I love how you don't hide anything... you show all your ugliness in your house... cause it's normal to have some nasty in your home... thanks for keeping it real with us 💜
A hair dresser recommended using a cheap denture brush to clean brushes and combs. It really works wonders especially on those brushes with the plastic bristles with round tips. In addition, spray the Dawn powerwash directly on the bristles and let it soak in for a few minutes before putting them in warm water. It really helps to breakdown all the oil and product buildup at the base of the bristles.
Great tip!
I’ve been a stylist for well over 30 years. On those combs, after soaking, you can just take a towel and hold the comb in one hand and take the towel and wipe from the base of the teeth out to the tips. Concentrate on holding it firmly while pulling out. Then go through to get anything left over.
Soak in a solution of ammonia or washing soda.
If your drains are mostly clogged with hair, our cleaning lady uses Clorox drain sticks... 2 pack for $4. They are long enough to get to the P-trap in the sink or shower and no removal of drain plugs. How did I not know about these? I have crawled under the sink to remove the P-trap on every sink I've owned.
Thanks for showing us to get that stopper unhooked so we can get it opened. UGH ours was nasty too. I wondered why my bathroom sink was draining sooooo slow. Nailed it!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dollar Tree has a gadget called a ‘Zip-It’. That works great for getting further down the pipe. Don’t worry, it produces a lot of ‘gross’ too, so it’s satisfying! LoL
Is it the toothpaste that makes that slime??
I thought it was because of hard water, but my kids’s sink was bad but mine was not really. I do clean mine more frequently which might make a difference?
I spray easy off no fume on at night then wet a rag the next morning and pretty much everything wipes off with no scrubbing.
Whenever I clean out my hairbrushes I put the hair in a grocery bag I’ve saved, then when I’m done I put the hair outside. The birds use the hair to build their nests. 🪺
❤️❤️❤️
Make sure to cut the hair into fingering or shorter pieces. Long hair can entangle bird feet.❤
@@ande100 will do 😊. Thanks so much
I toss fresh cut hair in the garden to discourage rodents (squirrels & chipmunks) from digging. Would like to know if you put the hair in anything (like a mesh bag) and hang it up for the birds, or just spread it in the garden. Thanks
@@ValerieCraig-rw4fz I just put in right out in the garden but I try to always place it in the same spot. They seem to remember where it is. I also place any twigs or small sticks I find there 😊
I use a small snake it works
I've been dealing with a slow drain for at least a year and tried pouring all the things down but knew I needed to take it apart. I went and did what you did and mine was WAY WORSE than what you pulled out of both of yours 🤢. I'm surprised any water was going down at all 😂
Just absolutely love your channel 👍 I can't wait for you to post a new one. I'm almost 68 and I have learned so many new cleaning hacks thank you so much for all your help and hard work 👍❤️😍🙏🇨🇦
Awesome! Thank you!
This was a needed post/video! Cleaned the bathroom sink trap, which wasn’t bad because I use the Zip it hair remover which keeps most of the hair out of the drains, but it still needed a good cleaning!Thank you!😉
Glad I could help!
Child sized tooth brushes work really well to get between the bristles of hair brushes to scrub them clean once the hair is out. This also works to scrub combs clean too.
Girl I so enjoy watching you clean and get things done. I feel accomplished. 😬😆 Going to the store now. I especially enjoy listening to you and I really appreciate you sharing bc honestly my mind knows these things but blocks it. Apparently it doesn’t want me working it too hard. 😅😂
Blessed, safe and warm day to you friend!❤
Same to you Lisa! Much love ❤️❤️❤️
An old toothbrush also works well on cleaning combs and certain brushes.
I have about 20 white towels that I use to blot the stains with. I keep blotting with dry towels until my towels comes up clean. I also use water and white vinegar with the towels and just keep blotting moving to a clean area on the rag. This worked great on nail polish on a bedroom rug.
I have to clean my hairbrushes and combs no less than once a week. I just clean all the hair out of them then take them in the shower w me and use clarifying shampoo and a fingernail brush to scrub them out. Works perfect every time!
Great tip!
For cleaning combs, I find that a regular old-fashioned toothbrush and a bit of soap works beautifully. Pretty simple and so much faster than a toothpick.
I clean the hair out with a rattail comb and clean in the washer with bath towels or hand towels😊
I soak my comb & brushes in the sink with hot water. I use a hair brush to clean my combs. 👍🙂😊
After I have extracted as much hair as possible I run my hair brushes through a dishwasher cycle with my dishes.
I love using Earth Breeze.
Hi, loving your video! So on your oven door, there are latches when the door is open all the way, flip those levers down, then you can lift the door off.
❤️❤️❤️
Silicone covers for the racks and bottom of your oven cuts down on the need to scrub your oven so often
The Lemon Dawn Powerwash is my favorite!
Thanks, lady. We appreciate you
Thanks Tina ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've used the earth breeze for a long time and I love them
I use regular dawn baking soda and vinegar to keep my drains moving
I have used wooden skewers to clean in between my larger hair brushes.
You should have just put the Dawn power wash down the hole, you would not have had to do anything else. And I would have spray it directly on the piece. Its amazing!!!
She had to take the piece out because it was big chunks of residue…
Recently found your channel and I’m thrilled. I have my own cleaning business, and I wanted to thank you for your tips, cleaning DIYs, and product recommendations. 😊🙏🏼
You are so welcome!
Thank You Andrea Jean!
❤️❤️❤️
I like Tru Earth better - made in Canada versus China made Earth Breeze…. But I agree, laundry strips are my favorite!!
Yes better than made in china!
Now I am leaning towards an extraction appliance (I had been considering a wet/dry shop vac). I don't even have carpets! But it looks like it would be great on upholstery/linens and those are the bane of my existence with a kitty!
Hi from UK 😊Using a nail scrub brush works brilliantly on combs too❤xXx
Thanks for the tip!
OMG!!! I'm going to have to show this to my boys!! Really enjoy watching your videos! Has inspired me to start cleaning my home. Thank you for your humor and insights!! ❤🤗
Yay! Thank you!
You can buy a comb cleaner, it’ll get all the junk off in seconds then you just have to wash it. They’re only a couple of euros but are brilliant.
I’m obsessed with Dirty Labs dishwashing powder. The smell is amazing and my dishes come out so clean!
It's almost midnight....I'm recouping from a bronchial viral infection I've had since 12/1/23. When you said, 'I think I'd rather deal with.....poop'...you really cracked me up!! I woke up my dog between the laughing and the coughing! 🤭 😂 🤪 It's the little things in life, and I'm grateful for the chuckle!! Thank you! Side note....Just noticed your sweatshirt and small world - I'm relocating this year about 1/2 hr from NIsswa, and spent the first 17 summers of my life at our cabin in Pine River. Thanks for sharing your videos! I'm going to be moving into an apartment for the first time in 40 yrs - so I'm sure I'll be referring back to many of your tips re cleaning and storage! 👍
Feel better ❤️🩹
@@AndreaJean I'm getting there, just taking its time. I was visiting my 93 y.o. mom who was admitted to the ICU with pneumonia, when I got sick. Thankful I've been able to be treated at home & it didn't go into pneumonia!. 👍
😍Please do a video on removing and preventing hard water deposits on sinks and showers! It's such a trouble! Thank you! I am your greatest fan! Blessings! 💋
❤️❤️
I want to know why neither of the sinks had hair in them. That’s what I constantly deal with, and one of those long flat barbed stems do the trick.
Thank you ! Good ideas
You are so welcome!
Hair Boogers... had me literally laughing out loud 😂
Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets toothpicks and q-tips mixed-up 😂😊
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤Thank you Andrea for sharing,you are awesome🎉❤
You are! ❤️
You can use a long plastic tool made to manual put down the drain to get the clog out
I had one of those plastic tools and it doesn't do nearly as good a job as the little drain screen I use instead of a stopper. The barbs on those plastic tools are really wicked sharp, too!
Fabulous video as always!
Thank you! Cheers!
I clean my hair brushes & combs after every time I use them! Super easy & fast.
Did you not know that most oven doors can be removed from the hinges so you can reach the back of the oven to clean??? Open the door to the first "stop" in the hinges, somewhat of a venting position, where it is only open an inch or so and pull straight up on the door, using both hands on the sides of the door. It should slide off the hinges easily...then you can clean the door separately and simply slide it back on the hinges when done.
Drains are black because mold and mildew grow in dank places. Sludge is also composed of fats in soaps and the lotions on our hands when we wash. The girls bathroom had more gunk because the other component is hair. Girls with long(er) hair will have more gunk.
Any ideas on getting rid of fruit/ drain flies?
I add vinegar and baking soda leave it as long as you want and just add hot water it works as a charm
Great job! Sweet hacks. Thanks for sharing.👍👏👍👏
Thanks for watching!
Yes you feel calm cleaning the comb bc repetitive motion releases serotonin 🙂
Good experiment!!
Thank you! Cheers!
When I clean my brushes and combs I use shampoo in the hot water to break the gunk off. Works amazingly well. Those drains though! It’s amazing to me how they get so bad so quickly!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had printer ink that spilled onto the carpet and it sat on it for weeks. I used Folex for the first time and was amaized. It said to spray and then use paper towels and pat it and the ink soaked into the paper towels so I kept getting another paper towel until it soaked up every bit of the printer ink. No hint of the black left on the carpet. It worked like magic.
Put the plastic combs in the dishwasher
Try thin skewers
Reminder to not eat anything at all while watching 😅 I love your videos though girl you rock 😊
You're the best!
You crack me up!❤
❤️
Next time you see those bamboo skewers at the $tree pick up a bag, they should work as well or better than the toothpicks.
An old toothbrush works really well on cleaning combs and brushes
Andrea is so much. And has really great technique s. Love this video 🙋♀️tx
Glad you enjoyed it!
Try Ship Shape on the brushes and comb. It's used in salons for that kind of stuff. 🎉
I remove the trap and use a bottle brush to push all the gunk through to a bucket I put under the sink. I wash the stopper under the kitchen faucet and get rid of it all by running the garbage disposal.
I have long hair and, since I brush and style my hair over the sink, for YEARS I was having to do what she's doing in this video at least every other month! It's a gross job and a bit of a pain to do. When my drain would slow down and there was even a hint of odor coming from the drain, that was my cue it was time to clean it out again. I even bought one of those long, barbed plastic sticks that are supposed to get hair out of your drain, but it didn't work very well. One day while shopping, I found a set of those little drain-shaped screens that had a screen that fit my bathroom sink drain, so took out the stopper and stored it, and put the screen in the drain. It's been FABULOUS!! I never have to do what she's doing, never have to undo the trap and clean it out, and I never have any kind of drain slow-down or odor coming from the drain! The screen catches everything, even when I give myself a haircut. I do have to give the screen a quick rinse after brushing my teeth because the toothpaste foam is too thick to rinse off by itself, but it only takes a second or two to do and it beats having to clean the stopper, the drain, and/or the trap. The set of screens also had one the perfect size for my kitchen sink and I use it all the time.
Andrea Jean! Oh my word! You tried “Earth Breeze” laundry detergent! I thought you’d never break free from your beloved Tide! Well, I’m so grateful you did, then shared Earth Breeze with your audience. Not only are Earth Breeze sheets environmentally-responsible, but I find they work just as good as, maybe better than, Tide. Maybe you can approach Earth Breeze and they’ll offer your viewers a sweet deal!
I tried earth breeze and wanted to love it, but didn’t get stains out and laundry was dingy. 😩
I use Earth Breeze. I found it two years ago. Love it. And the company donates the laundry sheets to different charities as well when you purchase yours.
@@betholabecker3219 I have yet to find a laundry soap that gets stains out. For stains I use Shout, dawn dish soap and a scrubber, and even that doesn't always work either.
Plus I use baking soda with the soap, and vinegar in the rinse cycle.
I use a comb to remove the hair from a hairbrush, then run the brush through the dishwasher.
I use the bristle end of a comb to clean my brush bristles . Then i use a tooth brush to scrub across the comb bristles .
Love your videos! Could you include a video to remove the dust from a hair dryer when the back doesnt come off?
Great idea!
Girl, you would die if you opened my oven door! 😂 My problem is the inside of the glass door. I have seen vids of the door coming off but mine does not. I have inspected everywhere to get it off and cannot see anywhere to get it off . 😢😢 Maybe one day I'll figure it out! Love watching you clean...so satisfying!❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are a woman of many many talents❣️❣️
You are ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh, i hate cleaning out the drains-especially the shower drain! It can be downright terrifying! Lol
Goodness!!! I always forget about looking into the drain...yuck... Thanks for the tips...👍😁👍😁🤗
😍😍😍😍
Just stumbled on this channel and thought this was great..new subscriber. 😊
Welcome aboard!
What do you recommend using to clean a convention countertop toaster oven ?
My favorite product to use to remove hairspray off of combs, walls, floors, etc…Windex!
If your house looks like this, can you only imagine what mine looks like? WOW!!! this is amazing.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
OMG, my sink is barely draining and I have long hair. I will be needing a barf bucket. Thank you for your heads-ups.
Gloves and goggles. It will be disgusting. I use a plastic snake and dawn. Works quick
You are so welcome!
Mold
I have a glass stove I usually put a little bit of vinegar and a little bit of baking soda let sit car with a small towel or whatever is convenient for you put hot water leave it for a little bit and wipe your job 👍
For cleaning my combs I wash them under running water with a good old Fuller brush comb cleaner. My hair is colored red and they come out nice and clean!
Great tip!
I use one of those plastic toothpicks called pluckers since they don’t disintegrate like the wooden ones. Thanks for the video although I am terrified to clean my drains in the sinks now…..
Andrea Jean, have you tried Joe Campanelli's stain remover on Amazon? As a former Folex fan and product user, I was turned onto Joe Campanelli's from a friend. I was sold the 1st time I used it! Also works well on laundry! Let me know if you end up trying it and what you think!
Give the comb a soak, then brush with a nail brush
I clean my dirt bikes with that dawn soap spray, I magical
I purchased a brush-cleaning tool from the Big "A". It was $10 and works like a charm and use it each time I brush my hair. I soak my combs and brushes in ammonia. It loosens all the gunk. Let it sit for an hour, swish the comb/brush around and rinse with water. Done!
Weird tip use a nylon bristle brush to clean combs. I use combs to clean brushes.
I pull my hair from my comb daily and get my hair products out monthly.
OMG! I HAVE to do that to my sink drain! I know that's what's causing my slow drain but didn't really think about how to go about cleaning it.
👍👍👍👍
Those laundry sheets are also using micro plastics to hold the sheets together. Check the ingredients.
Thanks for all the cleaning tips. Now with the brushes you can use one brush to pull the hair out of the other brushes. That's how I do it
A bottle brush works awesome.
thanks for all your tips! In the red stains on carpet, I use salt believe it or not! When juice or wine would get spilled, to help clean it, I right away poured a generous amount of salt on the spot and leave it there for a bit and it draws most of the liquid up in to a clump then cleaned the salt and area up. I was surprised how It worked!
Great tip!
A tooth brush on combs work a lot better!
I just buy a new one
Good video!
Thanks!
I’ve always used a fingernail brush to clean my combs.
Awesome I do the same and learned a few tips manly tools
That's awesome ❤️
Toss the gunky comb
Why are you not using a toothbrush to clean the Combs?
Couldn't figure out how to do my own comment. Amazon sells a brush that is specifically made to clean hair brushes. It works really well.
Throw the brushes and colds in the washer with your bath towels
My oven door lifts off the struggle, but it makes it easier to clean inside
Happy freezing 🥶 Tuesday cleaning hacks tips beautiful lady ❤ I love the brush comb tips 😊 awesome hacks and tips thank you so much you rock 🪨 💙🦋🌈💗💜💛💚
So cold 🥶 thank you too!! Stay warm 😍
Omg it definite is a freezing Tuesday it's even like 19 degrees in Alabama this morning, and it will be 9 degrees Wed or Thurs night!!!❤❤❤❤
Your videos help me so much. I need to clean grease that gets on the ceiling from cooking, any suggestions on that? Maybe you already have a video about it but it’s very stubborn to get off and the ceiling is such a hard place to scrub. I do have a microwave fan over the stove but it’s just sending the grease to the ceiling, maybe you can suggest a way to prevent it as well. Thanks for your time
❤️❤️❤️
