How I clean our expensive pots and pans after my husband cooks is I pour in enough water in the pan to cover the burnt on, dried on, over cooked food, a few drops of dawn dish soap and turn the burner on to boil.
Stir the water a few times with a spatula, scraping the bottom of the pan and by the time the water boils the pan should be somewhat clean. I call it work smarter not harder. Been cleaning pots and pans this way for years!
How to get out of cooking! Hubby''s no fool. LOL.
If you clean your bathtub after you get out with your rag or washcloth, you don’t have to worry about cleaning it once a week. I was taught to wipe down the tub when you get out of the tub. Also scrub daddy or scrub mommy is the best scrubber I’ve used! Doesn’t scratch my non stick pans!
Oh my goodness, please, don't use the cloth you will use on your skin again. There's more to bacteria than just a toss in the washing machine for that cloth before it touches your skin again and the bacteria that grows on the surface of a bathtub/shower could possibly give your skin a horrible infection/boils.
Please keep the body washcloths separate from the "cleaning the tub/shower" cloths.
And I can support the Folex tip! I have white curtains in the kitchen which got something tomato based splashed on them (how? we'll never know) So I sprayed some Folex on, and magically it disappeared. Didn't need to remove them. I will eventually run them through the washer, but not now since the stain is gone! I had never heard of this product until this channel. I sure hope Folex gives you a sponsorship someday!
I will need to try that!
There is another cheap hack to get stains out. It is Windex or any blue liquid glass cleaner. It gets blood out of whites, but you have to let it sit and then wash. I had an accident that left me with a concussion that took years to recover from but I still have bouts with depression where I just exist. Anyway, now that I am doing better mentally I am starting to clean more. I bought a white cloth shower curtain last summer and never washed it. I took it down to wash last weekend and I was ready to throw it away. It looked like it had been dragged in mud. I sprayed it with Windex and gave it a light scrub with a simple scrub brush and threw it in the washer and waited 😮. It looked brand new. Not a spot on it 😅.
Isnt Andrea the best, she cracks me up and at the same time, has the best tips.
The sponge in the microwave is not as effective as most people think. I can't remember where I found it, it was over a year ago, but I read a report on cleaning kitchen sponges.
They used different sponges in a test kitchen, nothing special, just typical use. They tried all of the cleaning methods. Dishwasher, microwave, laundry, everything. Not one of them got the sponges truly sanitized. You can get the surface very clean, but there will always be resistant bacteria inside the sponge that will start to regrow the instant you get the sponge wet.
They did lab tests. Swab the surface of the sponge, cut the sponge open, both in dry and wet states. All of them were extremely contaminated after a week. They had really big colonies of heat and drug resistant bacteria. Every one of them.
They decided to just recommend that you should allow your sponge to dry thoroughly (until it reaches a "hard" state), after rinsing well. Kitchen sponges should be used for no longer than two weeks. After that, they are really good at spreading bacteria around your kitchen, and not much else.
Thanks for sharing as I always used the microwave method. ❤
@@DecFirefly1210 Like I said, I don't remember exactly where I read it, but there are several online sources that refer to the study. Articles in New York Times, Apartment Therapy, and SpongeBath all refer to the study.
@@karynstouffer3562 I’ll search it 💜
I’ve seen/read this also 🤢
I wrap Saran Wrap around my remotes. Keeps them clean and dust free. The buttons can still be used. ❤
Very interesting.
I love these “pocket cleaning hacks”! The solutions are all things I was already doing so I feel like a pro! Keep em’ coming 🤗
❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Brillo power wash at dollar tree is the bomb by the way.
I JUST discovered this!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I do use a swifter for dry dusting, but often find I need to follow-up with a damp microfiber cloth or mitt for grimy stuff, especially on my vinyl blinds
I already use the tub scrubber which I invested in a couple of years ago due to back issues. It's genius & I love it. There is a longer adjustable extension tool for the Swiffer Duster that I have been using for years. I just love it. I wish I knew about using the duster for the baseboards years ago. That's a game changer. I love your channel/videos. I'm learning a lot.
I have the faux swiffer mop head and the broom handle from Dollar-Twenty-Five Tree. I use that with a scrubby wash cloth (hand knit with a yarn intended for making scrubby washcloths, takes a few hours in front of the TV to do) to scrub my tub.
Hi Andrea, I love all your hints! You are a lifesaver at times! Tfs!!❤❤
You are so welcome ❤️
Absolutely love this video! Thank you for the honest review of products. I was never a fan of the baking soda trick and it didn't work for me no matter how much elbow grease I applied.
Love your channel Andrea-Jean. 🤗
You are so welcome!
That Dawn power wash is my GO TO CLEANER for everything! Works great on clothing, fisher and cleans EVERYTHING.
And I have been using Folex for years. It’s fantastic! Love your honest videos!! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing!!
I actually use the denture cleaner on my jewelery. It loosens the organic matter, and you can follow up scrubbing with either toothpaste or alcohol. I actually have a dedicated head to my ultra sonic toothbrush to use in my jewelry.
Dawn power wash is what I use for funky pans, grease stains on clothing and my stovetop. I also have begun using the Rinse and Refresh in my wash. Thanks Andrea Jean!
I just continue to love your show. You are an amazing lady from one episode to another. I’m hooked. I just can’t stop watching I’m addicted lol but it’s all a good thing. It’s all a good thing did I win yet lol😂❤❤❤
I have the Folex it works absolutely amazing. I had a few m&ms melted and squished into my white sheets and sprayed it in let it sit for a min and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. It came right off without me having to take my sheets off and washing them again. I would have just washed them but I had just put them on my bed. I love the Folex. Another good cleaner is “Iron Out” for rust and hard water. It worked so well on the rust around my tub drain. I was shocked on how well it worked.
Thanks for sharing!
Love your channel!
I had a jewelry store...had to keep glass clean...the only product that did the job was rubbing alcohol...fabulous!
Then stomach aches came from using...but it did work...
Love Folex, getting harder to find! The BEST for carpet stains!! Def getting it for clothes
Question? What can I use on my refrigerator magnet door sealer to clean it?
Great video. I really enjoy your sense of humor as you share your cleaning tips. Will definately be using your helpful ideas.❤😊
Thanks so much! 😊
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you thank you, thank you, I always learn something new. Plus you're so relatable and funny. 🤗
I love your personality, you’re so funny. Thanks for sharing all your realistic tips.
Love 💕 and Hugs. 💙💙💙
Oh thank you!
What a treat, to go along with a leisurely breakfast! Good Morning!
Good morning!
Hi ! To clean my floors I now use worm water, black liquid soap and I add a few drops of essential oil. My floors come out super clean and the house smells so nice ! Thanks for all your tricks, I enjoy watching your video all the way from Laval, Québec, Canada.
I had a green machine and accidentally left it at an apartment I moved out of. A gift from my ex-husband, probably the only thing in our marriage he did right.
When it comes to cleaning baseboards? One of my longtime friends (since junior high) enlisted the aid of her small daughters. Figuring that they were closer in height to the baseboards than herself? She simply gave each of them a dryer sheet and made a game out of it. These days, she does the same with her grandchildren. ☺️❤
I wanna know where you learned all of these hacks, was it passed down from your momma or grandmother just wondering because you are really good at this stuff!!! ❤❤❤
Not passed down.
I work in hospitals and use the Sani-Cloth germicidal wipes for the outside part of my work shoes. Then when I get home from work, I remove my shoes at the door. I spray the inside with sanitizing spray like Lysol and stick them on our boots/shoes dyer. It blows heated air inside my shoes! This helps kill some of the bacteria and feel so nice putting on my work shoes in the morning!
Another amazing inspiration video love all your hacks 😅 thank you for sharing beautiful lady 💗
Thank you so much!!
Love the video....wonderful hacks/tips. Finally someone on UA-cam who hates using baking soda like I do!!!! I seldom use vinegar either. A few years ago I cleaned around my kitchen sink faucet with vinegar.....the vinegar damaged the seal and caused it to leak.
Thanks for sharing!!
I use shaving cream, I got for $1 years ago at Dollar Tree and a tooth brush. I love how they sparkle.
Hey Andrea, I like Baking Soda for Baking and for my skin. I use it in the shower and on my face...I love it for that. Thank you for all the tips..
Thanks for sharing!!
I use denture tablets for my anti-grind mouthpiece. I also used it back in the day when I had a retainer. Also, I love the Rinse and Refresh, but I have citric acid crystals here at home and I wonder if I dissolved them in water and tried that instead if it would work as well? And Andrea Jean, you look cray adorbs (is that still a saying?) in that sweater! ☺️
Girl I laugh every time I watch your videos I love
You so much ❤❤❤😂😂😂
🤪 Gotta keep it fun around here.
Once again Andrea, you have outdone yourself!! Thank you again for this valuable video! Sending hugs to you from South Carolina 🤗
Thank you so much!
Baking soda hack is so true it’s a pain to clean up!!
Sent your video to my sister and niece who is a germaphobic. So many great ideas!
Awesome! Thank you!
Love the video, always, really lovin the sweater 👍🏻
Yay, thank you!
where can i go to see ALL of your receipes and kitchen gadgets. ie: the sprial twister for veggies.
Andrea, Youuuu are the best.❤❤❤❤❤
❤️ Thank you!
Finally!! Some truth in the land of household cleaning myths. From a 65 year old Grandmother who has probably tried most of the baking soda and vinegar you mentioned and failed, thank you❤️👏
Wonderful!
This is great! Thank you, Andrea Jean. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing!😊
Hey girl. Great video. Thx for saving us on useless hacks. Have a great day.😊❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you!! I'm gonna get some citric acid but I'm gonna use my cleaned out parmesan cheese container to store it and sprinkle it!!😉 thanx again for the idea!!
Fun to watch and so many great ways to clean! Thanks.
Magic erasers are great, but be sure to test an inconspicuous part first as it removes some paints.
Not only does it remove some paints, it's really good at scratching shiny surfaces.
How do you feel about steam mops for hardwood or laminated flooring?
Not for hard wood….
What cleaner do you use on mirrors? Everything I’ve tried leaves streaks
Just found another good reason for getting organized. In cleaning out my craft room I Found 7 exacto knives and 39 bottles of paint duplicates. The problem of being disorganized is you don't know what you have and then you go buy another one. Something else to help you stay organized is a bar light that goes inside your cabinets so you can see what you have. The lights are very easy to install. I put them in my pantry, under my sink and inside my closet.
Thanks!
Thank you soooooooo much Donna ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕💕🎉🎉🎉🎉🥰🥰🥰🥰 You are the best!
Hi Andrea🙋 Nice outfit while cleaning the tub👍👍
Yay I love AJs videos!!!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I ordered one of the handheld rinse hose from temu. I got those pink disposable brushes. Works great in small places.
Love your videos. So many great ideas with the bonus of your great personality.
Been using mop in my tub and shower for a while, btw your skin and hair looks great! I love dawn also.
p.s. always turn your computer off before cleaning, a daily detail brush works great also a sanitizing wipe works.
Love love love this video!💯 You are amazing and sending you tons of hugs for this today! Yes, we love a good hack and nice pocket tricks! lol
Thank you so much!!
I loved my Rinse-a-Roo until the part that goes around the faucet got little pinholes in it and water would squirt all over. Great concept, they just need to work on a stronger rubber for that part. Great customer service though.
Amen sister on the tennis shoes!!! Much Love
What is the little tool called you are using to clean the remote and computer?
Linked in the description box 👍
I'd like to offer you a hack in reference to the lil red scraper. I use the small clips that you get on some breads... potatoes...etc. I keep them on my kitchen window sill. It works just as well as the scraper, AND, It was free 😁. One more thing, for cleaning your floors, I found YEARS ago, Lysol Concentrate All Purpose Cleaner Disinfectant in the brown bottle. Don't have a flowery smell to it, but, works FANTASTIC.
Howdy from Texas! We love your hacks in our home.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you have flat paint, magic erasers will remove paint and leave a mark. Swiffer doesn’t do a great job on blinds. A cloth does a better job. Regardless of what is used, you need to clean each slate individually and not a quick pass. Clorox wand isn’t necessary. I had one and got rid of it. A Dollar Tree microfiber mop head works better.
I love your hair in this video btw, a nice color. Thanks for reviewing the baking soda hacks, I won't be wasting my time trying those. I watch all your videos, you two do a great job on them. Love your enthusiasm for cleaning and I've used a bunch of your hacks. Thanks again, hugs from midwestern Texas where we don't get much rain!!!
Thanks for making cleaning 🧼 fun & entertaining. Plus they’re really great hacks.😊
You are so welcome!
I hang the shoes with the shoelaces but I have nothing else maybe like a few socks but that's it inside the dryer
Don’t use dish detergent on pearls emerald, turquoise, or any other porous, stone, diamonds, and other gemstones, you can put two drops of ammonia with the dish soap
Enjoy watching your shows, thank you. I have Hunter Douglas fabric shades at my house. They have been collecting dust and there is no shops that offer cleaning services. Do you have any suggestions to how I can clean them at home? Thanks.
That is awesome!
Wish you would have answered that question instead of just saying “that is awesome“. I have the same Hunter Douglas fabric shades and would also like to know how to clean them. If you have a solution, let us know.
If you take a plastic container out of the freezer and it is stained from spaghetti sauce. Place a piece of kitchen roll in the bottom then add some dawn dish washing liquid and 1/2 cup of warm water . Put the lid on and shake vigorously. When you take the lid off and pour contents out stain will be gone. Don’t wash container first.
I did a whole video on this and it actually didn’t work for me 😢
I loved it all. It is all helpful tips.❤😊
So glad!
I tried both methods of drying shoes in the dryer. USE A MESH BAG! Hanging it over the door with out a kind of a cover on it, twisted the shoe laces, stretched and ruined it. Just throwing it in the dryer is not bad but depending on the kind of shoe and built, overtime it’ll separate the sole from the body of the shoe. Nowadays whatever method I want to use, I just make sure to use a mesh bag and I no longer get my designer sneakers damaged
Could you tell me what kind of oil you use in vacuum that would last a week? TIA
It’s from Dollar Tree 🤣
Could you recommend the long handled brush/cleaner for your bathtub, or shower wall. With no batteries or chargers.
That can accommodate refill scrubber
Another reason for a stinky washing machine is that you need to clean out the water filter
Some front loaders will be on the front bottom or the pain in the butt ones will be in the back where you have to take off the back panel. You can google your machine # and there will be directions. You will be amazed the amount of gunk gets clogged up thus giving a funky odor…
Actually, baking soda and lemon juice, works wonders!!! 🤗
Hello I was just wondering can I use apple cider vinegar in my washer I love your channel Have a great day
I use vinagar all the time in my laundry works great for smells i buy regular white vinagar
What is that towel for the stainless steel.
Linked in the description box 🥰❤️🎉
Andrea Jean I love u so much , I've been watching this year could u please send me the home made recipes for the cleaner.. I lost my ingredients list 😊
Please tell us about getting rid of your cooking pot lids.
Great video, so much fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Not us saying "rubbing alcohol" at the same time!!🎉🎉😂😂😂
New follower here❤❤😂😂🎉
I’ve hung my shoes in the dryer to dry but I don’t have any clothes in there with them so they don’t bang around
Your hair is beautiful
I always enjoy and appreciate your videos !
I appreciate that!
My kitchen blinds get sticky from cooking fumes. What is the best way to quickly clean the schmutz off the slats? All suggestions welcome!😁
Where did you get the blue hose you attached to the bathtub faucet?
Linked in the description box 👍
I just rented a home with Vinyl Plank Flooring. What is the best way to clean them?
I use a little tape to get rid of baking soda.
Just in case my comment didn't make the chat...@Andrea Jean Cleaning, please do a detail product review of the Tineco Vacuum/Mop. It's sitting in my Amazon cart waiting for a price reduction as I write this...TIA
Also, Thank you for all the effort you and your sweetheart do on these videos! Excellent!
I have an older video on it! Maybe I can post a short on why I no longer recommend it. You have to take it apart to let it completely dry. If you don’t it will stink. Also there’s a cleaning roller you have to hand clean and again let it dry which takes awhile. It’s smelly and time consuming lol!
Thanks! The YTer I watch (who lives in California) uses one and does swap the roller heads but also lives in a dryer climate than we do here in the Upper Midwest! Much appreciate your prompt reply, too! @@AndreaJean
andrea jean i just love you, but my tub is old and finish not so good how do i get it white again?
I think the vinegar I was using on my kitchen faucet & sprayer bestroyed them 😮
For smelly plastics I use water and vanilla extract.
Denture tablets are good for toilets also
You keep saying click the links in the description box below I’ve yet to see a description box could you give an example of what to look for or how further out is it to find?
Don't know how to explain it other than it's below my channel name and the other icons. I would google it if you're still not finding it. ❤️
I love your videos. Thanks for making this.
Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU A J FOR MAKING MY HOUSEWORK EASIER! BUT! I HAVE A QUESTION-I live in NOLA where it is HUMID AF and love to wear my fuzzy open-toed slippers around the house. Being in menopause...I am ALWAYS hot so I cannot wear socks with them like a lot of folks do down here. My question is, do you have a simple hack to clean the foot oil that eventually accumulates in the foot beds? I tried the washer but they fell apart after a few runs and I just replaced the old with two new pairs! FOREVER GRATEFUL...Lori the Swamp Witch. ^..^
I pretreat mine with shout stain remover and then wash in the washing machine 👍
