Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS! The most extensive redesign in its 10-year history marked the 1973 Chevelle. Due to concern over proposed Federal rollover standards, convertible and 4-door hardtop models were discontinued, while the 2-door hardtop was replaced by a pillared coupe named "Colonnade Hardtop". This body style featured a semi-fastback roofline, frameless door glass and fixed, styled "B" pillars, structurally strong enough to contribute to occupant safety of a roll-over type accident. This move was somewhat controversial with the buying public as hardtops had been a staple of American cars for over 20 years and their presence almost taken for granted. Once the initial surprise was overcome however, the Colonnade models became a huge sales success. The Maroon paint of the Chevelle is believed original from the factory and shows well. This Chevelle SS only has 33k miles showing on the odometer and is believed original. Per the owner, under the hood is the factory 350 CID V8. It is a true time capsule as everything looks to be in place. Handling the power is a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts out nice and smooth making it the great match for the engine. Open the door and you will see an interior that looks to be stock. The bench seat is done in vinyl but has some nice black cloth inserts so you’re not sitting on vinyl on a hot day. This car embodies the term known as a survivor car. The Chevelle SS has been maintained with only regular maintenance over the years. Hopefully it’s still available when your ready. Title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now! Options on this 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS include; AM/FM Radio with Cassette player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Vinyl/Cloth Interior, and Rally Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle is offered by our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. That's the exact car I had in 74. Gosh I loved that car. Had a straight seat that was great for parking at the cemetery with the girls. I don't remember exact, but did not have it two long. I feel asleep coming from my girlfriends house one night and ran headlong into a culvert pipe and totaled it. A few months later, within 2/10 of a mile from that spot I had a head on collision in a Luv pickup coming from same place.

    Love this “colonnade” Chevy
Had one almost identical in HS, circa 1982. Purchased from tennis teacher. They drive so well.

The music in these videos is pathetic! How about, just the music of the engine! Good or bad. Would be much better..

Ehh.. No four speed, no big block, beach seats And column shifter. My friend had a triple black one of these with a 454 four speed buckets, console, it was super sinister looking. Killer wheels with white raised lettering , blacked out taillights and windows
