and type of cleaning machine to clean up pet accidents in carpet?
I love using my bissell little green machine for smaller areas and I have a large cleaner as well. These are just the ones I have. Bissell has some larger cleaners that are different models as well that will show up through the link below. Hope this helps! ❤️

What ratio of oxi clean to water do you mix up for your little green machine? I thought you had to use specific BISSELL solutions. Nice videos. You’ve really improved since the last ones I saw yrs ago.
I have never had any issues especially when it’s mixed well 👍
Thank you!! I use about a tablespoon or less and be sure to mix well 👍
Thanks for the pillow cleaning tips! I bet they smell so fresh and clean afterwards!! Candy bars- I love an old fashioned Payday! Caramel and peanuts! Yum!! Also Mounds! Yum, again!! ❤🍫
❤️❤️❤️❤️
You rock Andrea Jean!! Thanks for the great tips!! Can't pick just one!! And I'm a Milky way girl!! 😉👍😁🤗🤗
You rock!
Totally off subject...your sweater is gorgeous!
Thank you 🙏 it’s linked below ❤️
Hey Andrea Jean. Hersheys w/almonds. I was having a tough morning. Watched your video and I’m ready to get my day going. Thank you! You’re a gem. 🩷
You got this!
Ammonia is great for grease. It's a gas (dissolved in water) which, like other alkalis, changes fats to soaps - only, unlike other alkalis, whatever isn't used dissipates as gas. There's no alkali residue.
You are just too awesome!!😊
You are! ❤️
You crack me up 💛in your videos
😍
I love Hershey bars with Almonds 😊
Yum!
I love the tip....My favorite candy bar is a Zero I have love them all my life....
❤️❤️❤️
Favorite candy: Snickers and M&M's
I loved the oven rack hack. However, I'll still have to use the bathtub...apartment living. Sinks are too small.
Do you have a video on an efficient way to clean the inside of the oven. I made a mess a couple of years ago, trying the baking soda paste hack for cleaning the oven.
Yes I just did one recently ❤️ Thank you 😍
I'm my opinion Dawn has the best degreaser not the power wash it's purple in color I'm impressed with it
I used to hate mopping, rinsing the mop head and squeezing the water out over and over. ,that's the only way I could see doing it, bc when you have a bucket of water, it gets nasty fast and then you're just mopping with dirty water. I love the tineco,it's easy to clean, especially when you compare it with how hard everything was before. My arthritic hands and back thank me every time I mop now.
